For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

Good luck with that. Will he find that mutual respect reciprocated? Do the Saudis treat us with respect when they fill Islamic schools and mosques in America with material teaching hatred of Jews and Christians and the necessity to subjugate unbelievers under the rule of Islamic law? Do the Pakistanis respect us when they take our money to fight jihad terrorism and use it instead to aid jihad terrorism? Will Obama examine the reasons why that respect may not be forthcoming, and adjust policies accordingly?

Obama is going to try to make nice with people that want us to submit to allah, pay the jizya or die for not joining in the submission to allah. Great!! Hey Obama, got news for you, they don't like you anymore than Bush.

Al-Qaeda accursed: Not by the plague, but by its own incompetence

This is even better than the Black Death. It looks like those crazy muslims were working with some kind of chemical or biological weapon and oops, "allah we have a problem." Warm up the virgins.

The "Al Qaeda gets the bubonic plague" story was actually a story about a biological or chemical weapons experiment that went wrong.

An al Qaeda affiliate in Algeria closed a base earlier this month after an experiment with unconventional weapons went awry, a senior U.S. intelligence official said Monday.

The official, who spoke on the condition he not be named because of the sensitive nature of the issue, said he could not confirm press reports that the accident killed at least 40 al Qaeda operatives, but he said the mishap led the militant group to shut down a base in the mountains of Tizi Ouzou province in eastern Algeria.

He said authorities in the first week of January intercepted an urgent communication between the leadership of al Qaeda in the Land of the Maghreb (AQIM) and al Qaeda's leadership in the tribal region of Pakistan on the border with Afghanistan. The communication suggested that an area sealed to prevent leakage of a biological or chemical substance had been breached, according to the official.

"We don't know if this is biological or chemical," the official said.

The story was first reported by the British tabloid the Sun, which said the al Qaeda operatives died after being infected with a strain of bubonic plague, the disease that killed a third of Europe's population in the 14th century. But the intelligence official dismissed that claim....

What is scary about this is that they are working with this type of weapon. Who will be the first to have this used against them?

Al Qaeda hit by Black Death fear as medieval plague kills 40 terrorists at training camp

Al Qaeda terrorists have been left fearing the Black Death plague after it wiped out at least 40 insurgents at an Algerian training camp, it was reported today.
The horror disease, which killed 25 million people in medieval Europe, is understood to have been found in a militant’s body dumped at a roadside.

Terror group AQLIM (al Qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb) was forced to turn its shelter in the Yakouren forests into mass graves and flee, it has been claimed.

The new plague epidemic is said to have begun in AQLIM’s cave hideouts of in Tizi Ouzou province, 90 miles east of the capital Algiers.

AQLIM is the largest and most powerful al Qaeda group outside the Middle East and trains Muslim fighters to kill British and American troops.

Its boss Abdelmalek Droudkal claims to command around 1,000 insurgents and masterminded the bombing the UN headquarters in Algiers in 2007, killing 41.

Black Death comes in various forms and was one of the deadliest pandemics in human history when it struck in the 1340s killing 75 million people across North Africa, Asia and Europe.

Bubonic Plague is spread by bites from infected rat fleas. Symptoms include painful boils in the groin, neck and armpits.

In Pneumonic Plague, airborn bacteria spread like flu. Without medication it can be deadly.
Although plague is virtually unheard of in developed countries, the World Health Organisation reports several thousand cases a year.

These occur mainly in southern Asia, southern Africa and central America.

Between 1989 and 2003 there were more than 38,000 cases, which caused 2,845 deaths in 25 countries.

Hamas declares "great victory" after Israeli cease-fire

In a televised speech Ismail Haniya, the Prime Minister appointed by Hamas in Gaza, said: "God has granted us a great victory, not for one faction, or party, or area, but for our entire people.
"We have stopped the aggression and the enemy has failed to achieve any of its goals."

His comments came as Israel began withdrawing troops from the Gaza strip.

