A group committed to establishing an international Islamic empire and reportedly linked to Al Qaeda is stepping up its Western recruitment efforts by holding its first official conference in the U.S.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq's onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. It has operated discreetly in the U.S. for decades.

Now, it is coming out of the shadows and openly hosting a July 19 conference entitled, "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam," at a posh Hilton hotel in a suburb of Chicago.

Hizb ut-Tahrir insists that it does not engage in terrorism, and it is not recognized by the State Department as a known terror group.

But some terrorism experts say it may be even more dangerous than many groups that are on the terror list.

"Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the oldest, largest indoctrinating organizations for the ideology known as jihadism," Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FOXNews.com.

Why is this group being allowed to have a conference? They are a terror organization. They obviously support islamic supremism. Not my words, but their own.

Fast-forward to 2009 and we’ve got Hamas basically accusing them of trying to … boost the Palestinian birth rate.

You know times are tough in Gaza when they’re even starting to phone in their anti-semitic propaganda.

“We have discovered two types of stimulants that were introduced into the Gaza Strip from Israeli border crossings,” Hamas police spokesman Islam Shahwan told AFP.

“The first type is presented in the form of chewing gum and the second in the form of drops,” he said…

One suspect said he had received the products from an Israeli intelligence officer at a cut-rate price “with the officer saying they did not want money, but to distribute the products among the young people of Gaza,” Shahwan said.

“The intelligence services are aiming to corrupt the young generation by distributing these products among students.”

Hopefully the endless diet of Islamist death cult-ism that the kids there are fed will keep them on the straight and narrow. Exit question one: If Israel really does have chewing gum that makes you horny, wouldn’t the smarter move be to market it and then use the massive profits to just buy the West Bank? Exit question two: Why mess around with something as innocuous as viagra gum? If the goal is building a bioweapon that’ll “corrupt” Arab youth, go for the gold.

Now - can anyone imagine a newspaper report in which 'the rabbi's house blew up' or 'the priest's house blew up' or 'the guru's house blew up' because they were being used as an ammo dump?"

In fact, yes. I can imagine such a newspaper report. So can lots of other people. And they imagine such reports all the time. They imagine them in order to reinforce the false moral equivalence they have embraced, and to avoid facing the hard facts of the doctrines of jihad and Islamic supremacism. But that's all they are -- imaginings. This one is real.

At least nine people have been killed and more than 50 injured in a blast at the home of a Muslim cleric in Pakistan.

Dozens of houses were flattened by the blast east of the city of Multan in Punjab province.

The house was often used as a makeshift religious school and some reports said seven children were among the dead.

The blast left a crater 12 metres wide and more than 20 nearby houses collapsed.
Witnesses say the ground shook like an earthquake.

The cause of the explosion is unknown but police found rocket launchers at the scene and suspect there may have been an ammunition dump at the cleric's house....

Another anti-Israeli campaign, this time charging that the IDF destroyed a Christian hospital in Gaza earlier this year, has gone up in smoke following an investigation by the Jewish Telegraph Agency (JTA). One question remains: what was supposed to happen with the $1.67 million raised for “rebuilding” the hospital?

Several months ago a fundraising campaign was conducted in Greece, with a star-studded telethon for the hospitals that Israel allegedly “destroyed with their bombs” during the Operation Cast Lead counterterrorist campaign from last December through mid-January.

The JTA revealed that the supposed hospital was not on United Nations and Red Crescent Society lists of damaged structures. Officials of non-government groups (NGOs) in Gaza told the American Jewish news network that only one Christian hospital was used during the campaign and that it did not sustain any damage....

Bakri lass in 'no veil' pose on the web

HATE preacher Omar Bakri was facing fresh humiliation last night after another of his daughters defied his strict Muslim code.

His 15-year-old daughter Raya has posted a picture of herself on Facebook - without a veil and baring her arms as she holds a cuddly toy.

It comes after Raya's 27-year-old sister Yasmin was exposed as a pole dancer by The Sun last year. Raya had been ordered to cover up from head-to-toe by Bakri, who is in exile in Lebanon.

A source close to the family said last night: "Raya's pictures on Facebook will make her father explode with rage.

"He's already been mortified by pictures of Yasmin half-naked."

Bakri, 51, divorced his wife Hanah, who stayed in London with his six children after he was booted out of Britain in 2006. He has now married a woman of 26.

He sparked outrage by praising the September 11 terrorists. He then blamed the Government and the British public for the 7/7 blasts in London that killed 52 people.

Patuakhali Sadar police arrested six people yesterday on charge of raping a teenage girl in a room of Patuakhali General Hospital. The arrestees are identified as Ananda, 20, Sohag, 27, Pabel, 27, Munna Kumar Das, 20, Sajib, 25, and Sohag, 29. Police said one of the arrestees forcibly brought the 13-year-old girl from Alauddin children's park area to a room of the blood bank in the hospital and gangraped her. On a tip-off, a Sadar police team rescued the girl and arrested all six from the spot.

MADINAH: A Shariah court in the town of Mahd Al-Dahab is taking up an important question: Can genies be summoned . . . to appear before a judge? According to Wednesday’s Al-Watan newspaper, a family has filed a lawsuit against an unnamed genie for stealing mobile phones, sending threatening voice messages through mobile phones imploring the family to move away and pelting family members with stones when they go out at night. The family has been living in the same house for 15 years, but claims that it only recently began to feel the presence of the genie over the past two years. “We have to look into this case and verify its truthfulness despite the difficulty of its consideration,” said Sheikh Amr Al-Salmi, the head of the local court. If he thinks it’s going to be difficult to verify these charges, just wait until the judge orders the genie to pay compensation.

Taliban fighters dress in burqas to slip away from Marines in Afghan village

Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan —Marines trapped Taliban fighters in a residential compound and persuaded the insurgents to allow women and children to leave.

The troops then moved in — only to discover that the militants had slipped out, dressed in women’s burqa robes.

The fighters, who may owe their lives to the new U.S. commander’s emphasis on limiting civilian casualties, were among hundreds of militants who have fled the offensive the Marines launched last week in southern Helmand province.

Marine officers say keeping the Taliban from returning so the Afghan government can establish a stable presence will be a bigger challenge.

“We have dislocated them while still protecting the people,” said Col. Eric Mellinger, the operations officer for the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade. “Now the key is to prevent militants from coming back in, and the way to do that is to earn their (Afghan villagers’) trust so that they don’t allow them to come back in.”

The offensive, which began Thursday when about 4,000 Marines and sailors stormed into the Helmand River valley, seeks to cut off a major Taliban supply route. The militants bring in weapons and fighters from Pakistan and ship out opium — one of their main sources of income.

Before the operation, their biggest of the Afghan war, Marine commanders believed up to 1,000 insurgents were operating in the fertile valley. But most of them fled without a major battle, instead launching scattered but ineffective attacks.

As a result, only one Marine has died so far in the mission, although several have been wounded. Others have collapsed from heat exhaustion after hiking for days with 50-100 pounds of food, water, weapons and ammunition in temperatures approaching 120 degrees.

Militants seemed keen to avoid an all-out fight with the better armed Marines.

On Monday, images from a Predator drone showed a dozen fighters and at least 15 to 20 civilians inside a mud-brick compound in the village of Khan Neshin, about 60 miles north of the Pakistani border.

Because of the civilians, the U.S. troops held their fire, and instead used a military translator and village elder to persuade the militants to free women and children.

Two groups — children and what appeared to be women in burqas — left the compound. When the Marines entered, they found no one. The fighters had clearly donned burqas and slipped away among the civilians, according to Marines who took part in the mission.

This is why we just need to kill them all and let allah the pagan moon god sort it out.

Islamists Sabotage Assimilation of Somali-Americans

The mainstream media has publicized a few cases of Somali-American youth that have returned to their homeland to fight for Islamist forces there. What the media has neglected to investigate is how Islamist members of the Somali-American community have formed organizations to advocate their agenda here in the United States. These organizations, which claim to represent the larger Somali community, silence moderate Muslim voices and impede the integration of Somalis into American society.

There are approximately 200,000 Somalis living in the United States, the largest community of 70,000 people residing in Minneapolis-St. Paul (population statistics for Somalis in America are rough estimates because many Somalis are here as refugees and therefore are not counted in official surveys). According to Andrew Liepman, the deputy director of intelligence at the National Counterterrorism Center, Somali-Americans face “greater insularity compared to other, more integrated Muslim immigrant communities, [which] has aggravated the challenge of assimilation for their children.”

Islamists have taken advantage of this insularity to disseminate their ideology within the community. The Islamists’ dogma ascribes no value to American cultural norms and has therefore led to clashes between Somalis and their host communities.

In one such incident, Hassan Mohamud, a prominent Somali-American imam, recently encouraged his congregants to give to Islamist causes in order to ameliorate “the hell of living in America.” Under the leadership of Mohamud and three other imams, Somali cab drivers in 2007 boycotted patrons carrying alcohol or accompanied by dogs — including those required for the visually impaired — because they claimed driving such passengers violates Sharia law.

In another Islamist-inspired incident, radical Somalis organized a labor strike in September 2008 at a meat packing plant in Grand Island, Nebraska. The factory workers at the plant were expected to work during the time allocated for the prayer that marks the end of the daily fast during the month of Ramadan. The Islamists’ agenda was to force the factory to adopt a different work schedule that would necessitate non-Muslim workers to come to their jobs on Saturdays for the entire month in order to receive their 40 hours of pay.

Fidencio Sandoval was one of over a thousand workers at the plant who counter-protested against the Islamists. “A new culture comes in with their demands and says, ‘This is what we want,’” he notes, contrasting the Islamists’ demand for concessions with the expectation of assimilation applied to other immigrant groups in America.

The Islamist Somalis also asserted their influence at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The center was forced to hire an almost entirely female obstetrical staff in order to placate Islamists who refused to have male doctors deliver their babies.

The Somali Islamist Sharia campaign has even reached the Bible Belt. The small town of Shelbyville, Tennessee, was besieged by Islamist Somalis who, according to local journalist Brian Mosely, refuse to deal with women in stores, demanding to see a male salesperson.

Somali Islamists have marketed their organizations to parents, emphasizing that their programs are a means to escape from the rough neighborhoods where many Somali immigrants find themselves. According to Liepman, “Parents and outsiders often view [these radical Islamist organizations] as a seemingly innocuous alternative to more common violent subcultures associated with gangs and criminality.”

A number of prominent Somali-American leaders have condemned the radical Islamists who claim to represent their community. These leaders seek to facilitate the integration of Somalis into American society. One such leader is Hussein Samatar, director of the Minneapolis-based African Development Center.

“The mosques and community must be open and transparent,” argues Samatar. “Our faith must be uplifting, unifying, inspiring, and hopeful.”

Unlike Mohamud and other Islamist Somalis, Samatar praises the opportunities available to Somalis in America. “Americans of Somali descent should be ambassadors of America throughout the Islamic world,” he says. “They should show Muslim countries what is inherently great about America and the American people.”

Samatar rejects the Islamists’ attempts to impose Sharia law on his community, lauding the freedom of religion provided in the States. “America is the best country in which to be a practicing Muslim,” he says. Recalling the civil war in Somalia, he notes, “We are well aware of the beauty of having the choice to practice one’s faith without being fearful or oppressed.”

Liepman and Samatar recognize what the mainstream media has ignored: the main challenge for the Somali-American community is not a few isolated incidents of youth joining Islamist forces thousands of miles away, but the calculated effort of Islamists in their midst to hinder their integration into American society.

“The overwhelming majority of Somali-Americans are or want to be contributing members of American society,” Liepman says.

These voices must be empowered and the Islamists marginalized so that Somali-Americans can take part in the same opportunities afforded to all citizens of their adopted homeland.

The overwheling majority of somalis are or want to be contributing members of American society? Sure. The vast majority of muslims want to have sharia law as the law of the world. We need to stop trying to placate these animals.

The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday it will grant asylum to 1,350 Arabs in Iraq who claim to have the right to live in Israel based on ancestry. The unprecedented numbers to be allowed to resettle in the United States may anger Israel, the Christian Science Monitor (CSM) reported.

Most of them lived well in Iraq under former dictator Saddam Hussein but then were thrown out of their homes after his downfall. They were targeted since the American invasion of the country and have been living near the border with Syria....

The Bush administration rarely accepted Arabs defined as "Palestinian refugees" in order not to irritate Israel, one diplomat told CSM. He said the Arabs will be processed as refugees from Iraq. Todd Pierce, a spokesman for the State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, said that the Arabs in Iraq are not being equated with those from Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

Jordan is the only Arab country that grants citizenship to Arabs who claim ancestry in Israel but has not allowed Arabs to enter from Iraq, according to Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington....

On The 1st July 2009 @ 6.30am the Mansour family were taken from their home in Moss Side and moved to a holding centre in Sussex after their legal team failed to help them.

Their legal advisers, who were paid a considerable amount by the Mansours, did not adequately represent them due to staff sickness. This has left the Mansour family in a critical situation.

The family came to England 4 years ago from Egypt because they feared for their lives. They have suffered persecution and worse from religious fundamentalist groups and the police department because of their Christian beliefs. They believe that their lives and those of their 5 young children are at risk if they return to Egypt.

Real victims of persecution are deported? muslim Hate preachers are allowed to stay? Why? the Christians are going to be killed or tortured in Egypt. But no, only muslims get preferential treatment.

Another Palestinian Arab blood libel

Palestinian Authority (P.A.) farmers, police, and media accuse Israelis in Samaria of releasing wild boars to uproot Arabs’ crops. The Arabs did not explain how Israelis could tame wild boars and direct them to damage Arabs’ crops but not Israelis’ crops. Actually, boars have damaged Israeli crops near Haifa.

They also had claimed that Jews in Jerusalem breed and released rats to harm Arabs there. Again, how do rats distinguish Arabs from Jews?

They also claimed that Israel spreads disease. Again, how does one confine bacteria to the other side of borders? Israel works on eradicating disease. Some Arab states refuse to cooperate with Israel on that effort of mutual benefit.

The Arab accusations are like the weird blood libel charges that Jews, contrary to Jewish ethics and culinary practice which abhors blood in meat, kill Christian children to drink their blood. Now you see the kind of people that confront Israel.

140 slain as Muslims riot in China

Reporting from Beijing -- China's worst ethnic violence in years broke out Sunday in the northwestern city of Urumqi, leaving 140 people dead and more than 800 injured, the state news agency Xinhua reported.

The unrest pitted Uighurs, a long-aggrieved Muslim minority, against the Han Chinese, who increasingly dominate the far-flung Xinjiang region. With the death toll climbing over the course of the day, the violence appeared to be far deadlier than that last year in the Tibetan region.

Images from the city of 2 million showed flames raging from overturned cars and black smoke billowing over downtown.

Urumqi was virtually closed down today, with vehicles barred in much of the city, telephone lines and the Internet down.

Chinese bloggers wrote that at least one bomb exploded during the incident and that about 100 public buses were destroyed.

The Chinese government accused Uighur exiles in the U.S. of masterminding what was described by state television as a rampage of "beating, smashing, robbing and burning."

But representatives of the Uighurs, a Muslim minority, countered that they were holding a peaceful demonstration that turned ugly because of government brutality....

Right. You know that any violence between Muslims and non-Muslims is never the fault of the Muslims.