Hamas has joined the ceasefire in Gaza - but said it will resume hostilities unless Israel withdraws all its troops from the area within a week.

The truce ends three weeks of bloodshed which has claimed the lives of more than 1,200 people - half of them civilians.

It has been welcomed by US President-elect Barack Obama, who takes office on Tuesday.

A spokesman said: "President-elect Obama is committed to working to help achieve lasting peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians.

"(He) will have more to say on these issues after January 20th."
Hamas militants have carried out several rocket attacks on Israel since the ceasefire came into effect.

Israeli forces responded to the first with an airstrike on the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun in which a woman and child were reportedly wounded.

Israel's war cabinet - led by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert - voted unanimously to back the ceasefire deal brokered by Egypt.

But he said Israeli troops would remain in Gaza and hit back if the militants launched further attacks.

He described the truce as "fragile" and said it would be reviewed on a "minute to minute" and "hour to hour" basis.

Hamas has said there cannot be a lasting peace until Israel pulls its troops out of Gaza and lifts a trade blockade.

Following talks in Jerusalem between the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and European leaders, Gordon Brown urged the Israelis to pull all their troops out of Gaza as soon as possible and open up border crossings.

Mr Brown said: "I believe that that would constitute the next stage following the ceasefire that will make possible the resumption of talks that are necessary for a permanent peace."...

Both Brown and Obama, among others, would do well to examine the parameters of cease-fires and peace treaties under Islamic law. For example, below is a passage from Umdat al-Salik (Reliance of the Traveler), a Shafi'i Islamic jurisprudence manual certified as "reliable" by Egypt's Al-Azhar University:

Truces are permissible, not obligatory....Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of numbers or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim...If the Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with the Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud....The rulings of such a truce are inferable from those of the non-Muslim poll tax; namely, that when a valid truce has been effected, no harm may be done to non-Muslims until it expires. o9.16

Why is Israel doing this? This is unbelievable. They need to wipe out every man, woman and child in Gaza, retake it, throw the arabs out of Israel and the West Bank and then they will have peace.

A consequence of the enshrinement of Muhammad's consummating his marriage to Aisha when she was 9 years old as a laudable act, worthy of imitating (Qur'an 33:21), is not only the stigmatization of "older" would-be brides, but that "older" is actually rather young. Hence, according to this article, the marriage of very young girls is actually on the rise.

"I'm not young anymore to get married. I am in my late thirties so it is not easy," said 38 year-old and primary school teacher Mona.

The norms of our society compel a woman to make unsatisfied choices to marry as early as possible or to remain single beyond the usual age. However, thousands of women struggle during the time they remain unmarried.

According to a new study conducted by researcher Shuroog Ba-Mogbl, more than half a million women go above their thirties and still stay unmarried. Also the motive behind spinster was revealed as the society has negative thoughts towards working women.

"Hearing negative comments about educated women, I prefer to marry uneducated rural girls as I believe that uneducated girls are more innocent and easier to control," said 27 year old Rashid Al-Sa'di.

Perhaps he has heard this Yemeni proverb: "Give me a girl of 8, and I can give you a guarantee [for a good marriage]."

"If we can liberate ourselves a little from having bad feelings towards educated women, we won't have the big crisis of early marriage in Yemen," said lawyer and human rights activist Afra Hariri. "People's way of thinking towards educated women and divorced ones raises the issue of spinster in the country" she added.

Belqis Al-Lahabi a human rights activist who also passed through struggles of being unmarried, said that educated women often prefer to marry wealthy men and this is one reason for the delay of their marriages, which also leads them to marry older men.

Is "wealthy" defined with the same low threshold as "old enough for marriage?"

Sociology professor at Sana'a University Adel Al-Sharjabi said that late marriage is believed to be a crisis not only in Yemen but also in all Arab countries. "The period of time in which the woman stays unmarried is harmful as her behavior is watched and her movements are monitored more than others," he added.

In a country where many older women are struggling to get married, the rate of early marriages are increasing dramatically. The wait that older women go through leads younger women to get married as early as possible.

"I don't know anything about my childhood only a girl who had to bring water from a far away water wells," said 28 year-old Daula Hassan who got married 15 years ago to a man in her father's age. "If I have something to regret, it is my childhood," she added.

Volunteer lawyer of (Nujood, Arwa and Reem,) who all got married before the age of 14, Shatha Nasser said that the reasons that led her clients' families to accept early marriages for their daughters was their parents financial reasons.

There is a deeper problem with a system of values that considers bartering one's daughter as an option in the face of financial difficulty.

The law before 1990 stated that the girl must reach the age of sixteen to get married and any marriage before the limited age is a crime and those who violate the law must be imprisoned not less than a year and not more than three years and pay money for the woman as a compensation.

"It is a potential risk that men turn to marry younger girls and leave adult ones," said Head of the Sister Arab Forum for Human Rights, Amal Basha.

Researcher and parliament member Faud Dahabh believe that under age marriage is not permitted in Sharia if it harms the girl. He went on that numerous cases of early marriages assured that many girls were harmed when they got married early.

"If it harms the girl." And what transparent, verifiable system is in place to ascertain that?
Sana'a university faculty of law professor Abdul Mo'men Shuja' Al-Dein said that the new law does not make it clear as it states that the marriage of the child girl is illegal." "The law also states that the silence of a woman when asked for marriage is a sign of acceptance and this law is against the international agreements that Yemen signed," he added.

Locals who got married at a early age describe their practice of sex with their wives to bakers who bake bread in cold ovens. That crass and insensitive analogy aside, one would think some of them might recognize that as sign that child marriage is not such a great idea.

Professor and jurisprudence's professor and ex-head of the Faculty of Law Sana'a University Hassan Al-Ahdel stated that it is not fair to force a female child to get married early because such a marriage could result to many problems.

He revealed that famous Islamic scholars as Abu Hainfah fixes marriage age at 18 and considers this age to be the minimum, because a man or a woman becomes full-grown and able to take decisions out of his own sense and consideration.

It will take much more than one anecdote about a favorable minimum marriage age to genuinely solve the problem. The opinion of one scholar -- however famous -- against the example of Muhammad, and the fact that the Qur'an takes child marriage for granted in allowing for divorce of girls who have not reached puberty (65:4) will not sway those who are determined to maintain child marriage. Only a broad consensus against it, stated in unequivocal terms, with the support of civil laws and clerics who will refuse to be party to child marriages will pave the way for progress. Insisting that it isn't really Islamic (except when it kind of is, but it's complicated) will not.

Early marriage is one of the biggest development challenges in Yemen according to Naseem-Ur-Rehman, Chief Information Officer at UNICEF Sana’a. A 2006 field study revealed that child marriage among Yemeni girls reached 52.1%, compared to 6.7% among males. The study, conducted by the Woman and Development Study Center, affiliated to Sana’a University, looked at 1,495 couples.

Taliban deadline arrives, girls' schools close in Pakistan's Swat Valley

Thousands of young women living in a part of Pakistan once considered the country's most idyllic tourist destination have been prevented from going to school after an order from Taliban forces which have seized control of much of the area.

Fearful of violent attacks that have already seen the torching of over 180 schools in the Swat Valley, school administrators have announced that more than 900 private schools will remain closed until the security situation improves. Government officials, struggling to organise adequate protection, have appealed to schools to extend their winter holidays until at least March. The future education of around 125,000 young women is uncertain as a result of the order, said to come into effect on January 15.