Fireworks depicting Uncle Sam fighting Muslims withdrawn

Fireworks called Run Hadji Run were pulled off the shelves of a Wisconsin store after Minnesota Muslims complained that they were racist.

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) said that the name and the packaging are demeaning. One side of the package has a drawing of Uncle Sam yanking the long beard of a man in traditional Muslim attire, while the other shows a Stealth bomber flying over a group of Arabs riding camels. In addition, "Hadji" is an honorific for those who have completed the pilgrimage to Mecca.

"I've seen other fireworks that I thought were pushing the line on being offensive, but this clearly went too far," Jessica Zikri, the communications director of CAIR-MN, said Saturday. "Hopefully, this will help keep other groups from being targeted this way."...

I love the name. The muslims need to grow some skin.

American Muslims raise $70K for Terror Suspect

A Muslim group in America has raised $70,000 and is also asking Pakistan to release $2M for Afia Siddiqui’s legal defense. If Pakistan does, it essentially means U.S. taxpayers are funding the defense of an individual suspected of waging Islamic jihad against U.S. troops and planning terrorist attacks on U.S. sites. Congress recently approved nearly $3 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds to Pakistan. Is this how they are spending our money? via Pakistan Observer:

American Muslim community has raised about $70,000 for Dr. Afia Siddiqui’s defense, at a fund raiser held by the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) which has established a special legal defense fund for Dr. Afia who is currently in detention at the Carswell Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She is awaiting trial and awaiting a final conclusion on her competency to stand trial. Doctors feel she is suffering due to torture. Addressing a gathering of about 300 guests at the Muslim Community Center of Santa Clara, Dr. Agha Saeed, President of Pakistan American Democratic Forum, urged the government of Pakistan to release two million dollars it pledged for the legal defense of Dr. Afia who has become a symbol of Pakistan peoples struggle for Justice. He said that at least 1.7 million dollars are required for her defense.

When Aafia Siddique was captured she allegedly had in her possession maps of New York, a list of potential targets that included the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the subway system, and detailed chemical-biological radiological weapon information. (ABC News Photo Illustration)
Siddiqui was taken into custody following her July capture in Afghanistan and extradited to New York in August on charges of attempted murder following a shootout with security personnel who were questioning her.

Siddiqui was wanted by the FBI as far back as 2004 for her alleged connections to al Qaeda. The indictment charges that when Siddiqui, a former MIT student, was detained by Afghan National Police, she was in possession of a document which mentioned, “Mass Casualty Attack” and listed various landmarks in New York, including Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty.

Her husband confirms his suspicions of Siddiqui’s violent nature and extremist views:

“I was aware of Aafia’s violent personality and extremist views and suspected her involvement in Jihadi activities. My fear later proved to be true when during Uzair Paracha’s trial in the US in 2004, the real purpose of Aafia’s trip to the US (between December 23, 2002 and January 3, 2003) was revealed.”

Elaborating, Dr Amjad disclosed that he later learnt from media reports that Aafia’s family claimed she made this trip to the US for job interviews in December at a time when universities were closed for winter holidays. “I also found it very odd that on the one hand Aafia insisted on leaving the US after September 11, 2001, claiming the country was unsafe for us and our children because the US government was abducting Muslim children, and on the other hand took the risk of travelling to that country again without fearing that she may be captured and may never see our children again.”

Gaza destruction want on: Amnesty

Amnesty International said yesterday Israel inflicted “wanton destruction” in the Gaza Strip in attacks that often targeted Palestinian civilians during an offensive in December and January in the Hamas-run enclave.

The London-based rights group, in a 117-page report on the 22 days of fighting, also criticised the Islamist movement Hamas for rocket attacks on Israel, which it called “war crimes”. Among other conclusions, Amnesty said it found no evidence to support Israeli claims that Gaza guerrillas deliberately used civilians as “human shields”, but it did, however, cite evidence that Israeli troops put children and other civilians in harm’s way by forcing them to remain in homes taken over by soldiers.

Amnesty International said some 1,400 Palestinians were killed in Israel’s Operation Cast Lead, including 300 children and hundreds of innocent civilians, a figure broadly in line with those from the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza and the independent Palestinian Centre for Human Rights. The Israeli military put the Palestinian death toll at 1,166 of whom 295 were civilians. Thirteen Israelis were killed, including three civilians, during the offensive Israel launched with the declared aim of curtailing cross-border rocket attacks.

Accusing Israel of “breaching laws of war”, Amnesty said:

“Much of the destruction was wanton and deliberate, and was carried out in a manner and circumstances which indicated that it could not be justified on grounds of military necessity.”

Israel and Hamas have both rejected accusations of war crimes. An Israeli military inquiry found no evidence of crimes. Israel has refused to co-operate with a UN inquiry that is now gathering evidence. The investigators were prejudiced against Israel from the outset, the government said.

Amnesty said although that rockets fired by Palestinian militants from the Gaza Strip rarely cause casualties but often sow fear and panic, their use was “indiscriminate and hence unlawful under international law”.

It also accused Hamas and other armed groups of endangering the lives of the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza by firing rockets and locating military equipment near homes.

The report however dismissed Israeli claims that Hamas had used Palestinian civilians as “human shields”.

Amnesty said it found no evidence that “Hamas or other armed groups forced residents to stay in or around buildings used by fighters, or that fighters prevented residents from leaving buildings or areas which had been commandeered by militants”.

But the report said in several cases Israeli soldiers used Palestinian civilians, including children, as “human shields, endangering their lives by forcing them to remain in or near houses which they took over and used as military positions”.

Muslims use their own people as human shields all of the time. There is video of a mortar be fired from a UN school. Couple shot dead for eloping - police

RELATIVES of a Pakistani teenager who eloped and married without parental consent shot her dead in a raid on her new home which also killed her husband and in-laws, police said.

Dressed in police uniforms, dozens of relatives attacked the bridegroom's house in the district of Charsadda, in North West Frontier Province.

"The assailants took the bridegroom out while some of the attackers climbed the wall and entered the house. They killed the bride, the mother and sister of the bridegroom,'' said Charsadda district police official Saleem Jan.

"They beat them first and then shot them dead,'' he told AFP.

The groom's father was also killed, another police official told AFP from Sardheri village in Charsadda.

The bride was aged 18 to 19 and the groom 29 to 30.Police said the teenager, from the deeply conservative Mardan district next to Charsadda, had run away and recently married without telling her parents.

"Both the girl and man married some weeks ago,'' the bridegroom's uncle Misal Khan told reporters at the scene.

"The attackers were headed by the (paternal) uncle, cousin and maternal uncle of the girl. One of the attackers left his police uniform at the site. They also left one mobile phone in a pocket of the uniform,'' he added.

Police said the main suspects were two uncles and a cousin.

"We have registered a case against three relatives of the girl and their unknown accomplices,'' police official Saleem Jan tsaid.

Human rights groups have strongly condemned the practice of honour killings in Pakistan, which claim the lives of hundreds of women each year.

Amnesty International says many killings are unreported and in almost all cases the perpetrators, who are often close family members, go unpunished. In 2005, Pakistan's then president Pervez Musharraf introduced the death penalty for honour killings.

Father exchanges eight-year-old for a second bride

KARACHI: Police have detained a middle aged man alleged to have married his under age daughter in ‘Watta Satta’, along with the Qazi (cleric) who performed the nikah ceremony and the ‘husband’.

Zahida, 8, a minor belonging to a low-income Siraiki family that hails from Liaquat Pur, Punjab and is presently living in Azam Basti within the limits of Mehmoodabad police station (Jamshed Town). Her father, Abdul Rasool, 50, is a mason by profession and wanted to marry Haseena, 19. Haseena is a married woman, the mother of two children and happens to be related to him. Zahida is the eldest among Rasool’s three daughters. Rasool married his daughter to Haseena’s younger brother Dilshad, 17. Her nikah was performed on June 25 by Qari Naqeeb Ali Shah and her rukhsati was supposed to take place on July 1.

The police took action after her mother informed Union Council (UC) 3 Naib Nazim Aurangzaib about the incident. At first, the police detained Zahida’s father and then conducted a raid on a mosque from where they were able to detain Shah. The police also took Dilshad into the custody and is looking for the arrests of witnesses who were present at the nikah till the time this report was filed.

According to Zahida’s mother Perveen, her husband married Zahida in exchange for his marriage to Dilshad’s sister Haseena. The girl’s mother further said that her husband also played a role in breaking Haseena’s marriage and her divorce case is pending in court.

Naqeeb Shah, who is not a registered ‘nikah khawan’ has denied his involved with the case. “I did not see the girl while performing the nikkh. Before the nikah, the witnesses told me that the girl’s age is 16,” Shah said. He confirmed the presence of three witnesses and also the girl’s father at the time when the nikkah was performed.

“They had covered the girl with her ‘dupatta’. I did have a doubt when I saw her hands when she was placing her thumb impression on the nikkah nama but her father assured me that she was old enough,” Shah added.

Zahida says that she had no idea what a nikkah means, adding that she was instructed to say yes. “I was told to say ‘yes’ three times and asked to give my thumb impression,” she said.
However, she defended her father and said that he was innocent.

“My father did not know what he was doing and he committed the act after he was made to drink something. At the time of my nikah, my father was not present,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rasool has also denied his involvement in the case and said that he was given a drink laced with some medicine. “I was not present during the nikah ceremony and I have no recollection of it,” he added.

The police have detained all the arrested men under section 9 of Child Marriage Restrain Act (1925) and they would be produced in front of the magistrate today (Monday). Jamshed Town SP Javed Akbar Riaz said that the magistrate has the authority to take any decision in this regard. It is possible that Dilshad’s father would also be detained.

At least 85 separate sharia "courts" are now openly functioning in Britain, almost 20 times as many as previously believed, a report by Civitas claims.

A study by the thinktank found that scores of unofficial tribunals and councils regularly apply Islamic law to resolve domestic, marital and business disputes, many operating in mosques.

It led to claims of a "creeping" acceptance of sharia principles in British law, but the Muslim Council of Britain dismissed the report as "scaremongering".

The study follows the outcry over remarks by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, last year that the adoption of aspects of Muslim law in Britain, such as in divorce proceedings, "seems inevitable".

Lord Phillips, who was then the Lord Chief Justice, attracted controversy by saying that there was "no reason why" sharia principles could not form the basis of mediation in disputes.

Some decisions of Islamic tribunals are already considered legally binding and could theoretically be enforced in civil courts in England and Wales.

Other officially recognised bodies can agree to grant Muslim "divorces" as part of a parallel system of religious law in Britain.

"This whole business is creeping up on us without anyone really noticing," said Dr David Green, director of Civitas.

DHAKA: A widow was whipped 202 times and a man 101 times following a fatwa by a religious leader for their alleged involvement in "anti-social activity" in a village in southeastern Bangladesh, prompting local protests and action by the police.

Piara Begum, a widow of 40, and Mamun Miah, 25, were whipped before hundreds of people at Khaiyar in Comilla district Saturday night.

The woman fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital. Doctors said she was critically injured and needed to be given intensive treatment.

Miah was whipped 101 times, The Daily Star newspaper said Monday.

Punishment under a fatwa is held illegal as per a high court ruling of 2001 in Bangladesh that has a predominant Sunni Muslim population.

The police arrested six people, including Moulana Mohammed Manirul Islam, a religious leader working in the local madrassa.

Piara Begum filed a case with the Debidwar police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

I wonder if she passed out before they were done with the 202 lashings? If she did, when she gets better, they will be finishing the punishment.

UN rights mission hears of Gaza children's suffering

GAZA CITY : A UN human rights mission listened to testimony about the suffering of children in the Gaza Strip on Monday before wrapping up two days of public hearings into alleged Israeli war crimes.

Around 20 percent of children in Gaza suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome brought on by witnessing violent acts, child psychologist Dr Iyad Sarraj told the panel.

"The amount of killing and blood that they have seen or that their relatives have suffered from... it's a huge amount, and this leads to negative psychological feelings, to radicalism and a cycle of violence," he said.

More than half of Gaza's population of 1.5 million is under 18 years of age.

The public hearings are part of the UN Human Rights Council's investigation of the 22-day Israeli offensive launched in late December that killed about 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis.

The Red Cross meanwhile said in a new report that six months after the devastating offensive Palestinians in the impoverished coastal territory are "unable to rebuild their lives and are sliding ever deeper into despair."

Israeli and Egyptian sanctions imposed on Gaza after Hamas seized power in June 2007 have crippled reconstruction efforts and caused widespread misery, according to the study by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

"The poorest residents in particular have exhausted their coping mechanisms and often have to sell off their belongings to be able to buy enough to eat," said Antoine Grand, head of the ICRC sub-delegation in Gaza.

"Worst affected are the children, who make up more than half of Gaza's population," he added.

The UN mission in Gaza is headed by Richard Goldstone, a South African judge who previously served as chief prosecutor for international criminal tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.

On Sunday, the mission heard a wheelchair-bound man describe how an Israeli shell slammed into his home, killing 11 of his relatives and cutting off his legs. Another man described a strike on a mosque that killed 17 people.

The group was expected to look into several allegations of human rights violations that emerged in the aftermath of the assault, which Israel said was aimed at stemming Palestinian rocket fire from the Hamas-ruled enclave.

Israeli authorities have so far refused to allow the investigators into the country and have accused the mission of bias against the Jewish state.

"The mandate is so one-sided, no fair, thinking person could see it as objective," government spokesman Mark Regev said on Sunday.

"The UN Human Rights Council has over the last months and years totally discredited itself as a serious vehicle for advancing human rights."

The 47-member council voted by a large majority in January to probe accusations of "grave" human rights violations by Israel, but the team was later given a broader mandate to deal with "all violations" during the war.

Israel has insisted it made every effort to spare civilians, including dropping thousands of fliers warning residents to flee ahead of strikes.

It has also said that Palestinian fighters and rocket launchers operated in crowded residential areas, a charge also lodged by human rights groups against the Islamist Hamas movement ruling Gaza.

The group plans to hold similar hearings in Geneva in which they will interview witnesses and experts on alleged violations in Israel and the occupied West Bank, and to issue a final report by September 12.

The international community has pledged billions of dollars in aid to rebuild the territory, but reconstruction efforts remain paralysed by the closures, which prevent the import of virtually all building materials.

Nearly 60 Pakistani Air Force personnel arrested for jihadist connections in past two years

ISLAMABAD: An alarming trend of Pakistan air force personnel being discovered and even prosecuted for links with terrorists has come to light after a news channel exposé said that nearly 60 PAF personnel had been arrested on charges of having terror connections in the last two years. Interestingly, this time period coincides with a spurt in attacks on security targets and the rise of Pakistani Taliban.

Of these, six were sentenced to death and 26 sentenced to three-and-a-half to 17 years imprisonment for anti-state activities. A top PAF officer, who is also wanted, is still at large, the report said. Action against some of the officers began during former president Pervez Musharraf’s regime.

More arrests were undertaken after a PAF officer, identified by the TV channel as Mushtaq, was apprehended. As many as 57 officials have been arrested from Kamra, Lahore, Sargodha, Mianwali and Karachi.

The Pakistani military are neck deep in supporting the the terrorists. We all know this.

BRAMPTON, Ont. — The fate of the only man to have pleaded guilty to conspiring to set off bombs in downtown Toronto could hinge upon how much he knew about the terror plot.

Lawyers at the sentencing hearing for Saad Khalid offered competing theories today about the 22-year-old's state of mind concerning the plan to bomb the Toronto Stock Exchange, CSIS headquarters and an unspecified military base in the fall of 2006.

In a courtroom in Brampton, Ont., Crown attorney Croft Michaelson called Khalid "an active and enthusiastic" participant of the terror cell who was well aware the plot would harm or kill innocent civilians.

But Khalid's lawyer Russell Silverstein painted his client as knowing very little about the goals of the alleged ringleaders, suggesting they kept him "in the dark" about what the bombs would be used for.

Khalid, a member of the so-called Toronto 18, pleaded guilty in May to taking part in the plot....

He was involved in a bomb plot. He should be killed or put in jail forever.

The delegation planned to hold two days of public hearings as part of its investigation into alleged war crimes during the 22-day offensive launched in late December that killed about 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis.

The group is headed by Richard Goldstone, a South African judge who previously served as chief prosecutor for international criminal tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.

They listened as a young wheelchair-bound man named Ziad al-Deeb described how he had been sitting at home with his family, savouring a brief pause in the fighting, when Israeli forces began shelling his neighbourhood.

"We were shocked when we heard the loud noise coming from the Israeli shelling, then one of the missiles landed on top of us. There were 11 people killed," he said.

"My legs were cut off, and then I looked and saw my father and my family. Most of them had been killed. The children were screaming."

One of the investigators asked if there had been any warning before the strike.

"There was no warning," Deeb said. "If there had been, we would have left."

Later, they heard from the Samuni family, who draped a banner over a table bearing the pictures of 29 relatives, including several children, killed in one of the deadliest single incidents of the war.

In early January, an Israeli missile struck a house where dozens of family members had been ordered to take shelter by Israeli soldiers, killing nearly 30 people and leaving several others wounded and trapped in the rubble.

Rescue services were unable to reach the area for three days.

"All I want to know is why," Salah al-Samuni said as he choked back tears and held up pictures of some of the children, posing and smiling before the war and then as maimed corpses laid out on stretchers.

"Were they wanted by Israel, were they in the resistance? I really want to know," he said.

British High Court Worries More About Safety of Muslim Criminal than the British People

Just yesterday The Royal Courts of Justice ruled that :

"A judge ruled that the 'undesirable' immigrant, who 'embarked on a criminal career' in the UK and still poses a threat of further offending, must be freed from detention.........Daq, an alcoholic and drug addict, committed 18 offences between 1998 and 2004, using 13 aliases. They included robbery, assault and burglary. The High Court was told Ahmed Daq, 32, must be released on bail because the Home Office has already held him for three years to facilitate his removal from the UK but there is still no prospect of deportation. "

Now it's not like this thug has been a model prisoner:

"Over the past three years, he has been repeatedly in trouble for violent outbursts against other inmates, and detectives fear he will be a menace on the streets."

Yet once again the simpering, politically correct, British Courts are worried more about crooks then the British men, women and children.

"His [Daq] latest appeal hearing has been delayed as the legal debate continues over whether it is safe to return criminals and failed asylum seekers to the violent and war-torn east African state."

You know what? - WHO CARES?!?! Balloch woman stabbed in violent attempted murder

A BALLOCH woman was knifed repeatedly by a man she met through an arranged marriage website.
The woman’s family were also threatened by crazed Yasir Afsar as he burst into their home.
The High Court in Edinburgh last week heard how Afsar went berserk in the Balloch house after the relationship with his intended bride broke down.
He turned up on the woman’s doorstep at 6.30am, forcing his way into the family home by claiming he was a business colleague of their daughter.
Asfar, 32, from the Midlands, had felt that the mum and dad would never approve of him as he was of a ‘lower caste’.
But he couldn’t accept the affair was over, according to defence advocate Shahid Latif.
Mr Latif explained: “The relationship developed to such an extent that a love marriage as opposed to an arranged marriage was in contemplation.”
Advocate depute Keith Stewart, prosecuting, said, that when Afsar turned up at the family home, they said she was not in and he pointed to her car, saying ‘I’m going to see her’, pushing his way into the house.
The terrified victim locked herself in the bathroom as Afsar tried to force it open with a kitchen knife.
The court was told how he also threatened to kill her parents if she didn’t come out.
After a struggle, the woman’s father went downstairs to telephone police and her mum persuaded Afsar to come downstairs to talk.
The daughter left the bathroom, heading for her bedroom to telephone police but Afsar heard her, followed her into the room and pinned her down on her bed.
Mr Stewart continued: “He began to strike her repeatedly on the chest with the knife. He then placed his hands round her neck.”
The court was told how the mum bit Afsar on the arm then, fearing her daughter was dead, ran outside to shout for help from neighbours.
Afsar drove away – leaving his DNA on the handle of the broken and blood-stained knife. He was arrested three days later in Dover.
The terrified victim was rushed to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital where doctors found that two stab wounds to her chest had caused both lungs to collapse.
Mr Stewart said: “The medical view is that both chest wounds were serious and potentially life-threatening.”
In court, Afsar admitted attempted murder, and apologised for what he had done.
Sentencing Afsar to seven and half years, judge Lord Brodie told him: “What you have pleaded guilty to is the attempted murder of a young woman who – according to Mr Latif – at one stage you loved.”

And yet they keep letting these muslims come to their country.

Somali Islamists Cut Off Hands and Feet of 4 Thieves

MOGADISHU, Somalia — An Islamic court in Somalia on Thursday cut off a hand and foot from each of four men convicted of stealing phones and guns, drawing hundreds of onlookers as the weeping men were punished at a military camp.

The Shariah court that carried out the sentences is run by the powerful insurgent group al-Shabab, which is trying to topple Somalia's U.N.-backed government and install a strict form of Islam.

"The men were bleeding and crying when the man cut their hands and feet off with a long knife," said one witness, Liban Ali. Journalists were not allowed to cover the sentencing. The four were convicted earlier this week in the capital, Mogadishu.

The U.S. considers al-Shabab a terrorist group with links to al-Qaida, which al-Shabab denies. The group, which controls much of Somalia, is joined by hundreds of foreign fighters.

Somalis traditionally observe Sufi Islam, a relatively moderate form of worship. But in recent years, insurgents have begun to follow austere Wahabi Islam — rooted in Saudi Arabia and practiced by Osama bin Laden and the Taliban.

Somalia has not had an effective government since 1991 when the overthrow of a dictatorship plunged the country into chaos. A surge in violence in recent weeks, which diplomats said is a major push by the insurgents to force the government out of its Mogadishu strongholds, has killed about 225 people.

Last week, the national security minister and Mogadishu's police chief were among those killed.

The country's lawlessness has spread security fears round the region and raised concerns that al-Qaida is trying to gain a foothold in the Horn of Africa.

Somali lawmakers pleaded this weekend for immediate international military intervention from countries including Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti to help quash the insurgency. But there was no indication reinforcements would be forthcoming.

South African Media: Egypt Players Were Robbed By Prostitutes, Not Burglars

The South African media is claiming that an alleged robbery from the hotel rooms of some Egypt players on Thursday evening was nothing to do with burglars but with prostitutes.

On Friday, the Pharaohs’ team manager Inas Mazhar reported that $2,400 US had been stolen from the rooms of some players on the night the African champions defeated Italy 1-0 in the 2009 Confederations Cup.

City Press said on Sunday morning that police sources confirmed that there were no signs of forced entry and added that CCTV footage showed scantily-clad women moving around a number of hotel rooms during what seemed to be a party.

“The players must explain why their rooms were not broken into and why their room safes were not tempered with but they still lost money,“ an unnamed police source told City press.

Sunday World, another Johannesburg publication, quoted a police officer as saying, “we have confirmed that some of the players brought prostitutes whom they picked up on Oxford Road to their hotel rooms and we have strong suspicions that they were cleaned by ladies of the night.”

Security guards who guard the hotel told the same newspaper that: “when they (the players) ere robbed, they pointed their dirty fingers at hotel staff – that’s nonsense.”

The Egyptian team spokesperson was unavailable for comment.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will open a representative office and appoint an ambassador to Brussels to fight more effectively against Islamophobia in Europe.

“This office will provide the West and Islam the opportunity to work coherently,” said Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, the Turkish secretary-general of the organization, to Today's Zaman.

The office will cooperate with the European Parliament and the European Council to develop the initiatives for interfaith and intercultural dialogue and institute contacts with nongovernmental organizations. The office will also be effective in efforts aimed at preventing discrimination against Muslims and fighting anti-Islam propaganda. “Of course fighting anti-Islam propaganda is one of the main aims of the office. Intercultural and interfaith dialogue constitute the priorities of the office in Brussels,” İhsanoğlu said.

İhsanoğlu, who had talks in Washington this week, will meet with the Belgian minister of foreign affairs in Brussels in the coming days. An agreement regarding the establishment of the OIC office in Brussels will be signed at the meeting.

Then they can work to erode free speech and expression from within Europe: You know, wage jihad smarter, not harder!

OIC officials are concerned that most of the actions considered by the public as Islamophobic took place in European countries; thus, the OIC believes better contact with official European institutions and the public is vital.

A cartoon crisis that stemmed from the publishing of cartoons in Denmark insulting the Prophet Muhammad in September 2005 strained relations between Islam and the West. The idea of opening an office in Brussels was explained by İhsanoğlu to European politicians with whom İhsanoğlu negotiated during the cartoon crisis.

The OIC already has offices in New York and Geneva. The new office in Brussels will advance relations between Europe and the Muslim world. “With this office, we can create close institutional cooperation with the member countries of the European Union,” İhsanoğlu said.

Israel agrees to limit IDF activity in Palestinian cities

Israel has agreed to largely keep its forces out of four West Bank cities to try to boost a Palestinian security campaign supported by Washington, Israeli and Palestinian security sources told Ynet on Thursday.

The sources said Israel agreed to refrain from entering Bethlehem, Ramallah, Jericho and Qalqilya, except in cases where the army believes terrorists are poised to attack Israelis.

The agreement was reached following a meeting between Israeli officials from the Civil Adminsitration [sic] and top Palestinian security officials held in Bethlehem Wednesday evening.

According to the agreement, Palestinian forces will be allowed to operate in the aforementioned cities 24 hours a day; up until now they were authorized to operate from midnight to 5 am.

It was further decided that Israel would inform the Palestinian Authority of any security-related developments that may demand IDF intervention in territories controlled by the Authority.

The Palestinians hope that the increased cooperation will eventually result in the easing of restrictions on the Palestinian population....

Hamas says has no knowledge of Shalit's life

The Islamic Hamas movement on Thursday said it cannot confirm or deny if the captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit is still alive.

"The crazy war on the Gaza Strip wiped out everything so we don't know if Shalit is still alive or if he has died," Osama al-Muzini, a Hamas official authorized to speak on this issue, told Xinhua, referring to a 22-day Israeli offensive against the Hamas-controlled territory in January.

Al-Muzini, however, said Israel has to go ahead with talks to exchange Shalit for a number of Arab prisoners "whether the soldier was dead or alive."

"The Zionist enemy has to pursue negotiations without any signal confirming or denying this argument," al-Muzini added.

Thursday marks the third anniversary of Shalit's capture by Hamas-led Gaza militants in a cross-border raid at his military base near the Gaza Strip.

The Islamic Hamas movement wants Israel to free hundreds of Palestinian and Arab prisoners, including all youngsters, women and the elder, in return for the captive.

Moreover, al-Muzini denied reports that Egypt, which mediates between Hamas and Israel, has made some progress in bridging the gaps between Hamas and Israel.

"The issue is still marking time and the contacts are weak, there are no new proposals," he said, adding that the reports were "trial balloons the Zionist enemy releases."

He reiterated that Israel has to accept the captors' demands as the only possible solution to Shalit's case.

Muslim leaders condemn Sarkozy over burqa ban

Muslim leaders in Britain have warned that President Nicolas Sarkozy's calls for the burqa to be banned in France risk fuelling hostility towards Islam.

The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) said Mr Sarkozy's claim that the head-to-toe garments worn by Islamic women signify subservience were "patronising and offensive".
Its criticism comes after Mr Sarkozy used a policy speech on Monday to declare the burqa was "not welcome" in France.

In a move which threatens to reignite the debate over religious clothing in the country, Mr Sarkozy said: "The burqa is not a sign of religion, it is a sign of subservience.
"We cannot accept to have in our country women who are prisoners behind netting, cut off from all social life, deprived of identity."
The MCB reacted by calling on Mr Sarkozy to "desist from engaging in and promoting divisive politics" towards France's Muslim population.
Dr Reefat Drabu, assistant secretary general of the MCB, said in a statement: "It is patronising and offensive to suggest that those Muslim women who wear the burqa do so because of pressure or oppression by their male partners or guardians."
Speaking for the umbrella group of more than 500 Muslim organisations including mosques, charities and community groups, she added: "Such suggestions can legitimately be perceived as antagonistic towards Islam.
"Instead of taking a lead in promoting harmony and social cohesion amongst its people, the French President appears to be initiating a policy which is set to create fear and misunderstanding and may lead to Islamophobic reaction not just in France but in the rest of Europe too."
Mr Sarkozy's presidential address to a joint session of France's two houses of parliament stood in stark contrast to comments made by US President Barack Obama earlier this month.
In a speech in Cairo, Mr Obama said it is "important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practising religion as they see fit, for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear".
The MCB said its attack on Mr Sarkozy echoed Mr Obama's plea.
There are no official figures, but around 100,000 women are thought to wear the burqa in France.
France, home to an estimated five million Muslims, passed a law in 2004 banning headscarves or any other "conspicuous" religious symbol in state schools in a controversial bid to defend secularism.
A group of 58 MPs from the Left and Right has called on Parliament to take action against women adopting what they called oppressive Islamic dress that "breaches individual freedoms".
Last year a Moroccan woman was refused French citizenship after social services said she wore a burqa and was living in "submission" to her husband.
In Britain, Jack Straw caused controversy in 2006 when he suggested that Muslim women should abandon wearing the burqa because it was a "visible statement of separation and difference".
Mr Straw, then the Leader of the House of Commons, faced criticism from Muslim groups after disclosing that he asked women to remove their veils at meetings in his constituency office in Blackburn, Lancs.
The MCB said its stance reflected its long established position that individuals must have the freedom to choose their attire on the basis of their religious beliefs.
Shahid Malik, the Communities Minister, said on Tuesday: "It is not the job of government to dictate what people should or should not wear in our society – that is a matter of personal choice.
"There are no laws stating what clothes or attire are acceptable and so whether one chooses to wear a veil or burqa, a miniskirt or goth outfit is entirely at the individual's discretion.
"It is true that many Muslims feel the veil and its rationale are misunderstood and so sensible discussion provides an opportunity to create a better understanding and ultimately ensures we are more at ease with the diverse society within which we live."
Muslim and non-Muslim groups in Britain have supported Mr Sarkozy’s claims and called for the burka to be banned here.
Douglas Murray, director of the think-tank the Centre for Social Cohesion, said: “There is nothing in the Koran that justifies the covering of women in what amounts to a black sack.”
Diana Nammi, of the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation in London, added: “I fully support President Sarkozy. The burka isolates women.”