In an echo of Afghanistan under the Taliban, the campaign against female education is the latest phase of a brutal and swift advance across the valley led by local Taliban commander Maulana Fazlullah that has included the beheading of opponents, the closure of barber shops, political assassinations, kidnappings and the destruction of homes belonging to the wealthy.
Earlier this month, militants were believed to be behind attacks on the homes of the Wali of Swat, the benign autocrat who ruled the valley and who has now fled to Islamabad, and Hameedullah Khan, a reporter for the respected Dawn newspaper.

The Taliban have also introduced a parallel legal system where makeshift Sharia courts order lashes and death sentences for those seen to be violating their brand of Islamic law, said Shoukat Saleem, a lawyer.

“Yesterday there was a bombing of a school in Mingora, the main city,” he added. “No one is giving any education. Girls preparing for their matriculation exams in March have had to abandon their education. Unless the government or the Taliban announce that the situation will be ok, no one will take the risk.”

Shoukat Ali Yousafzai, the top civil administrator, said most of the schools were currently closed for winter holidays. “Once they are over, we will give security with the help of the army,” he said.

But in a sign of worsening security in even Mingora, which until recently been beyond the reach of the Taliban, Mr Yousafzai said around 50 corpses had been discovered dumped this month. Some have been found beheaded, others carried a note warning readers not to remove the body before an appointed time.

Ziauddin Yousafzai, a spokesman for the Private Schools Management Association, said: “It will be very difficult to reopen the schools as long as there is no political solution of the problem? The Taliban are now the de facto rulers of Swat.”...

Muslim Khan, the militants' spokesman, said they would not allow girls' schools to operate until the army withdraws from the valley and Islamic law is imposed. "These schools are being run under a system introduced by the British and promote obscenity and vulgarity in society," Khan said by telephone from an undisclosed location.

WSJ: Hey, let's call it a war against "Islamic supremacy"!

James Taranto has had a great new idea: let's not call it a War On Terror, but a War On "Islamic Supremacy"!

[...] So, how does one describe these movements? "Terrorist," as we have noted, is too imprecise, a reference to tactics, not ideology. What we need is a term that acknowledges that they are Islamic movements without implying anything invidious about Muslims who do not belong to such movements.

The answer: Islamic supremacy. The analogous term, white supremacy, is in no way offensive to whites, Indeed, condemnations of white supremacy generally succeed at shaming whites into shunning groups like the Ku Klux Klan, just as the West hopes to shame Muslims into shunning Islamic supremacist groups.

We would define Islamic supremacy as follows: a doctrine that seeks to subjugate or exterminate non-Muslims, or convert them to Islam by force. This is slightly different from white supremacy, in that there is no such thing as a racial conversion--but we think the analogy is close enough to be useful.

This is getting too close to the bone, so Taranto draws back into a comfortable moral equivalence, gliding over the fact that while Christianity and Islam are universalist, Christianity lacks the militaristic imperative to subjugate nonbelievers that is taught by all the orthodox sects of Islam:

One might argue that supremacy is inherent in Islam, inasmuch as it claims to be the one true religion and (unlike some other faiths, such as Judaism) seeks converts. But the same is true of Christianity, which has largely made peace with secular modernity and religious pluralism. Reconciling Islam with religious pluralism is a task for Muslims. Combating Islamic supremacist movements is one for non-Muslims and nonsupremacist Muslims alike. [...]

The entire koran is about the supremacy of the arab. They make people memorize the koran in arabic. 95% of all muslims do not speak or understand arabic. So, they are learning how to just say words that have no meaning for them. Then there is the dress for both men and women. The dress proscribed is from the seventh century arabian desert.

I like this idea. Terror is a tactic. Supremism is an ism. Now that we know how to fight.

Witnesses said the U.N. compound was hit by Israeli white phosphorus shells. Under the rules of war, white phosphorus can only be used in open spaces away from civilian populations....

Let some Guantanamo Bay detainees live in U.S., advocates say

For countries to feel comfortable taking prisoners off American hands, the U.S. has to show it is OK by taking some itself, human rights advocates say. The Obama team is considering the move.