KUWAIT CITY : A 23-year-old Asian woman is reported to have fallen victim to the lust of four unidentified persons who kidnapped her to an apartment in Hawally, raped her successively and released her after satisfying their lust.
Reportedly, the victim rushed to the police station and filed a case moments after her ordeal was over. She provided detailed description of the suspects, including their car registration number to the police to facilitate investigations. A case was registered.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, a Filipino woman in her 30s filed a complaint at the Farwaniya police station she escaped a kidnap attempt on Sunday.
Security sources quoting the woman said she was walking along the street at night when two persons dressed in national attire alighted from a car and approached her.
She stressed one of the men made an effort to bind her as the other endeavored to push her inside the car. The woman added she resisted and began to scream, compelling the kidnappers to flee.
Meanwhile, the case has been registered, and the suspects are being trailed by police.

Toronto 18: Details of alleged bomb plot revealed

Details unfolded yesterday at a sentencing hearing about a meticulous plan to bomb three buildings in the so-called Toronto 18 bomb plot of 2006.

In a statement of facts released yesterday in a Brampton courtroom, Saad Khalid, 22, admitted to playing a role in planning the foiled attacks, which co-conspirators allegedly said would be greater than the planned London subway bombings of 2005.

Khalid is the first accused to plead guilty in the case. The attack was allegedly set for a morning in mid-November 2006.

The statement alleges Khalid’s co-conspirators planned to target the Toronto Stock Exchange, the CSIS headquarters on Front Street in Toronto, and an unidentified military base, off Highway 401 between Toronto and Ottawa.

Three U-Haul vans were to be rented with fake identification, packed with explosives and detonated remotely, the statement says. One of the co-accused made the detonators and tested them himself, the 37-page document reads. The bombings were to occur on three consecutive days, rather than simultaneously.

The group communicated using pagers and USB memory sticks to pass around instructions, the statement says, so they did not have to use emails or cellphones.

An undercover police agent was enlisted by the group to procure nitric acid and ammonium nitrate for the bombs, the statement says.

The statement also says one of Khalid’s co-accused told the undercover agent that he wanted the attacks to occur on Sept. 11 2006, so the date would be remembered forever.

The co-accused allegedly said the attack’s purpose was to affect the economy, and that he hoped the bombing would encourage Canada to pull troops from Afghanistan.

Four youths and 14 men were charged in a police bust under the Anti-Terrorism Act in the summer of 2006. Charges against seven of the suspects have since been stayed.

By pleading guilty, Khalid, of Mississauga, Ont., is the first member of the group to admit a bomb plot existed.

He was charged with knowingly participating in a terrorist group, receiving training for the purpose of enhancing the ability of a terrorist group and intending “to cause an explosion of an explosive substance that was likely to cause serious bodily harm or death.” He pleaded guilty to the last count.

The identities of Khalid’s co-accused are under a publication ban. The trials for the other accused adults are expected to begin next year.

David Kolinsky, who represents another of the accused, said the statement does not change anything for his client.

Khalid’s lawyer did not return the Post’s request for comment. The sentencing hearing is expected to continue all week.

'Terror commander' loses appeal

An Afghan asylum seeker in Glasgow who fought against Nato-led forces in his homeland has lost his appeal against deportation from the UK.

Dawalat Khan Nasir, 34, was a former commander with the banned Islamist group Herzb-e-Islami Gulbuddin (Hig).

He entered the UK illegally in 2006 and claimed asylum on the grounds he was at risk of persecution in Afghanistan.

Judges at the Court of Session said his past meant he could not be shielded by human rights legislation.

The court heard that Nasir took part in attacks against the Nato-led mission in Afghanistan.

He took over his father's role as commander in Hig - a mujahideen group founded by former Afghan prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar - when he was killed as the Americans moved in to overthrow the Taliban.

Nasir used Hig money to fund his departure from Afghanistan and fled by plane and lorry before entering Britain illegally in July 2006.

He made an application for asylum claiming that since childhood he had been involved with Hig - a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.

In October last year, Nasir, who has been living at a flat in Glasgow, was told by the Home Office that his asylum application had been rejected.

He challenged the decision but his case was rejected by a senior immigration judge.

His case came before the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Tuesday, which upheld the decision to deport him.

Afghan attacks

Nasir had claimed there was insufficient evidence of his participation in Hig acts which were contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations and that he should be afforded protection under human rights legislation and the Geneva Convention.

But Lord Hardie, who heard the case with Lord Reed and Lord Carloway, concluded that he was aware of Hig activities and aims and was excluded from the convention's protection.

Lord Hardie said: "At the time of his father's death the applicant was actively participating in the acts of Hig, including attacks against the International Security Assistance Force.

"He must have been aware at that time of the aims, methods and activities of Hig.

"Thereafter he became a commander in Hig and was involved in the planning of acts, including issuing orders to obtain guns.

"As a result of his involvement with Hig the applicant is excluded from the protection of the Geneva Convention."

He is excluded from the Geneva Convention? So following that logic, all of the guests at Club GITMO are exempt from the Convention as well.

While classified as a Loitering Munition, the HAROP comes equipped with many of the usual UAV capabilities: high-performance FLIR and color CCD camera with 360-degree hemispherical coverage, allowing it to transmit video back to its operators just like a surveillance drone.

Like its predecessor the Harpy, the HAROP will be used to take out high-value targets such as air defense radars that transmit a strong tractable pulse. But there's nothing to indicate it can't home-in on a cell phone call from a moving car. Fortunately, the developer, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), has thoughtfully included a Man in the Loop feature that enables the missile to be controlled in real time in case an attack needs aborting to avoid collateral damage.

The HAROP can be launched from a variety of platforms, including a ground vehicle. Launched out the box on a booster rocket, it unfold its wings, starts up an internal-combustion driven pusher propeller, and begins the hunt. Once a target is identified, it can crash "from any direction and at any attack angle, from flat to vertical which is highly essential in urban areas."

IAI has reportedly already signed a $100 million-plus contract to supply the lethal loiterers to an unidentified customer. Throwaway UAVs may do for IAI what disposable razors have done for Gillette.

Mich. judges given say in court dress

LANSING, MI - The Michigan Supreme Court has voted to give judges authority over how witnesses dress in court after a Muslim woman refused to remove her veil in a small claims case.

A statewide court rule letting judges regulate the appearance of witnesses, such as asking them to remove face coverings, was approved by a 5-2 vote. The dissenters said there should be an exception for people whose clothing is dictated by their religion.

Justices heard last month from a Muslim woman who sued because her small claims case was dismissed when she refused to remove her veil.

Judges argued that they should be able to exercise reasonable control over the appearance of parties and witnesses to observe their demeanor and ensure they're accurately identified.

UK: Women forced to marry under sharia are "really messed up"

NEW legislation has failed to stop forced marriages taking place, according to an Enfield support group.

Ila Bel, from Enfield Saheli, in Fore Street, Edmonton, said her charity was seeing an increasing number of women who were "really messed up” after being forced to marry under Sharia law.

In September, the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act came into effect making forced marriages unlawful, following a campaign by MP Ann Cryer.

At a conference in Westminster organised by Enfield's South Asian Forum, Mrs Cryer said she had been prompted to take action to prevent forced marriages when she realised fathers were asking her for help with visas for new husbands to be brought to Britain, against the will of their daughters...

Brisbane woman raped then jailed for sex in United Arab Emirates

A BRISBANE woman was jailed for eight months in the United Arab Emirates for claiming she was raped by three men after her drink was spiked in a hotel bar.

The woman, identified only as Amanda, said she ordered one drink from the bar in the United Arab Emirates hotel she was staying, but then remembered nothing until waking up the next afternoon.

Amanda, interviewed on ABC radio this morning, said she was arrested after reporting her rape to police and later sentenced to 11 months' jail for having illicit sexual relations and one month for consumption of alcohol.

"I don't remember anything except for having that drink ... in one way that's a good thing but from what happened following, it's still an extremely traumatising,'' she said.

She was released five months ago after securing a royal pardon after serving eight months, and is now home in Australia.

She said the jails were overcrowded, inmates were often beaten and the water was frequently turned off.

Amanda said she had extensively researched the customs of the largely Muslim country before living there, but was not aware of the laws surrounding women and sex and drinking.

"It was such a glamorous lifestyle and at the moment there are so many Australians working over there,'' she said. "It is a very glamourous lifestyle and you can make a lot of money but unfortunately there's the other side that people just aren't aware of.''

She said four high-ranking muslim men had to witness penetration to prove a rape charge, so women who reported rapes were typically seen as confessing to illicit sexual relations or prostitution.

"I can move on, and I'm working on that, part of my process is to help other people with awareness of what's going on and making changes,'' she said.

Amanda met with several state MPs this week to tell her story. Amnesty International's Michael Hayworth said he sent a letter to United Arab Emirates officials, asking them to comply with United Nation's Women's Rights Conventions and remove discriminatory laws.

UK: Muslim prisoners complain about sharing cells with infidels, are accommodated

A prison has agreed to give Muslims their own cells after they complained about sharing with other inmates.

They were said to be unhappy at praying and eating near non-Muslims at Birmingham’s Winson Green jail.

It is thought to be the first time inmates have been segregated by religion. Prison bosses have decided to place them with other Muslims, or give them single cells when space is available.

More than 1,400 inmates, including murderers and robbers, are housed at the jail.

‘So far around 15 Muslim inmates have been accommodated either by being moved to a cell with another Muslim or put on their own,’ said a prison source. ‘They initially asked for their own wing but this was turned down.’

In June 2006, a High Court judge warned that Ministers must find cash to cope with growing prison numbers and called for an end to forced cell sharing. Mr Justice Keith’s concerns were included in his report into the racist murder of Asian prisoner Zahid Mubarek by his cellmate Robert Stewart at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London.

The judge called for a new concept of ‘institutional religious intolerance’ to combat prejudice against Muslim inmates.

Aren't these guys in prison? Shouldn't they lose rights in prison? I say give them all a wing. It will keep them from converting the other prisoners.

There has also been concern among the 200-strong Muslim contingent in Winson Green about the halal meat served there. It had been prepared on site but, after complaints, is now brought in by an authorised supplier at what is thought to be extra cost.

On June 10, a letter was sent to Rabita Manzil, of the National Catholic Office for Social Communications in Lahore, second biggest city of Pakistan. It was handed over to a Christian women, who lives near the office by two masked men. The letter stated, “We know you are Christian. We warn you to leave this area, embrace Islam, pay 1,500,000 rupees (US$18,500) as jizya, or be ready to die in a suicide attack.”

According to the UCA News, Christians have received similar threats in various parts of the country as fighting between government troops and the Taliban militants continues to rage in the country's northwest. Sacred Heart Cathedral, several Catholic schools in Lahore, and various pastors have received threatening notes telling them to convert to Islam. Moreover, Church of Pakistan Bishop Mano Rumalshah of Peshawar, NWFP, said the churches in his diocese continued to receive threatening letters which say either become a Muslim, leave, or be killed....

A BRITISH engineer kidnapped in Yemen by armed killers was part of an evangelical group that may have been targeted as an act of revenge for its attempts to convert local Muslims to Christianity.

His captors have already killed three women members of the group and abducted a married couple and their three young children.

Yesterday, as his wife clung to the hope that he was alive, it was reported that two of the dead women – Anita Gruenwald, 24, and Rita Stumpp, 26, both German nurses - had “missionary materials” in their belongings when their bodies were found. Young-Sun Lum, 34, a South Korean teacher who called herself Magdalena after Jesus’s disciple, was the other victim.

They had been warned to stop trying to convert Muslims, according to German investigators. Mullahs had spoken out against their missionary activities and their books on Christianity had been confiscated....

DUBAI (Reuters) - If it were in a position to do so, Al Qaeda would use Pakistan's nuclear weapons in its fight against the United States, a top leader of the group said in remarks aired on Sunday.
Pakistan has been battling al Qaeda's Taliban allies in the Swat Valley since April after their thrust into a district 100 km (60 miles) northwest of the capital raised fears the nuclear-armed country could slowly slip into militant hands.

"God willing, the nuclear weapons will not fall into the hands of the Americans and the mujahideen would take them and use them against the Americans," Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, the leader of al Qaeda's in Afghanistan, said in an interview with Al Jazeera television.

Abu al-Yazid was responding to a question about U.S. safeguards to seize control over Pakistan's nuclear weapons in case Islamist fighters came close to doing so.

"We expect that the Pakistani army would be defeated (in Swat) ... and that would be its end everywhere, God willing."

“The burqa is not a religious sign, it’s a sign of servitude,” Sarkozy said today in a speech to both houses of parliament at the Versailles Palace on the outskirts of Paris. Calling it a violation of women’s “dignity and freedom,” Sarkozy said the burqa “will not be welcome on French soil.”

A group of French lawmakers have called for a total burqa ban. Sarkozy asked them to “open a debate” on the matter. Only a small minority of women wear burqas and the Opposition Socialist Party would favor a ban “of the burqa or the nikab,” Benoit Hamon, its spokesman, told Le Monde newspaper today.

The clothing rule would come five years after France outlawed head scarves and other “ostentatious” religious symbols, including large Christian crosses and Jewish skullcaps, in state offices and schools. The 2004 law prompted protests in France and criticism from some Muslim groups, including the second-in-command of al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Sarkozy’s speech today marked the first time a French president has addressed lawmakers since 1875 after a law preventing such direct communication was overturned last year.

Hamas, UN open their summer camps for Gaza children

The boys sat in circles on the massive green carpet and girls sat upstairs on the blue-colored ground of al-Shafei mosque in Gaza City, all reiterating phrases of the Quran.
The aim is to memorize as much as possible of the Muslim's holy book in a period of no more than two months, according to Islamic Hamas movement, which controls the Gaza Strip and sponsors the Quran summer camps across the impoverished enclave.
Salah Yassin, 14, was sitting at the head of a male circle, peeking at a copy of Quran to make sure that if another younger boy recited correctly. "I have taken a Quran-rules course in the mosque and now I'm passing my knowledge to these boys."
The "Summer without Boredom" program is one of the latest activities Hamas launched to permeate through the complex society in Gaza by attracting children to join its camps where they learn Quran, sports, basics of self defense and numerous skills.
"We want at least 10,000 students to memorize the entire Quran this summer," said Abdel Rahman al-Jamal, a Hamas lawmaker who also chairs the Quran and Sunna association.
But a few blocks down to the west of the mosque, groups of young girls rejoiced in joyful playing inside a beachside camp of bright-colored tents under a United Nations flag.
Unable to restrict the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) work, Hamas, which routed forces of secular president Mahmoud Abbas in June 2007, is racing with the international organization to flaunt the fringe benefits of its Islamic program. Abbas' Fatah movement is not allowed to hold any type of activities in the Gaza Strip.
Badria Shamalakh, 8, said she joined the UNRWA camp because it presents "many nice things" like water games, drawing, sports and swimming.
Nisreen, a young mother, used to send her two children to an UNRWA camp in the past four years. Today, she will send the girl to an Islamic camp "as a way of change" and the boy will continue his the UNRWA seaside camp.
"Mohammed is eager to go to his camp this summer after he learnt that there would be swimming pools there," Nisreen said about her son.
But Salah, who wants to be an Islamic religious teacher when he grows up, prefers to join the mosque-hosted camp rather than the UNRWA one. "In the mosque, there are better morals and treatment, but there (in the UNRWA) they don't care about prayer."
Salah believes that spending summer time inculcate the Quran provides you with countless benefaction. "When I die, I will go to heaven immediately and will be the happiest."

He will also be trained that martyrdom is the fastest was to get there. He will then be ready to blow himself up to attain a goal that will never, ever happen.

The UNRWA-run camps are good too, said Salah's grandfather Abu Yousef Yassin. "But here it is still better because the pupil will remain polite."
Every morning, Abu Yousef walks to the mosque with Salah and three granddaughters, monitoring their progress in the lessons. "They have completed memorizing three Sura (chapters) in one week," the white-bearded man said proudly.
Dr. Fadel Abu Heen, a respected independent sociologist, said the families became badly affected with the political rift between the Palestinian factions. "Those who are against the Islamic trend and want to send their children to a summer camp find no place but the UN camps."
The organizers of the camps have their own goals "and some of them could be political since the political groups stand behind many of these camps," he added.
In eastern Gaza City alone, Hamas has opened 40 summer camps, hoping that up to 4,500 children aging between 6 and 17 would enroll, Mohammed al-Dalou, a Hamas official, added.
"We are teaching the children how to love al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Palestine," he explained, urging the families not to hesitate in sending their children to the camps "since they will be taught the principles of their religion too."

Boats To Set Sail From Cyprus To Gaza

On June 25th, the Free Gaza movement will set sail on its eighth mission to break Israel's horrific siege and collective punishment of 1.5 million Palestinians in the Gaza strip.

"The Israelis violated international law by ramming the boat I was on which was carrying medical supplies to Gaza. Therefore, I never got to Gaza. Especially after Operation Cast Lead, I want to go to Gaza, and if I'm lucky, one day, I'll also get to visit a free Palestine," said former Representative Cynthia McKinney, one of the passengers coming back.

Along with McKinney, 36 others will board the FREE GAZA , a fishing boat, and the SPIRIT OF HUMANITY, a small ferry loaded with building supplies such as cement, only a token of what is needed in Gaza, but a prelude to larger shipments the Free Gaza movement expects to take throughout the summer.

Mairead Maguire, the Nobel Peace Prize winner from Ireland is also going back, "I am going to Gaza to show my love and support for the people of Gaza who continue to suffer under Israeli siege and occupation, yet whose spirit of nonviolent resistance inspires all who believe in equality, freedom and justice," she stated.

"It is crucial that we continue sending boats to Gaza to challenge Israel's criminal closure on the Strip," said Huwaida Arraf, delegation leader of the June 25th voyage. "Gaza does not need our charity but needs us to stand up against the forces that continue to deliberately deny an entire people their human rights. International donors pledged over $4 billion to rebuild Gaza, and yet none of them are doing anything about the fact that Israel is not allowing any building supplies into Gaza, not to mention thousands of other items such as anesthetic, oxygen and cancer treatments, chlorine to treat the water supply as well as paper, books and toys for children, even tea and coffee have been banned."

Man kills sister in the name of ‘honour’

LAHORE: A man from Sabzazar has been arrested for allegedly killing his sister in yet another honour killing case on Thursday.

According to police, Iqbal strangled his 22-year-old sister Adeeba – in the presence of family members – for having illicit relations with a boy from their neighbourhood. The alleged murderer later asked his family members not to disclose the incident. The victim’s family planned to bury her in their native city of Khoshab, but locals informed the police and Iqbal was arrested. Police have recovered the body and shifted it to the city morgue for autopsy. Police said the girl was strangled to death with a piece of cloth, which had also been confiscated as evidence. A first information report (FIR) has been registered against Iqbal and investigations are underway.

And we are always told that honour killings have nothing to do with islam. Why don't we hear of Jewish, Christian, Buddist or Athiest honour killings? Could it be that muslims are just barbarians?

The judge says this is all about crowd control issues, but it is hard not to notice the fact that Islam frowns on proselytizing by other religious groups. Given the general accommodationist spirit sweeping across Obama's America in these heady days, it's highly coincidental that a group engaging in an activity that Islamic law forbids and that Muslims generally hate would be squelched, now, isn't it? A federal judge sided with the city of Dearborn today in a dispute with a Christian group over the distribution of religious literature during an upcoming Arab festival. The decision stems from a lawsuit filed this week by a Christian group who says the city of Dearborn is denying it the right to roam the Arab International Festival to hand out religious literature.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds denied a motion from the Christian group for a temporary restraining order that would have prohibited the city from restricting the group from handing out literature, according to a release from the group’s attorneys.

CAIR-NY Welcomes City Council Vote on Muslim Holidays in Schools

Resolution 1281, passed overwhelmingly by the New York City Council Education Committee, calls on the "New York City Department of Education to incorporate the Muslim holidays of Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha as observed school holidays in the school calendar for the city school district of the city of New York" and also asks that the state legislature "pass, and the Governor to sign into law, A.8108/S.5837, an Act to amend the education law, in relation to requiring that Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha be school holidays in the city school district of the city of New York."

The Coalition for Muslim School Holidays - a broad interfaith, inter-ethnic coalition of labor, community, civil rights, and religious organizations - also urged the entire city council to support including Muslim holidays in the school calendar.

"Today marks a positive step forward in the effort to provide a more inclusive educational environment for all students," said CAIR-NY Community Affairs Director Faiza N. Ali, who sits on the steering committee of the Coalition for Muslim School Holidays. "This resolution advances religious liberty, recognizes the growing Muslim population in New York and promotes our great city's values of diversity and inclusion."

She noted that the New York City area is home to some 1 million Muslims, one of the fastest growing and most diverse religious populations in the city. More than 90 percent of Muslim students attend public schools and one in eight public school students is Muslim.

CAIR offers a booklet, called "An Educator's Guide to Islamic Religious Practices," designed to promote diversity and accommodate Muslim students in educational institutions.

Student jailed for trying to fight British in Afghanistan

A gap-year student who vowed to battle British soldiers with a Koran in one hand and a Kalashnikov in the other has been jailed.

Mohamed Abushamma, 21, was intercepted by anti-terror police in Turkey as he attempted to travel to Afghanistan to join pro-Taliban fighters.

The youth hoped to enter Afghanistan via its northern border with Tajikistan, after trekking over the mountainous border between the two countries.

Once there, he hoped to join mujihadeen fighters engaged in bloody fighting with coalition troops.

At Croydon Crown Court yesterday, Judge Mr Justice Bean sentenced Abushamma to three-and-a-half years' imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to preparing for acts of terrorism.

His friend Qasim Abukar, 21, who travelled with him to Turkey, was cleared of the same offence by a jury earlier this month, despite going on the run in the middle of his trial.

Mr Justice Bean told Abushamma: "You have pleaded guilty to preparing for acts of terrorism. You decided to travel to Afghanistan to join the mujihadeen.

"In that country, you were seeking to overthrow the government by force, fighting against the government and the coalition forces, assisting them in order to advance the ideological cause of militant islamism.

"Fortunately, you were intercepted in Turkey before you could reach your destination.

"I accept that what you have done is nothing like as grave as actually committing a terrorist outrage, or even attempting one, but it is a grave and serious offence."[...]

Prosecutor Alison Morgan told the court than in an email sent to his father and sister before his departure for Turkey, Abushamma "clearly indicated that he would be fighting with a Koran in one hand and an AK47 in the other."

Abushamma, who was due to start a course at University College London in September last year, decided to fight violent Jihad after being radicalised by reading extremist websites.

His lawyer Imran Khan told the court his client was from an illustrious' family - his grandfather was a general and his great-grandfather was the first president of the Sudan.

His parents had sent him to study medicine in the Sudan, after he failed to get into medical school in Britain when he only got an A and two Bs at A-level, but he refused to stay there and returned to Britain.

He had also spent a year studying Arabic in Egypt.

That would be his problem right there. Studying arabic is code for being radicalized.

Mr Khan urged the judge to give his client a suspended sentence, telling the court that he had repented of his actions and was now working to try and dissuade other young people from extremism.

Abushamma, of Britannia Row, Islington, North London, admitted engaging in conduct in preparation for committing acts of terrorism.

Abukar, of Dartmouth Park Hill, Upper Holloway, North London, denied the same charge.

He was acquitted after claiming he thought he was going on a trekking holiday' when he travelled to Turkey, and that he had been deceived by his co-defendant.

He absconded halfway through his trial and has not been seen since.

He is in Turkey fighting with a koran in one hand and an AK in the other.

Saudi Arabia: Father has son arrested for "disobedience"

JEDDAH – A real estate businessman has been arrested under the orders of the General Commission for Prosecution and Investigation after his father accused him of “disobedience”, or “’Uqouq” in Shariah law, with the case now due to be heard at the Shariah Court in Jeddah.

The dispute reportedly began when the father wished to invest in his son’s successful real estate business and a five-year partnership agreement was signed between the two parties, but after two years the father began demanding large sums of money in profits he believed his investment had earned.

His son, however, provided him with details of the company’s turnover and further offered to let an independent auditor review the accounts, but his father rejected the proposal and said instead that his son should relinquish all his possessions to him.

When he refused, the father went to the police accusing his son of “uqouq”, or “disobedience.”

The police passed the case over to the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution which issued an arrest warrant for the son on the grounds that disobedience is a crime punishable by Shariah law, thereby transferring the issue to the Shariah Court in Jeddah, which is scheduled to hear the case on Saturday.

Mosque petrol bombed twice in a week

A BRAVE caretaker was hurt as he risked his life to save a mosque torched by arsonists in the second petrol bomb attack in a week.

Mohamed Koheeallee, 62, raced to tackle 7ft flames at the Greenwich Islamic Centre in Plumstead Road at 12.15am on Tuesday.
Grabbing a bucket of water, he extinguished the fire as it spread inside but when he opened a fire exit, he was engulfed by flames burning his arm and his face.
Choking with smoke inhalation and despite his injuries, he carried on dousing the fire until the mosque was safe but when he tried to tackle the source of the blaze he was pushed back by its intensity.
Holy texts, including the most sacred in Islam - the Koran - were burned.
Mr Koheeallee, who believes the attack was racially motivated, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns and was later discharged.
He said: "It makes me feel really bad to see the burnt holy scriptures.
If these people have a problem they should be brave enough to say it to my face, but not like this."
The caretaker had also dealt with another arson attack at the mosque which had been less serious but had taken place a week before at approximately the same time of night.
A chain that locks two heavy duty metal gates at the rear of the centre - which were put in place after the London 7/7 bombings - had been cut.
In March 2006, Mr Koheeallee was attacked in the mosque with a hammer, as reported in the Times.
The centre's director, Dr Tariq Abbasi, said "enough is enough," and has called on the new Greenwich borough commander Richard Wood to take action.
Dr Abbasi said: "This is as bad as it can get. Nobody deserves this. Seeing burnt copies of the Koran, the emotional impact has been devastating."
Monetary loss is one thing, the building can be re-built, but the emotional scars can last for years."
The Muslim community see this as a racist attack on a place of worship."If something like this happens anywhere in the world the reaction is not a good one."
We want the borough commander to take action and for council leaders to understand that we are not prepared to accept it."
He said a racist minority may have been encouraged after BNP members won seats in the European elections.
The latest attacks come after Romanians in Belfast this week had to seek sanctuary in a church after being targeted by mobs believed to have links to racist group Combat 18.
Plumstead councillor, Sajid Jawaid praised the bravery of Mr Koheeallee, and called for the community to unite against the "mindless cowards" who attacked the mosque.
Mr Jawaid said: "These people are trying to divide the communities and sow the seeds of hate."We must work together to create a stronger and diverse community in the borough."
A spokesperson for Greenwich Police said: "Officers attended the scene and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the London Fire Brigade."
A man suffering minor burns was taken by ambulance to a local hospital."Enquiries into the circumstances of the fire continue.
There have been no arrests.

Mother accused of starving daughter to death 'banned school from feeding other child snacks when he was hungry'

A mother accused of starving her seven-year-old daughter to death refused to take another child in her care to a dietician despite medical advice to do so, a court heard today.
Jurors at Birmingham Crown Court were told that Angela Gordon banned staff at the child's school from feeding him snacks when he was hungry.
Gordon is charged alongside her partner Junaid Abuhamza - with the murder of Khyra Ishaq, who died from malnutrition.
Dr Suraj Ahmed said teachers grew concerned about the young boy after he stole food from the plates of his classmates.
The child, who cannot be named, was seven years old when Dr Ahmed examined him in January last year.
The doctor, an assistant specialist in community paediatrics, said: 'The school was a little bit concerned because he always appeared to be hungry.'
'He was searching cupboards looking for food as soon as he got into school.
'At lunchtime he would grab food from the other children's plates and eat it and that was a cause for concern for the school staff.'
Weighing 22kg, the boy was below the average weight for his age.
Dr Ahmed said: 'I pointed this out to (Gordon) and said that he appeared not to be getting enough calories. I suggested that he might benefit from seeing a dietician but she was not keen on that. She was against it.
'She felt he was getting an adequate amount of calories at home and she didn't want the school to give him any snacks without her permission.'
Another medic who treated the boy at Birmingham's City Hospital after Khyra's death on May 17 last year said he had appeared 'obsessed' with food.
Dr Simil Bhimsaria said: 'He would approach anyone and ask for food all the time. He appeared quite obsessed with food throughout the time of his stay in hospital.'
Today a pathologist who attended a second post-mortem examination on Khyra's body on June 4 last year spoke of his shock at seeing her emaciated body.
Dr Roger Malcolmson told jurors that he had never seen such a high level of fat loss as that suffered by Khyra before her death.
Dr Malcolmson said he believed Khyra died from a bacterial infection but that the 'ultimate cause' of her death was malnutrition.
He told the jury: 'Taking everything into consideration, she was severely malnourished.
'I have never seen a similar case before. I believe in this case that the infection that caused Khyra's death was inevitably caused by her malnutrition.'
Dr Malcolmson added that there was no other 'credible or conceivable' natural cause of death.
Gordon, 34, and 30-year-old Abuhamza, both of Leyton Road, Handsworth, deny murder.
Abuhamza has pleaded guilty to cruelty charges relating to five children in his care and control.
Gordon denies the charges of child cruelty, which are alleged to have been committed between December 2007 and May 17 2008.