I knew this shit was coming as soon as our muslim president elect said that he is going to sign an executive order to close Gitmo.


Reporting from Washington -- Human rights advocates are urging the incoming Obama administration to allow some detainees from the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to resettle as U.S. residents as part of any plan to close the controversial facility.

Taking such a step would go beyond plans outlined so far to close the prison and transfer detainees to other countries or to military prisons on the U.S. mainland. But allowing a small number -- perhaps only two or three -- to live freely in the U.S. could help persuade other countries to accept some of them as well.

"If we want European and other countries to feel comfortable taking at least some of the prisoners off American hands, the U.S. will have to show it is OK by taking some itself," said Tom Malinowski, the Washington advocacy director of Human Rights Watch.

President-elect Barack Obama's transition team is considering the option, but a Democratic official said there has been no conclusion that the resettlement option is necessary to Obama's plans. Under the plans, Obama would issue an executive order within a week of assuming the presidency to close Guantanamo in a year, according to Democratic officials speaking on condition of anonymity because he has not yet taken office. That would give the government time to persuade other countries to take some of the detainees who no longer are considered to be a serious threat. It also would give the administration time to prepare prosecutions for other detainees in U.S. courts or in court-martial proceedings.


The incoming administration has decided to abandon the military commission system devised under President Bush, which has produced three convictions in seven years. Brooke Anderson, a transition spokeswoman, said Obama would decide how to handle detainees after his administration was in place. "President-elect Obama has repeatedly said that he believes that the legal framework at Guantanamo has failed to successfully and swiftly prosecute terrorists, and he shares the broad bipartisan belief that Guantanamo should be closed," she said.

With time to send many of the prisoners to other countries, the plan could avert a mass transfer of the 250 detainees to a U.S. military facility, most likely at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., or Charleston, S.C. It also could avoid the need for a new federal law that allows indefinite detention of prisoners without trial, something the incoming administration has ruled out for now.Under the plans, only detainees who are to be prosecuted would be sent to U.S. prisons.

As Justice Department lawyers prepare cases for trial, the State Department will work to transfer others to their home country or to other countries. Detainees cannot be returned to their home country if doing so would put them at risk of torture.

Many Guantanamo detainees have complained of torture during their captivity; Obama has said that tainted evidence cannot be used at trial. On Wednesday, a federal judge in Washington ordered the release of a 21-year-old former Saudi resident who has been in custody since he was 14, saying evidence against him was unreliable. U.S. officials might appeal the ruling.

The transfer process has proved difficult for the Bush administration. Although the State Department may have better results under Obama, it still will face difficulty placing prisoners once described by the U.S. as terrorist threats.

Elisa Massimino, the executive director of Human Rights First, said resettling a few detainees in the U.S would be a wise move for Obama."After seven years of being fed the line that everyone there is the worst of the worst, it would help enormously if the United States would set an example that would put the lie to that, by taking one or two of the people," she said.Allowing former detainees to live freely in the U.S. probably would be controversial.

But Massimino said public concern might ease if the Obama administration were to explain the background of those allowed into the U.S.

Leeds imam failed to tell £1m disabled wife that he'd married second woman

A MUSLIM teacher divorced his severely disabled wife without her knowing so he could keep access to her £1m compensation, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Khalil Kazi, believed to be a former imam at Armley jail and in Batley Carr, married again under Islamic law in Morocco while his original wife, Meimuna, thought she was still married, the jury was told. Mrs Kazi only learned her marriage had been dissolved when she applied for a divorce.

Prosecuting David Hall said that Kazi, 39, of Batley Carr, had falsified divorce papers and perjured himself by falsely swearing a witness statement for a grant of divorce.

His plot collapsed after four years, in 2006, Mr Hall said, when Mrs Kazi visited Dewsbury County Court in March 2006 to apply for a decree of judicial separation.