A public debate organised by banned Islamic sect Al Muhajiroun was cancelled today after an angry confrontation broke out over the segregation of men and women.
Management at the meeting's venue said 'fundamentalist thugs' forced the event to be called off after they physically prevented men and women sitting together.
Giles Enders, Chairman of the South Place Ethical Society, which runs Conway Hall in Holborn, London, said scuffles broke out over the group's heavy-handed approach.
The meeting came as the group's new leader, Anjem Choudary, issued a challenge to the Government to ban the group after it emerged it was reforming.
Al Muhajiroun has sparked controversy after he said he wanted Sharia law in Britain and called 9/11 terrorists the 'Magnificent 19'.
The group was hoping to hold its first public meeting in five years but Mr Enders said the group had broken the terms for its hire of the hall.
Today's debate, called Sharia Law Versus British Law, was intended to pit Choudary against Douglas Murray, director of right-wing think tank the Centre for Social Cohesion.
Taking to the stage, Mr Enders said: 'A group of thugs at the door have refused to let women in. I'm cancelling this meeting.'
He was cheered by a small group of women sitting in the balcony but was also heckled by many of the 100 or so men in the main hall.
Mr Choudary, who sat on stage during the scuffles and Mr Enders' announcement, then grabbed the microphone and after led chants saying: 'This is a victory for Osama Muslims'
But Mr Enders took the microphone back from Mr Choudary and ordered everyone in the hall to leave.
Alexander Hitchens, of the Centre for Social Cohesion, said his group was invited to the debate with Mr Choudary on the understanding that it would be held on neutral ground with no segregation.
He said he was greeted by members of Al Muharjiroun on the door before being barred from entering.
'We were led to believe it would be completely neutral,' he said.
Outside the hall, Mr Choudary criticised British society as 'dirty' and predicted that, within one or two decades, Muslims would be the majority here.
Asked why he was living here, he said: 'We come here to civilise people, get them to come out of the darkness and injustice into the beauty of Islam.'
Mr Murray, who arrived at the venue with his own security guards, said the platform of tonight's planned debate was 'completely unacceptable'.
He said: 'I'm perfectly willing to debate Anjem Choudary and Al Muhajiroun's ideas. His ideas are not difficult. They do not stand up.
'But it's very clear that this debate is not neutral. This was a segregated event, policed by Al Muhajiroun's guards.'
He added he had been led to the event under false pretences by a front organisation called Global Issues Society.
Mr Murray confronted Mr Choudary and his supporters in the street and the pair spoke for about 10 minutes.
Mr Choudary said he had not broken any laws and called to Muslims to join his group.
'We are not a proscribed group and it is not illegal to be a member,' he said.
'That's a challenge to the Government and to the media - we were not doing anything that was terrorist-related in the past.'
Accepting that the group would have to pay attention to laws which outlaw the glorification of terrorism, he said: 'We will have to choose our words a little bit more carefully.'
Opposition leaders called on ministers to act swiftly to implement a ban.
However, the Home Office said a ban could only be implemented if there was evidence that a group was involved with terrorism.
A spokesman said: 'Proscription is a tough but necessary power to tackle terrorism.
'Decisions on proscription must be proportionate and based on evidence that a group is concerned in terrorism as defined in the Terrorism Act 2000.
'Organisations which cause us concern, including those which might change their name to avoid the consequences of proscription, are kept under constant review.
'As and when new material comes to light, it is considered and the organisation reassessed as part of that process.'
Shadow security minister Baroness Pauline-Neville Jones said the ban would be a test as to whether the Government was serious about proscribing organisations which espouse extremism.
Former prime minister Tony Blair pledged to ban the group four years ago, but it was never outlawed while two splinter groups, Al Gurabaa and the Saviour Sect, were proscribed.
Al Muhajiroun was formed by radical preacher Omar Bakri Muhammad, who was later kicked out of Britain.
Mr Choudary's followers provoked outrage in Luton earlier this year when they protested against soldiers returning from Iraq.

KUWAIT CITY : Police have arrested an unidentified man for threatening to post his wife’s pictures on the Internet website. The pictures reportedly show the couple making love, reports Al-Rai daily.

It has been reported the couple got married when the wife was just 14 years old and there was an agreement between the couple not to have babies until the wife was 24 years old. When the time came she reportedly told the husband that she wants to have a baby and the husband turned down her wish.

When the wife threatened to nullify the marriage the husband threatened to post her pictures on the website.

After the arrest, the husband denied the allegations and also said he does not possess any of his wife’s clips, but later confessed to having them.

A case has been registered against the man and police have reportedly confiscated the pictures and clips from the man which was taken by Bluetooth without the knowledge of the wife.

So he was planning ahead?

Italy: MP in court to defend herself against death 'fatwa'

Bologna, 18 June (AKI) - An Italian MP and Muslim women's rights activist was due to give evidence to a court on Thursday over death threats allegedly made against her in a 'fatwa' or religious edict. Souad Sbai, MP for the ruling conservative People of Freedom party, was due to attend the court in the northern Italian city of Bologna as witness.

"I am today in Bologna to defend myself against a death 'fatwa' issued against me, for which I had to live in fear for quite some time," said Sbai in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI).

Akrane H., is accused of having issued the death threat in 2007 and accused Sbai of taking advantage of immigrants for personal gain."I call on God to act against you, in a way that he will expose you.

You are a very bad woman, begin to pray to God, leave work for men. "I have heard very bad things about you and you have thus been exposed as a 'massihia' (Christian)," Akrane wrote in a letter to Sbai.

The claim by Akrane is an accusation of apostasy, which under Islamic law calls for the death penalty, which can be carried out by any Muslim at any time.

"You are an opportunist. You use immigrants for profit-making. You Souad, are nothing and you have nothing to do with Islam and have no knowledge of fikh (religious jurisprudence)," the letter stated.

"You have your hair uncovered in the sight of God, and a woman who does not cover her head must be hanged by the hair. God will punish you for the evil you do to people," the letter continued.

Sbai, who is also president of the Moroccan Women's Association in Italy, said she hopes the judge will understand the severity of the death threat.

"Today's hearing could be the last hearing of the trial and I hope the judge understands the danger of this 'fatwa' and the seriousness of this issue," she told AKI.

Sbai said she was worried that Bologna's DIGOS or anti-terrorism police had no information about who she was, or her work in favour of abused Muslim women.

DIGOS also considered Akrane H. nothing more than an anarchist or an extreme-left political activist.

"This is not correct, because they are underestimating the 'Islamic value' of his words," she concluded.

ISTANBUL, June 16 (Compass Direct News) – A Cairo judge on Saturday (June 13) rejected an Egyptian’s convert’s attempt to change his identification card’s religious status from Muslim to Christian, the second failed attempt to exercise constitutionally guaranteed religious freedom by a Muslim-born convert to Christianity.

For Maher El-Gohary, who has been attacked on the street, subjected to death threats and driven into hiding as a result of opening his case 10 months ago, Saturday’s outcome provided nothing in the way of consolation.

“I am disappointed with what happened and shocked with the decision, because I went to great lengths and through a great deal of hardship,” he said.

El-Gohary follows Mohammed Ahmed Hegazy as only the second Muslim-born convert in Egypt to request such a change. El-Gohary filed suit against the Ministry of the Interior for rejecting his application in August last year.

In contrast to their angry chants and threats in previous hearings, lawyers representing the government sat quietly as Judge Hamdy Yasin read his decision in a session that lasted no more than 10 minutes, according to one of El-Gohary’s lawyers, Nabil Ghobreyal.

The judge rejected El-Gohary’s application even though the convert provided a baptism certificate and a letter of acceptance into the Coptic Orthodox Church that the judge had demanded.

“The judge said he will not accept the [baptism] certificate from Cyprus or the letter from Father Matthias [Nasr Manqarious],” said Ghobreyal. “Even if he gets a letter from the pope, the judge said he would not accept it, because the remit of the church is to deal with Christians, not to deal with Muslims who convert to Christianity; this is outside their remit.”

El-Gohary sounded perplexed and frustrated as he spoke by telephone with Compass about the verdict.

“The judge asked for letters of acceptance and baptism,” he said. “It was really not easy to get them, in fact it was very hard, but if he was not going to use these things, why did he ask for them in the first place? We complied with everything and got it for him, and then it was refused.

What was the point of all this?”...

Warsaw - Polish Muslims want to change a 1936 law that requires them to pray for Poland and the country's president, Polish Radio reported Wednesday. The Muslim community also want days off for Islamic religious holidays, in the predominantly Catholic country, and to recognise weddings in mosques.

The current law requires all Polish Muslims to mention the Republic of Poland and the president during Friday prayers, and regulates relations between the state and the Muslim Religious Association.

"A Muslim religious wedding still doesn't have civil effects," said Pawel Borecki, of the Religious Law faculty at the University of Warsaw. "Followers of Islam also still do not have a guaranteed right to celebrate their holidays."

Poland's Foreign Ministry is currently working with Polish Muslims on a draft bill that will abolish the required prayer for Poland and change the legal status of the country's Muslims.

The new law would allow Muslims to take days off for religious holidays and would make a marriage in a mosque equal to a civil marriage, reported the broadcaster TVP Info.

Settlements of Poland's first Muslims date back to the 14th century, when Tatars made their home in the Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth and practiced Islam freely in exchange for military service.

Today most estimate there are some 30,000 Muslims in Poland including some 2,000 Tatars. Muslims make up less than 0.1 per cent of the overwhelmingly Roman Catholic population.

Undercliffe, Bradford, grandparents attacked

Police are hunting four men who violently attacked a defenceless elderly couple in a “vicious and disgusting” road rage attack.

Grandparents Christopher and Beryl Bell, of Undercliffe, Bradford, had been out shopping and were driving home when their car clipped the wing mirror of a black Audi A3 car.

Fearing the reaction of the driver and his three passengers, 65-year-old Mr Bell carried on but was tailgated by the Audi until he stopped in Pollard Lane, Undercliffe.

Mr Bell, who takes 12 tablets a day for a heart condition, got out to speak to the driver but the four occupants became verbally abusive and started punching him on the head.

Mrs Bell, aged 66, then got out of the vehicle and tried to persuade the young men to stop hitting her husband, but she too was punched in the face and ended up lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Both were taken to hospital and Mrs Bell was unable to open her eyes for some time due to the pain in her face.

Mr Bell said: “I got out of the car and the driver got out of his car and we were set together. The other three got out of the car and punched me on my head a couple of times, one in the back. I turned round and I saw my wife on the floor – blood was gushing out of a cut in her nose and a big bump on her head and someone shouted ‘get the police’ and all of a sudden they have jumped in their car and off they went.”

Mr Bell said the men were “shouting like hell” but added that he could not make out what they were saying.

Mrs Bell said: “I was scared but I just saw them all hitting him so I got out and tried to stop it and got punched in the face, then I was on the floor in a load of blood.

“I wasn’t unconscious but my head was going round like I was in a daze.”

Detective Inspector Sean Duggan, of Bradford South Police, who yesterday revealed the details of the attack, said: “This is a particularly violent attack on two vulnerable old people going about their daily business. Four people who are much younger than them and bigger in stature have got out of the vehicle and attacked them quite violently.

“I accept that the offenders in this case are described as Asian, the victims are white British.

However, nothing has been said by the offenders that would suggest it’s a racially motivated incident. It’s just a violent unprovoked disgusting attack.”

The Audi driver is described as Asian, stocky, about 5ft 9ins tall and aged 25 with short, black hair, while the front seat passenger was Asian, aged about 20, slim with medium length, jet black hair. The other two passengers were Asian males in their 20s.

ACLU outraged over crackdown on Muslim charities

The federal government's crackdown on suspected terrorism financing since the Sept. 11 attacks has violated the rights of American Muslim charities and deterred Muslims from charitable giving, the American Civil Liberties Union said in a report Tuesday.

An expansion of laws and policies since 2001 has given the U.S. Treasury Department in particular virtually unchecked authority to designate charities as terrorist organizations and freeze assets without adequate safeguards to protect against mistakes or abuse, the study concluded.

It said that such sweeping powers, combined with the FBI interviewing Muslim donors and putting mosques under surveillance, has created a climate of fear among Muslims. Donors have been reluctant to fulfill their religious obligation to give zakat, or charity, one of the "five pillars" of Islam, for fear of being arrested, deported, denied citizenship or prosecuted retroactively for donations made in good faith.

"Giving charity is a central part of being Muslim, so it weighs heavily on them that they cannot practice a key tenet of their faith," said ACLU researcher Jennifer Turner, who based her findings on interviews with 120 Muslim community leaders, donors and former government officials....

NEW HAVEN — A man who allegedly confessed to a downtown carjacking, a Yale University fire bombing, two New York City robberies and other crimes that police can’t yet confirm he committed, was placed on a mental health watch by a Superior Court judge Monday.

When detectives picked up Robert Thompson, 30, of West Haven, and told him he was wanted on a West Haven warrant, he allegedly told detectives, “Good, because I want to tell you about all the crimes I’ve been doing.”

Thompson was charged over the weekend with the June 6 carjacking at Church and Chapel streets and is under investigation for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail over the fence at the Yale power plant at 18 Tower Parkway June 7. He told Detective Wayne Bullock that Allah instructed him how to “melt down” the plant, according to documents filed in court Monday. It didn’t cause any damage.

The investigation involved both Yale and New Haven police, as well as NYPD and a federal joint terrorism task force.

Assistant Chief Peter Reichard said detective were still trying to verify Thompson’s claims that he started robbing banks and stores in 2004. He told detectives he did it to show “the system” that he wasn’t insane....

Raed Abduhl-Rahman Alsaif was arrested June 4 as he tried to board US Airways flight 1077 to Phoenix and Portland, Ore., according to a criminal complaint.

During the screening process, an officer spotted a large chef's knife in one of Alsaif's bags, the complaint states. The knife was concealed between the outside fabric and the expandable pull handles of the bag.

Alsaif told officers a friend had given him the bag, and he was unaware of the contents. But authorities interviewed the friend, who denied owning the bag or giving it to Alsaif....

Two people, Abdul Rasheed Junejo and his 3-year-old son Rashid, were killed by a group of armed men led by Imam Bux Brohi.

According to the police report, the accused also shot and killed Junejo’s wife.

Police have arrested the accused, Imam Bux Brohi, and Abdullah Brohi for their involvement in the murders....

'Hamas thwarts Carter assassination'

Hamas reportedly foiled an attempt by Palestinian terrorists to kill former US president Jimmy Carter during his visit to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Israeli security sources said they had learned of plans to target Carter and had passed on the information to his security detail in "real time."

According to Palestinian sources, terrorists linked to al-Qaida hid a number of bombs along a road Carter's convoy was scheduled to travel on while in the Strip.

Following Carter's entry to Gaza, five men, some wearing Hamas police uniforms, removed three large black disks and some wire from a sand dune next to a road Carter had used. They then reportedly destroyed the improvised bombs.

A uniformed officer at the scene told The Associated Press the items were explosives.

Security officials said soldiers in a lookout post spotted Hamas forces dismantling explosives. They said they passed on a warning to Carter's security detail.

June 16 (Bloomberg) -- Former President Jimmy Carter urged the Gaza Strip’s Hamas leadership to join Middle East peace efforts and condemned Israel’s blockade of the territory, saying Palestinians are being treated like animals.

Carter toured sites around the territory today that were bombed during Israel’s military offensive that ended in January. He later met with Ismail Haniya, who heads the government in Gaza two years after Hamas seized control of the coastal enclave from the Palestinian Authority’s Fatah movement.

“Tragically, the international community too often ignores the cries for help and the citizens of Palestine are treated more like animals than like human beings,” Carter, 84, said in a speech to graduates of a United Nations school in Gaza.

The former president, who brokered an Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty in 1979, is traveling in the Middle East on his own initiative as head of the Atlanta-based Carter Center, which promotes human rights, mediates international conflicts and fights disease in poor countries. He visited a West Bank Jewish settlement earlier in the week.

Anwar Sadat was killed because of the treaty by the same people that are running Egypt now.

Israel has sealed off crossing points into Gaza and limited the entry of international food donations and construction materials, citing security concerns.

Carter said he urged Hamas to support efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, adding, “they have made statements and taken actions that suggest they are ready to join the peace process.

Haniya told Carter he would support establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip if all the territory captured by Israel in 1967 is returned.

Independent State

“We are pushing towards the dream of having our independent state with Jerusalem as its capital,” Haniya said, standing beside Carter at a press conference.

Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel and no arab muslim should be allowed in. Just like Mecca allows no non-muslims.

Carter’s visit came a day after former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair toured Gaza in his role as international peace envoy. Blair refrained from meeting any leaders of Hamas, which is classified as a terrorist organization by Israel, the U.S. and the European Union.

Carter said earlier in the day that he almost cried when he saw the wreckage of the American School in the Gaza Strip and felt guilty because Israel used U.S.-made war planes to bomb the campus.

The arabs were firing mortars from the school. They are the ones that created this issue.

“I have to hold back tears when I see the deliberate destruction that has been wracked against your people,” he told Palestinians today as he visited the school’s ruins in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lehiya.

American School

The American school, a private institution that is not affiliated with the U.S. government, was destroyed in a Jan. 3 air strike that killed a guard. The Israeli army said it targeted the campus because Palestinians were using the site to fire rockets at Israel’s southern towns and cities.

“I feel partially responsible for this, as must all Americans and Israelis,” Carter said, noting that the school was “deliberately destroyed by bombs from F-16s made in my country.”

Carter told reporters he would also seek the release of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit and said he handed a letter from Shalit’s parents to Haniya asking that it be given to the captive.

Carter criticized Israel’s blockade of Gaza in an interview published June 14 in the Haaretz newspaper, saying the Palestinians there were “being treated like savages.” Carter’s 2006 book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” irked Israeli politicians who objected to their leadership being compared to the racist policies of South Africa’s former government.

There is no such place as palestine. There are no palestinians. They have a country, Jordan. The Jews need to take Gaza and the West Bank and throw out all arabs.

WASHINGTON, June 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- International Christian Concern (www.persecution.org) has learned that radical Muslims running a tea stall beat a Christian man to death for using a cup designated for Muslims on May 9. The young man, Ishtiaq Masih, had ordered tea at a roadside stall in Machharkay village, Punjab, Pakistan, after his bus made a rest stop.

When Ishtiaq went to pay for his tea, the owner noticed that he was wearing a necklace with a cross and grabbed him, calling for his employees to bring anything available to beat him for violating a sign posted on the stall warning non-Muslims to declare their religion before being served. Ishtiaq had not noticed the warning sign before ordering his tea.

The owner and 14 of his employees beat Ishtiaq with stones, iron rods and clubs, and stabbed him multiple times with kitchen knives as Ishtiaq pleaded for mercy.

The other bus passengers and other passers-by finally intervened and took Ishtiaq to the Rural Health Center in the village. The doctor who took Ishtiaq's case told ICC that Ishtiaq had died due to excessive internal and external bleeding, a fractured skull, and brain injuries.

Makah Tea Stall is located on the Sukheki-Lahore highway and is owned by Mubarak Ali, a 42-year-old radical Muslim. ICC's correspondent visited the tea stall and observed that a large red warning sign with a death's head symbol was posted which read, "All non-Muslims should introduce their faith prior to ordering tea. This tea stall serves Muslims only." The warning also threatened anyone who violated the rule with "dire consequences."

A neighboring shopkeeper told ICC on condition of anonymity that all Ali's employees are former students of radical Muslim madrassas (seminaries).

Ishtiaq's family said that they immediately reported the incident to the police and filed a case against Ali. However, the murderers are still freely operating the tea stall.

When ICC asked the Pindi Bhatian Saddar police station about the murder, the police chief said that investigations were underway and they are treating it as a faith-based murder by biased Muslims. When asked about Ali's warning sign, police chief Muhammad Iftikhar Bajwa claimed that he could not take it down. However, the constitution of Pakistan explicitly prohibits such discrimination.

Tory MP Patrick Mercer, a former infantry commander, said the presence of a tattoo of an English football club suggests the insurgent had at one point been a well-integrated member of UK society who identified with his home culture, but was radicalised nevertheless.

Allied spy planes have previously picked up Birmingham and Manchester accents among Taliban radio chatter, while in April it emerged that a Briton had been identified as a Taliban bombmaker after his fingerprints were found on an unexploded roadside device in Helmand.

In a macabre new tactic, Taliban militants have begun paying children to plant lethal bombs in Pakistani cities.[...]

The Kohat bombing was one of a succession of deadly attacks since the Pakistan military launched an offensive against the Taliban in the Swat Valley region. The Taliban has vowed to carry out bombings in Pakistani cities in retaliation. There have been at least 16 attacks since the operation started in late April and more than 100 people have been killed.

Most of the attacks have been in Lahore and Peshawar. The latter city’s only big hotel, the Pearl Continental, was blown up on Tuesday. Militants fired on the hotel guards, drove a lorry laden with half a ton of explosives up to the buildings and detonated it, killing 18 people, including two United Nations officials.

They can use women and children as human shields, and now as bomb planters, but when one of them is killed by the US or Israel, we are the bad guys. These people have no values at all.

Fata Lemes, 33, was handed the payout even though a tribunal rejected her claim that the dress was 'sexually revealing and indecent'.

It concluded the Bosnian Muslim 'holds views about modesty and decency which some might think unusual in Britain in the 21st century'.

But it accepted that Miss Lemes genuinely believed that the short, low-cut dress was 'disgusting' and made her look 'like a prostitute'.

Bosses at the Rocket bar in London's Mayfair should have made allowance for her feelings and their insistence that she wear the dress amounted to sexual harassment, the tribunal ruled.

The panel at Central London Employment Tribunal found that Miss Lemes overstated her trauma at being asked to wear the sleeveless dress that was open at the back.

It also rejected Miss Lemes' claim that she was left with no choice but to walk out of her job after just eight days.

It branded her compensation claim of £20,000 including £17,500 for hurt feelings as 'manifestly absurd'.

But it awarded her £2,919.95 for hurt feelings and loss of earnings.

Miss Lemes told the tribunal that she 'might as well be naked' in the dress, adding: 'I was brought up a Muslim and am not used to wearing sexually attractive clothes.'

Muslim World: An Arrogant World within the World

In 2008, “change” was the buzz word. The U.S. media was hypnotized by the magic word, and people shivered with anticipation. In 2009, another exciting term– “Muslim world”–is sweeping through the media.
The people of the free world are not only acknowledging the presence of the so-called Muslim world, they are ready to build a bridge between the two worlds. Engineers have drawn the sketches and truckloads of concrete have been delivered by the bank of the river without realizing how deep and ugly the river is!
The very first question that would bother any rational mind is: Why should there be another world for the Muslims? Secondly, what makes Muslims different from the rest of the humans that requires them to have their own world? Third, why don’t we hear about the Christian world, the Buddhist world or the Hindu world for that matter?
The answer to the first question lies in the teachings of Islam. It is widely believed by most Islamic scholars that the world is divided in two parts - dar ul-islam (’abode of Islam’) and dar ul-harb (’abode of war’). A place where Islam is dominant, or where Muslims live under a Muslim ruler or Islamic laws is considered dar ul-Islam; the lack of Islamic rules or the ruler is considered a dar ul-harb. Some scholars further add another area of division known as dar ul-kufr (’abode of infidelity’), which, in fact, is an extension of dar ul-harb.
Typically, disagreement is the number one criteria to become a scholar, and, as such, there are some modern Islamic scholars who disagree in the concept of dar-ul-harb and dar-ul-Islam. This is because Islam is not powerful these days, and they are afraid of infidel power. They argue that the terms dar ul-harb or dar ul-Islam are not mentioned in the Quran or in the ahadith. They do, however, proudly acknowledge the existence of Umma or so-called Muslim World.
Although those terminologies were not specifically cited in Islamic scriptures, after Mohammed and his pirates died, the Muslim scholars of Abbasid Caliphate coined the terms based on their understanding of the scriptures. Since then, those terms have become the integral parts of Islam.
They surely had reason for such justification. There are over 500 verses in the Quran that demean, curse and guarantee hell fire for the unbelievers of Islam. It is obvious that Allah used to work in an iron factory where melting iron was his primary job or he might have worked as a cowboy in Texas, branding the cows on their butt. In Q 9:35, Allah says of priests and rabbis who hinder the course of Islam, “On the day when it shall be heated in the fire of hell, then their foreheads and their sides and their backs shall be branded with it; this is what you hoarded up for yourselves, therefore taste what you hoarded.”
Obviously, the believers of Islam live in a world far from the rest of the humanity. Their supposedly supreme world can not mingle with the others.
An essence of supremacy answers the second question: What makes Muslims different from the rest of the humans that requires them to have their own world?
Muslims are indeed better people than the non-Muslims - so they claim.
Mohammed, the founder of Islam, taught Muslims that they are the best people in the world and the Quran explicitly commands (Q 3:110), “You (true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Mohammed and his sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind…”
Such arrogant understanding not only makes Muslims red-necks, it further forces Muslims to distant themselves from non-Muslims.
For the third question regarding why we don’t hear about the Christian world, the Hindu world or the Buddhist world, there is one simple explanation - spirituality dominates the believers of the other religions, whereas Islam likes to dominate the rest of the world.
It is true that in the past, the followers of some religions fought many wars because of religion, and used religion to rule the people. In the medieval age of Europe, for example, kings and priests committed many crimes in the name of religion.
However, many philosophers and academians stood up against the atrocity and harshly criticized the authorities at that time. Denis Diderot, a French philosophe of the 18th century, rightly claimed, “Men will not be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.”
Unfortunately, Muslim scholars have not stood up against the Islamic aggression; instead, they are continually defending Islam. They don’t have much choice, either. The rigidity of Quran, the holy book of Islam, left no room for reformation. Muslim intellectuals, in fact, are not different from the fundamentalists. The only difference between the two is that the Jihadists like to subjugate the rest of the world under Islam through violence; the other exploits democracy and human rights to impose Islam.
Now, in a civilized world, religion is merely a personal issue rather than a state matter. People may find solace in their own perceived gods but they would not allow religion to dictate the government. On the other hand, although an element of spirituality is present in Islam, the fundamentals of Islam teach Muslims to conquer the world. Most decent Muslims would pray to god, fast and pilgrim to Mecca. However, those usual rituals are not enough to secure a place in the heaven. In order to become a perfect Muslim, the guidelines of the Quran must be followed, and they happen step by step.
Step 1 - Muslims must have their own banking system, must eat halal food and their religion must not be criticized. When living in a non-Muslim country, these are only a few of many demands that they try to achieve. This is what is happening currently in most of the secular societies.
Step 2 - When Muslims create their own world within a secular society, they will go for the next step. They will isolate themselves from the non-Muslims as the Quran dictates (Q 4:144), “O you believe! Take not for Auliya’ (protectors, or helpers or friends) disbeliveers instead of believers…”
Step 3 - At the final stage, Muslims will force the non-Muslims to become Muslims, as the Quran demands (Q 2:193), “And fight until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah) and (all and every kind of worship is for Allah alone).”
Obviously, Islam is not confined in religious rituals or spirituality; it has its own agenda to conquer the world.
Muslims have created their own world and proudly belong to so-called Umma or the Muslim world, which means community or nation only for Muslims. A Muslim may live in any country of the world, but he must be loyal to the Ummah. When a conflict arises between nationalism and Ummah, it is Ummah that takes precedence over patriotism. Ironically, from Jihadi Muslims to moderate Muslims, they all belong to the same Ummah. The violence and terrorism committed by the extremists are the final stage of Islam and mirror the life story of the prophet of Islam. No matter how the moderate Muslims protest the extremism, at the end of the day, they, too, must follow the footsteps of the prophet and embrace the fundamentals of Islam, which is no different than the fundamentalists.
The concept of the Muslim world is arrogant and unacceptable because it divides humanity and it gives a group of people a sense of false supremacy that they don’t deserve.

'Stop treating us like savages'

Jerusalem - Former US president Jimmy Carter urged Israel to lift a crippling blockade of Hamas-run Gaza Strip in an interview on Sunday, saying the territory's residents were being treated like savages.

"To me, the most grievous circumstance is the maltreatment of the people in Gaza, who are literally starving and have no hope at this time," Carter told the liberal Haaretz newspaper.

"They're being treated like savages. The alleviation of their plight to some means I think would be the most important (thing) the Israeli PM could do.

"The interview was published on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was to lay out his cabinet's Middle East peace policy.

Carter is due to visit the Gaza Strip on Tuesday as part of a regional tour.

Israel slapped a punishing blockade on Gaza after Islamist Hamas, pledged to the destruction of the Jewish state, violently seized power there in June 2007.

Since then Israel and Egypt, which controls Gaza's only border crossing that bypasses the Jewish state, have kept the impoverished territory of 1,5 million aid-dependent people sealed to all but essential humanitarian supplies.

Palestinian unemployment blamed on Israel

GENEVA, Switzerland, June 12 (UPI) -- The Arab League's representative to the United Nations blamed the rising Palestinian unemployment rate
on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Ambassador Saad al-Fararji said at a forum on the sidelines of the annual conference of the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, the jobless rate in the Palestinian territories has risen as high as 86 percent, KUNA, the Kuwait News Agency, reported Friday.

is the result of dangerous and unhealthy conditions created by the occupying Israeli forces. He said the conditions worsen sentiments of frustration and disappointment among Palestinians and undermine attempts at peace.

It does not matter that Hamas is running the place and is willing to starve their own people just to make sure that they have the weapons to kill the Jews. The Gates Foundation paid millions of dollars to the Israelis to leave the hot houses intact. They destroyed them. The Obama administration may be celebrating the agreement with Palau that gets 13 of the al-Qaeda-trained Uighurs out of Gitmo, but the Palauans have a much different reaction to the news. Jake Tapper reports that the editor of Palau’s main newspaper gets accosted on the street by angry citizens demanding to know what idiot thought bringing violent Muslim separatists into their tourist haven was a good idea:

The decision by Johnson Toribiong, president of the obscure Pacific nation of Palau, to take in up to 13 Uighurs — Muslim Chinese — currently being held at Guantanamo is meeting some resistance from the general population.

As ABC News’ polling director Gary Langer points out, proportional to population, sending 13 Uighurs to Palau is like sending 188,993 Uighurs to the United States.

The Associated Press reports that Fermin Nariang, editor of the Palau newspaper Island Times, has “been stopped in the streets of the capital Koror by locals venting their anger. ‘This is a very small country … and some are saying if the whole world doesn’t want these folks, why are we taking them?’ Nariang said. The government has ‘fumbled the ball on this one.’”

Palau President Johnson Toribiong explained his decision to grant the Uighurs entry as traditional hospitality, but public opinion has appeared overwhelmingly negative. Some complained Friday that the government failed to consult the people.

“I totally disagree” with allowing the Uighurs onto Palau, Natalia Baulis, a 30-year-old mother of two, told The Associated Press by telephone.

“It’s good to be humanitarian and all, but still these people … to me are scary,” she said. …

The newspaper quoted islander Debedebk Mongami as saying, “I’m also afraid this news is going to scare the tourists who plan to come to Palau.”

Lawyers: Israel uses uranium in Gaza offensive

Lawyers investigating possible war crimes by Israel in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip Thursday said the Jewish state used uranium in recent offensive on the blockaded territory.

Findings indicated that Israel heavily used uranium materials in its war in Gaza, Haitham Manna of the International Coalition for Trying Israeli War Criminals told a news conference in Gaza city.