Giving evidence wearing a veil, wheelchair user Mrs Kazi told the court how she reacted when she was told there was already a divorce in place.She said: "My solicitor went to speak to Mr Kazi's solicitor and she came back with the shocking news that I was already divorced... I was very shocked. I trusted my husband and I never expected he would do this to me."

She added: "I felt very guilty he had lived with me for one year living in adultery.

It's an injustice to NOT marry girls aged 10, says Saudi cleric

Saudi Arabia's most senior cleric has told followers it is permissible for ten-year-old girls to marry and anyone who think they are too young are doing the youngsters 'an injustice'.
Abdul-Azeez ibn Abdullaah Aal ash-Shaikh, the country's grand mufti, said: 'It is wrong to say it's not permitted to marry off girls who are 15 and younger.

'A female who is ten or 12 is marriageable and those who think she's too young are wrong and are being unfair to her,' he said during a Monday lecture.

Al Sheikh's comments come at a time when Saudi human rights groups have been pushing the government to put an end to marriages involving the very young and to define a minimum age for marriage.

In the past few months, Saudi newspapers have highlighted several cases in which young girls were married off to much older men or very young boys.

Though the mufti's pronouncements are respected and provide guidance, the government is not legally bound by them.

On Sunday, the government-run Human Rights Commission condemned marriages of minor girls, saying such marriages are an 'inhumane violation' and rob children of their rights.

The commission's statement followed a ruling by a court in Oneiza in central Saudi Arabia last month that dismissed a divorce petition by the mother of an eight-year-old girl whose father married her off to a man in his 50s.

Newspaper reports said the court argued that the mother did not have the right to file such a case on behalf of her daughter and said that the petition should be filed by the girl when she reaches puberty.

Responding to a question about parents who force their underage daughters to marry, the mufti said: 'We hear a lot about the marriage of underage girls in the media, and we should know that Islamic law has not brought injustice to women.'

The mufti said a good upbringing will make a girl capable of carrying out her duties as a wife and that those who say women should not marry before the age of 25 are following a 'bad path'.

'Our mothers and before them, our grandmothers, married when they were barely 12,' said Al Sheikh, according to the Al-Hayat newpaper.

There are no statistics to show how many marriages involving children are performed in Saudi Arabia every year.

It is also not clear whether these unions are on the rise or whether people are hearing about them more now because of the prevalence of media outlets and easy access to the Internet.

Activists say the girls are given away in return for hefty dowries or as a result of long-standing custom in which a father promises his infant daughters and sons to cousins out of a belief that marriage will protect them from illicit relationships.

Portuguese Church: 'Think twice about marrying Muslims'

The head of the Catholic Church in Portugal is advising Portuguese women to think twice before marrying a Muslim.

Cardinal Jose Policarpo says Christians should learn more about Islam and respect Muslims.

But he says marrying a Muslim man can bring 'a whole lot of trouble' because Christian women become subject to Muslim conventions.

Policarpo insists the Portuguese church has warm relations with the country's Muslim population of around 100,000.

Policarpo's comments were made at a public debate late Tuesday and were broadcast by local media Wednesday.

There is no recent history of animosity between Christians and Muslims in Portugal, where 85 percent of people say they are Catholic.

Pentagon: 61 ex-Gitmo inmates have returned to jihad

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Pentagon said on Tuesday that 61 former detainees from its military prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, appear to have returned to terrorism since their release from custody.

Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said 18 former detainees are confirmed as "returning to the fight" and 43 are suspected of having done in a report issued late in December by the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Morrell declined to provide details such as the identity of the former detainees, why and where they were released or what actions they have taken since leaving U.S. custody.

"This is acts of terrorism. It could be Iraq, Afghanistan, it could be acts of terrorism around the world," he told reporters.

Morrell said the latest figures, current through December 24, showed an 11 percent recidivism rate, up from 7 percent in a March 2008 report that counted 37 former detainees as suspected or confirmed active militants....

The Pentagon said it considers a former detainee's return to terrorism "confirmed" when evidence shows direct involvement in terrorist activities. U.S. officials see a "suspected" terrorism links when intelligence shows a plausible link with terrorist activities.

"Propaganda does not qualify as a terrorist activity," the Pentagon said in a statement.

Maybe not. But has the Pentagon stopped to consider that terrorist activity is born from propaganda, and that maybe they need to take off the PC blinkers long enough to examine that propaganda, its content and sources, and formulate some ways to deal with the challenge it presents.

Now the Messaih is going to issue an executive order to close Gitmo on "Day one" of his riegn. What is the chosen one going to do with these terrorists. These men did not just randomly get picked up and put into Gitmo. They were waging jihad on the battlefield. Personally, I think they should be shot on site, but we do need intelligence. Man who could be dead says: "There is only one strong way to bring the return of al-Aqsa and Palestine, and that is jihad in the path of God"

CAIRO, Egypt: Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden urged Muslims to launch a jihad against Israel and condemned Arab governments for preventing a holy way in a new message Wednesday aimed at harnessing anger in the Mideast over Israel's Gaza offensive.

Bin Laden spoke in an audiotape posted on Islamic militant Web sites where al-Qaida usually issues its messages — his first tape since May and his first since Israel launched its offensive in Gaza against Palestinian Hamas militants nearly three weeks ago.

"There is only one strong way to bring the return of al-Aqsa and Palestine, and that is jihad in the path of God," bin Laden said in the 22-minute audiotape, referring to the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. "The duty is to urge people to jihad and to enlist the youth into jihad brigades."

"Muslim nation, you are capable of defeating the Zionist entity with your popular capabilities and your great hidden strength — without the support of (Arab) leaders and despite the the fact that most of (the leaders) stand in the barracks of the Crusader-Zionist alliance," bin Laden said.
The authenticity of the tape could not be independently confirmed, but the voice resembled that of bin Laden in previous messages.

The tape, entitled "Call for jihad to stop the aggression on Gaza," was played over a still picture of bin Laden and the al-Aqsa Mosque, but without the English subtitles and flashy production effects that usually accompany such messages....

How can anyone in the West not understand that the muslims are waging a world wide jihad against the West? Israel is just one of the fronts of the jihad. I hope Israel finally takes out every last muslim in Gaza and retakes it for itself.

An American Jihadi in Somalia and his Al Qaeda friends in Washington

We reported last month that Washington state jihadi Ruben Shumpert (a.k.a. Amir Abdul Muhaimeen) was recently killed in Somalia fighting for the al Qaeda linked al Shebaab. You'll recall that Shumpert actually called the FBI from Somalia mocking their efforts to capture him. All's well that ends well, eh?

The group has now released a "biography" of Shumpert which recounts his childhood in a rough neighborhood, how he converted to Islam in jail, and how he eventually went to Somalia for the jihad. You can read the entire bio here.

But perhaps the most important piece of the story is an admission that Shumpert turned to the Salafi strand of Islam after he met with some Muslims in Washington who had recently returned from fighting the jihad in Chechnya:

Allah guided him to the path of righteousness, when he met some brothers who had returned from Chechnya. He became acquainted with them, and they provided him with some educational and jihadi video recordings. Our knight was very fond of Shaykh Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, may Allah have mercy on him, and he hoped to join [Zarqawi] in Mesopotamia.

In the bio we learn that these friends were not the Somalians who later convinced Shumpert to heed the call of Zawahiri and join the jihad in Somalia.

So, who are Ruben Shumpert's friends who had been to Chechnya and are they still on the loose in Washington?

Muslims like this are running around our country. We need to hunt them down and expell them. If they are a US citizen they need to be tried for treason and exported to some muslim country where they will feel right at home. Or, just kill them.