At first, a French lab "asked us to obtain license from Ukraine because they believed the samples were obtained from a place hit by Chernobyl accident due to the high amount of Uranium that were found," Manna told Xinhua.

"We provided the labs with GPS (Global Positioning System) coordinates for the cites and images from the scenes where we collected the samples," he added.

The samples were collected from the Gaza Strip after Israel ended a three-week offensive on Jan. 18 to check if they contained prohibited weapons.

Some of the results that French, Italian and British labs released showed that "the amount of depleted uranium in the areas of the samples were more than 75 tons and this is a very dangerous percentage for the overcrowded places in Gaza," Manna said.

About 25 samples were handed to the labs, including air filters of Palestinian ambulances and fragments of weapons collected from Gaza-Egypt border area and northeast Gaza city.

In a addition to the uranium, carcinogen materials and asbestos dust were found in the air in the Gaza Strip.

Manna and Norwegian lawyers have been working to sue Israel for war crimes they say the Jewish state committed during Operation Cast Lead between Dec. 27, 2008 and Jan. 18, 2009.

More than 1,400 Palestinians, most of them civilians, were killed during the Israeli offensive and thousands of houses, infrastructure and governmental buildings were destroyed by Israeli raids.

He said his group "has been acting as a party, gathering evidences and submitting them to investigation panels."

A copy of the results were given to the South African persecutor Richard Goldstone who leads a UN mission to investigate possible war crimes in Gaza.

Gaza would never have been attacked if the muslims would stop trying to kill the Jews. The UN is nothing but an anti-semitic organization.

New fuel pipeline built between Israel, Gaza

An Israeli construction team Thursday finished its work on a new pipeline for the transfer of fuel and natural gas from Israel to the Gaza Strip, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement sent to Xinhua.

The decision to build the pipeline was made in accordance with decisions made by the Israeli government, following security assessments and as a result of the coordination between Israel's Civil Administration and the Palestinian side, said the statement.

The IDF will continue to work in order to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, it added. Israel imposed a tight blockade on Gaza after Hamas, a Palestinian militant group pledges to the Jewish state's destruction, seized control of the coastal territory in June 2007.

Calls for Red Cross symbol to be axed over links to the Crusades

A Labour minister has sparked controversy by claiming that an alternative symbol is needed for the Red Cross because of the logo's supposed links to the Crusades.

Foreign Office minister Chris Bryant said that the historic emblem risked undermining the work of the humanitarian organisation.

His intervention came as MPs debated the adoption of the 'red crystal' - a diamond-shaped badge - to avoid the religious connotations of the cross and crescent symbols currently used by the international body.

But critics said the new insignia was a sop to political correctness and warned that it may be the first step towards it replacing cross and crescent. Others fear that it may not be as widely recognised on the battlefield.

'It is, in an effort not to be contentious, possibly too anodyne to serve its purpose,' Tory MP John Hayes said.

Philip Davies, a Tory backbencher, said: 'At face value to the layman it seems at best a solution looking for a problem and at worst another example of extreme political correctness.

'No one has ever suggested to me that the Red Cross refers to the Crusades.'

Shadow Foreign Office minister David Lidington said that use of the crystal over the cross by the British military should 'be the exception rather than be allowed to become the norm'.

Tory Oliver Heald said the Red Cross symbol was widely recognised and counselled caution that 'we are careful not to undermine that'.

'There is also a risk of confusion with many different symbols, and that terrorists may exploit that to mask themselves when carrying out attacks,' he added.

The founding Conference of the Red Cross Movement in 1863 adopted a red cross on a white background – the reverse of the Swiss flag – as the emblem of the voluntary medical personnel who assisted the wounded on the battlefield.

It was never intended to have any religious meaning and is thought to have been intended as a tribute to traditionally neutral Switzerland, which hosted the conference.

However, the symbol unintentionally raised suggestions that it was somehow linked to the Hospitallers, a military order which took part in the Crusades, the centuries long series of military campaigns waged by Christians from Europe.

Subsequently, a red crescent emblem was adopted in tandem.

Mr Bryant told the Commons: 'The reference to the Crusades is... not lost to some people which, of course, anybody involved in the Red Cross would wholly deprecate.

'The truth of the matter is that it has been difficult in some places for us to ensure that these connotations of a religious war or a religious crusade don't undermine the work that the Red Cross or Red Crescent is able to do.'
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement hope that the neutrality of the red crystal will help improve protection for casualties, military medical services and humanitarian workers.

It was chosen because it is devoid of religious and other partisan connotations.
A treaty which established the red crystal as an additional protective symbol became part of international law in 2006.

It will now receive the same status in UK law as the red cross and red crescent under the Geneva Conventions and United Nations Personnel (Protocols) Bill passed today.

The impartial movement is the world's largest humanitarian network made up of almost 97million volunteers, supporters, and staff in 186 countries.

Leigh Daynes, spokesman for the British Red Cross, said: 'The British Red Cross strongly supports acceptance of the Red Crystal emblem.

It would give another option for the protection of humanitarian workers, as well as for the medical services of the armed forces, in situations where use of the Red Cross or Red Crescent emblems might be misunderstood.

'In these circumstances, the Red Crystal would make our workers and the medical services of the armed forces safer. The British Red Cross will continue to use the Red Cross emblem, which, after more than a century, has served us well.'

Well it seems that it DOES offend some UNNAMED MET officials who have now banned armed cops at Heathrow Airport from wearing the tiny Union Jack flag badge on their clothing. These Union flag badges have been worn to show support for British military troops. Approximately 70% of these armed cops have served in the Forces and/or have children or other family members currently serving in Afghanistan.

Now who might you imagine would find the British flag as "offensive"? Who might be whining and complaining about it ?? -- Should we suspect muslims and their muslim wannabee sympathizers?

Clearly muslims have made an issue - worldwide - of crosses - or any object bearing any form of a cross (including National flags) as being offensive to them and clearly many dhimmis are tripping over each other to pander to these muslims -- here are just a few instances:

These are just a few of the assaults made by muslims against the any representation of the Christian cross and/or National flags with cross symbols. A brief search of the web will find MANY more as well as affirm that no other ethnic, religious or otherwise groups voice any objection to or appear offended by the cross symbol.

Clearly muslims are methodically working towards incremental eradication of any form of the Christian cross from public view on their way to the Islamisation of Europe. With the help of pandering, multicultural worshipping, politically correct dhimmis - including these Heathrow (and other) officials - British police and politicians -one can predict - in Great Britain - muslims could very well succeed.

ARMED cops patrolling Heathrow Airport have been banned from wearing tiny Union Jack badges in support of British troops.

A recent story in the Reading Evening Mail describes a 71-year-old blind Englishman and cancer sufferer who was asked to get off a bus because of the hysterical reaction to his seeing-eye dog by some Muslims on the bus:

A driver told a blind cancer sufferer to get off his bus when a woman and her children became hysterical at the sight of his guide dog. George Herridge, 71, told how the mum flew into a rage and shouted at him in a foreign language. A passenger explained she wanted him to get off the bus during the incident on May 20.

Mr Herridge, from Tern Close, Tilehurst, said: “Her child was kicking and screaming and someone off the bus told me her child was frightened of my dog. The driver said, ‘Look mate, can’t you get off? I stood my ground. I had not done anything, my dog had not done anything and I was getting off the bus for no one.”

And a day after the latest bus incident a lady began screaming “I don’t like dirty dogs” at Mr Herridge at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

A week earlier he faced further animosity from a couple at Asda in The Meadway, he said.
He is unsure what has provoked outbursts but said he thinks some have come from Asian people and that it may be due to religious or cultural differences.

Drivers have been re-instructed to convey the blind and the bus company has sought advice from the Royal National Institute for the Blind and hopes to speak with Muslim leaders. As part of a Muslim Council of Britain project, Mufti Zubair Butt, Shar’ia advisor to Muslim Spiritual Care Provision in the NHS, admitted Muslims “require some education” on guide dogs.”

The British shoe bomber convicted of trying to blow up a transatlantic flight is being force-fed in America’s toughest jail after going on hunger strike, court papers disclose.

Richard Reid has been refusing food for several weeks in an apparent protest against prison restrictions that he says prevent him from following his Sunni Muslim faith.

The Muslim convert from South London is being held at the Administrative Maximum prison in Florence, Colorado, the only “supermax” jail in America.

The 490-capacity fortress, known as the Alcatraz of the Rockies, also houses Zacarias Moussaoui, a conspirator in the September 11, 2001 attacks, and Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing. Two domestic terrorists, Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, and Terry Nichols, the Oklahoma City bombing conspirator, are also being held there.

Reid, 35, is serving 110 years for attempting to bring down a ParisMiami American Airlines flight carrying 197 passengers in December 2001 with explosives hidden in his shoe.

He filed a lawsuit two years ago claiming that he was being held subject to strict “special administrative measures” that prevented him from attending group prayers as required by his religion, pursuing a correspondence course in his religion or subscribing to religious magazines.
He also complained that he was barred from reading newspapers or watching TV news, and denied phone contact with anyone except his lawyer, the British Consulate and his immediate family.

The US Government revealed on Tuesday in a previously undisclosed court filing dated April 14 that Reid had been refusing food since March.

The filing said that Reid had refused 58 meals by April 9. A government lawyer said that he was still on hunger strike. Prison officials decided on April 7 that “medical intervention was necessary” after Reid went on hunger strike.

What is the problem? Let him starve to death. I would cut off his water too. That will speed up the process.

Palestinian family tortures, murders 15-year-old son for "collaboration" with Israel

In the first incident of its kind, a Palestinian family has killed its 15-year-old son in the West Bank after accusing him of "collaboration" with Israel.

The boy's body was discovered near Kalkilya on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Authority security forces announced that they have arrested a number of the boy's family members in connection with the killing.

The victim was identified as Raed Wael Sawalha.

PA security sources said the suspects confessed to the killing, claiming that they decided to kill Masalha because of his alleged connections with the Israeli authorities....

A preliminary investigation launched by PA security forces revealed that Sawalha had been brutally tortured before he was hanged to death....

Gen. Adnan Damiri, spokesman for the PA security forces in the West Bank, said the perpetrators were all members of the boy's family, including the father, uncle and cousin....

This sounds like an honor killing to me.

Obama aligns with the policies of Shariah-adherents" in the Washington Times, June 9, Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy echoes a point I made in March 2007: that Barack Obama, whether or not he is actually a Muslim himself, can be America's first Muslim President the way Bill Clinton was our first black President: it's all about empathy, doncha know. Egypt: Muslims angered, take revenge over recovery of abducted Coptic teenage girl following forced "conversion"

Cairo (AINA) -- In another incident of abduction and forced Islamization of Coptic minor girls, 16-year old Nermeen Mitry was abducted by a Muslim man to coerce her into converting to Islam. She was successfully recovered on the same day by her family, who did their own investigation and search to locate her.

Nermeen was abducted from El-Mahalla by Muslim Hossam Hamouda in conspiracy with his aunt Leila Attia; she was hidden away by a third person called Nasser Abu Deif from Assuit in Upper Egypt, at the home of one of his female relatives called Rasha Soliman in Zagazig.

The success of recovering the Coptic girl led to anger, revenge and assaults from the disappointed village Muslims against her family. Nearly 150 Muslims, armed with swords and clubs, physically assaulted five family members of the abducted Coptic teenager, as they drove back to their village after being forced into reconciliation with the abductor's family by State Security, compromising their right to pursue the case any further. "With every blow on us, they chanted 'There is only one Allah' while the Police stood there watching the assault, until we could take no more and three of us were hospitalized," said Nermeen's uncle Sameh Mitry in an aired interview with Coptic News on 6/7/2009. "They dragged us out of the car saying "Get out you followers of the Dog's religion!' They were consumed with anger ever since we got our girl back."

The police rounded up 11 Copts including the assaulted family and 14 Muslims. "The police let the real attackers go free and were just arresting people randomly," said Sameh. "We were released after 3 days except for two Copts whom the State Security held as pawns -- just in case we made any trouble they would be detained for a long time," said Sameh.

Nermeen Mitry, 16, from Toma village near El-Mahalla town, was on her way to sit for an exam on May 21, 2009, when she was lured by a Muslim female friend to go home with her where she offered her spiked tea. She regained conscious hours later to find herself facing a bearded Muslim man trying to convert her to Islam, in a far away town and another governorate in Egypt, which she later knew to be Zagazig. The traumatized girl recounted the events to Osama Eid, correspondent of the Free-Copts Organization.

"The man was very confident and told me that I would be the fourth Coptic girl to 'know the true Allah' and convert to Islam through him. He also said that a member of my family was converted 15 years ago by him. I told him I am engaged to be married when I come of age, and would never convert to Islam as this would be a catastrophe for me. He did his best to make me change my mind, and then left me alone for a while."

When Nermeen did not return home, the Mitry family went to the police. Unable to get the police to register the case as an abduction, the family subsequently went to State Security and reported the incident, but were delayed there for hours with no progress.

"Meanwhile, one of the abductor's family members contacted Nermeen's cousin Romany and told him he knew her whereabouts, and offered to accompany him to bring her back," Sameh told Coptic News. "I am sure the abductor's family knew that we would have implicated them and they were afraid. We freed the girl ourselves; State Security did nothing to help."

On their way back with Nermeen, they were contacted by the police and were told to bring the girl to State Security Directorate. Reflecting the diminished Coptic trust in all government institutions especially State Security, "we never went there, instead we took the girl straight to a Monastery to be safe there," Sameh told Coptic News. "We know quite well what Security would have done as has happened in many cases before. If she went there, they would have changed everything, closed the case and she would have gone to the other side."

"Ever since Nermeen returned the village Muslims joining the abductor's family started a terror campaign against us and all Copts in the village in general. They harassed and taunted us by saying 'we will get your girls one by one'" said Sameh. "They burnt down Nermeen's father recycled cartons warehouse. They set it on fire at dawn and went to the mosque to pray after locking its door. We contacted the Police and implicated a few people. They were released by State Security within 4 days."...

The systematic Islamization of Coptic girls has been going on for more than 30 years, Coptic Pope Shenouda protested during a conference held in Alexandria on December 17th, 1976 that "there is pressure being practiced to convert Coptic girls to embrace Islam and marry them under terror to Muslim husbands" and demanded that the abducted girls be brought back to their families.

Isn't islam a wonderful thing? I just love how muslims cannot just fuck their own women, they now have to take any woman that they want and just convert them and marry them. How is it that they are able to convert these girls. What do they consider a conversion? A good fucking by a muslim animal?

Passengers on Air France jet crash killing 228 had jihadi-terror links

Two passengers with names linked to Islamic terrorism were on board the Air France flight that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean, killing all 228 on board, it has emerged.

French secret servicemen established the connection while working through the list of those who boarded the doomed Airbus in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 31.

Agents are now trying to establish dates of birth for the two dead passengers, and family connections.

There is a possibility that the name similarities are simply a "macabre coincidence," the source added, but the revelation is still being "taken very seriously."

Flight AF447 crashed in mid-Atlantic en route to Paris during a violent storm.

While it is certain that there were computer malfunctions, terrorism has not been ruled out.

Soon after news of the fatal crash broke, agents working for the DGSE (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure), were dispatched to Brazil.

It was there that they established that two names on the passenger list are also on highly classified documents listing the names of radical Muslims considered a threat to the French Republic.