Palestinian Children

If Israel does not wipe out every last muslim in Gaza this is what they are going to keep having to deal with. Hamas may claim that they are sad for their martyrs deaths, but they relish death. They are teaching their children how to hate Jews and all non-muslims. They are teaching them about jihad and how it is best to die in the cause of jihad in the name of allah the moon god.

Father Zakaria Botros on "The perverse sexual habits of the Prophet"

Life TV’s Father Zakaria Botros recently ran a show dedicated to discussing the question of morality and how it is—or should be—one of the hallmarks of “prophethood.” At the start, he posed the focal question of the show: “Was Muhammad the prophet a moral man—the most upright man, worthy of being emulated by the world?”

After the preliminaries, Botros looked at the camera and gave a stern warning: “This episode is for adults only! I am going to discuss many things that make me blush for shame, so please: have the women and children leave the room.”

He then asked Muslims watching to keep in mind the question “Is this the prophet I follow?” as he delineated some of Muhammad’s sexual habits.

First, from the Koran, Botros read verses unequivocally stating that Muhammad is the paragon of all virtue and morality, such as “And most surely you [Muhammad] conform (yourself) to sublime morality [68: 4].” He further quoted the ulema, such as Ibn Kathir, all insisting that Muhammad was the “Noblest of all humanity, and the greatest of prophets.”

Israeli politicians, 2004: Disengagement from Gaza will bring peace

This is what happens when public officials ignore and deny the Islamic doctrines of jihad and Islamic supremacism. These politicians were all wrong, and what we were warning here -- that the withdrawal from Gaza would only embolden the jihadists -- was right. But it appears that in Israel, as in America, the political and media elites don't ever seem to face serious accountability for their errors of judgment and willful ignorance.

Israel using Gaza as 'test laboratory' for new weapon: medics

OSLO (AFP) – Israel is testing a new "extremely nasty" type of weapon in Gaza, two medics charged as they returned home to Norway Monday after spending 10 days working at a hospital in the war-torn Palestinian territory.

"There's a very strong suspicion I think that Gaza is now being used as a test laboratory for new weapons," Mads Gilbert told reporters at Oslo's Gardermoen airport, commenting on the kinds of injuries he and his colleague Erik Fosse had seen while working at the Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
The two medics, who were sent into the war zone by the pro-Palestinian aid organisation NORWAC on December 31, said they had seen clear signs that Dense Inert Metal Explosives (DIME), an experimental kind of explosive, were being used in Gaza.

"This is a new generation of very powerful small explosives that detonates with an extreme power and dissipates its power within a range of five to 10 metres (16-98 feet)," said Gilbert, 61.
"We have not seen the casualties affected directly by the bomb because they are normally torn to pieces and do not survive, but we have seen a number of very brutal amputations... without shrapnel injuries which we strongly suspect must have been caused by the DIME weapons," he added.

The weapon "causes the tissue to be torn from the flesh. It looks very different (from a shrapnel injury). I have seen and treated a lot of different injuries for the last 30 years in different war zones, and this looks completely different," said Fosse, 58.

"If you are in the immediate (vicinity of) a DIME weapon, it's like your legs get torn off. It's an enormous pressure wave and there is no shrapnel," he explained.

Gilbert also accused Israel of having used the weapon in the 2006 Lebanon war and previously in Gaza, and referred to studies showing wounds from the explosive could cause lethal forms of cancer within just four to six months.

"Israel should disclose what weapons they use and the international community should make an investigation," he said, stressing the amount of damage apparently caused by the new form of explosive.

"We are not soft-skinned when it comes to war injuries, but these amputations are really extremely nasty and for many of the patients not survivable," he said.

It is the "Dime Weapon" again. This is the same claim that the muslims used in Lebanon against the other terrorist group hezbullah. To me it sounds like a fuel-air explosive. There is no shrapnel, unlike the bombs the terrorists use. This will limit casualties to within the blast wave. So, terrorists and their human shields are within the blast area of this weapon and they get killed. TOO BAD. They started this war. Israel is goint to finish it, I hope.
