Queen's medal of honour scrapped... because it's too Christian for Muslims and Hindus

A medal personally established by the Queen is being withdrawn after it was deemed offensive to Muslims and Hindus.

The honour - known as The Trinity Cross of the Order of Trinity - has been ruled unlawful and too Christian.

It has been awarded to 62 distinguished residents of the former colony of Trinidad and Tobago over more than 40 years, including cricketers Brian Lara and Garfield Sobers, novelist V.S. Naipaul and many diplomats and politicians.

But groups representing the Caribbean islands' Muslim and Hindu communities - which account for around a third of their 1.3million-strong population - had argued that the words 'Trinity' and 'Cross' were 'overtly Christian'. They also said the use of a cross insignia was offensive.

Five British law lords, all members of the Privy Council, have ruled that the honour breached the right to equality and the right to freedom of conscience and belief.

The Council is an obscure body made up of senior politicians, bishops and peers. They advise the monarch on the exercise of the Royal Prerogative and act as a final court of appeal for many former colonies.

In the judgment, Lord Hope of Craighead said that the Trinity Cross was 'perceived by Hindus and Muslims living in Trinidad and Tobago as an overtly Christian symbol both in name and substance' and as such breached the islands' constitution of 1976.

It will be replaced with the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago - a circular medal featuring a sun, stars, water and a map of the islands.

Lawyer Anand Ramlogan of Hindu association Maha Saba said of the decision: 'It's a vindication of the 40 years of disquiet and unease silently suffered by the Muslim and Hindu communities whose legitimate grievance with the Trinity Cross was flippantly dismissed by successive governments.'

The implications of the ruling are being studied by lawyers in the Cabinet Office, which oversees the honours system. Hugh Peskett, editor-in-chief of Burke's Peerage and Gentry, warned that changing the names of titles to remove Christian references would destroy hundreds of years of history. 'Part of the significance of an honour is its antiquity,' he said.

The Queen is due to visit Trinidad and Tobago - which won independence in 1962 - in November for the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.

Officers stripped of stop and search terror powers over fears of angering Muslims

Scotland Yard is scaling down its use of controversial powers which allow officers to stop and search people without reasonable grounds for suspicion.

Stung by criticism that the practice has alienated ethnic minorities, the Metropolitan Police is changing its policy on when Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 can be employed.

In future its use will be restricted to policing 'iconic' or strategically important sites, such as Buckingham Palace and Parliament, and to specific operations.

In other cases officers will be told to use Section 43 of the Act, which requires them to have reasonable suspicion that the person they are stopping is a terrorist.

The Met increased its use of the Section 44 powers following the car bomb attacks on a nightclub in Haymarket, Central London, and Glasgow Airport in June 2007.

Since October of that year the force has carried out 154,293 stop and searches.

But Government figures released last week showed that black and Asian people were targeted disproportionately.

Assistant Commissioner John Yates, who took over as the force's anti-terror chief last month, highlighted the concerns in a recent report to the Met Police Authority.

He wrote: 'The power is seen as controversial and has the potential to have a negative impact, particularly on minority communities.'

Taliban fighters use civilians as 'human shields' as battle for Pakistan tears Swat Valley apart

Taliban fighters are reportedly using terrified civilians as human shields today as fierce fighting tore through Pakistan's north-west frontier.

Militants blocked roads with rocks and trees as the the army stepped up a ferocious ground and air assault.

The military had relaxed a blanket curfew in the area, which should have allowed many thousands to escape the Swat Valley, the frontline in a bloody conflict between extremists and the government.

But witnesses said civilians were forced to dodge blockades as well as bullets as the Taliban resorted to increasingly desperate tactics.

Ayaz Khan, 39, from the Kanju area of Swat, said he had attempted to flee with his family by car but found that the road was blocked by rocks, boulders and tree trunks.He was forced to turn back. 'I am helpless, frustrated and worried for my family,' he said in a phone call.

On the streets of Mingora, Swat's capital, witnesses reported seeing heavily armed Taliban fighters roaming the streets as residents cowered in their homes.

One health worker said she had been warned to stay inside by militants.

'During the whole of last night, I heard firing, and again this morning,' said the woman, who would only give her first name, Maryam.

'I don't know when some weapon will hit our home and kill us.'

Wow, muslims using their own people as human shields? Noooo, say it ain't so. No one at the UN is going to say anything about this because it is muslims killing other muslims. Unlike with hamas and hezbullah being killed by Israel.

British Muslims have more faith in UK than Britons, study finds

British Muslims identify with Britain far more than the general public and have more confidence in the country’s institutions, according to research published today.

The results of the survey, which showed that 77 per cent of British Muslims were loyal to Britain compared with 36 per cent of the general public, challenge a perception that the community is less patriotic than the country at large. It also recorded that the community had more confidence in British courts, elections, financial bodies and the media than the general public. The survey showed that more than eight out of ten thought that their fellow British Muslims were loyal to the country, but only 36 per cent of the general public did.

The report, by Gallup and the Coexist Foundation , a charity dedicated to promoting understanding between Jews, Christians and Muslims, re- ported that confidence in the military was the only area where British Muslims scored less than the general public. The authors said:

“Since 9/11 and the terrorist attacks in Madrid and London, mistrust towards European Muslims has become palpable. Significant segments of European societies openly express doubt that Muslim fellow nationals are loyal citizens.

“The general construct of this premise rests on an oversimplified and erroneous understanding of Islam and terrorism.”

Gates: Send Yemenis through the Saudi rehab program

Jake Tapper reports that the Obama administration continues to flail on its stated policy of closing the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Defense Secretary Robert Gates tried offering a solution to the most intractable problem, figuring out what to do with 97 Yemenis who represent the worst of the worst in terrorism. His solution, though, won’t instill much confidence:

This morning in Riyadh, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he spoke to Saudi Assistant Minister of the Interior Muhammed bin Nayaf about sending the roughly 100 Yemeni detainees currently in the detainee center at Guantanamo Bay to Saudi Arabia to the Saudi government’s rehabilitation program for jihadis.

Gates said he spoke to Nayaf last night about “our positive impression of the repatriation program, the rehabilitation, repatriation program in Saudi Arabia. I think they’ve probably done as good if not better job of that than almost anybody and explored the possibility of some of the Yemeni detainees coming through that system. I think the notion would be if it worked at all it would be those with strong Saudi family connections or strong connections to Saudi Arabia.”

Earlier this year the Saudi government published a list of 85 wanted terrorism suspects. Eleven of them had been prisoners at Guantanamo put through the Saudi rehabilitation program.
Said Ali al-Shihri, transferred to Saudi Arabia from Guantanamo during the Bush administration in 2007, currently deputy leader of al Qaeda’s Yemen branch.

The Bush administration also released Gitmo detainee Ghulam Rasoul into the Saudi rehabilitation program. Now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir, he’s a leader against U.S. forces in southern Afghanistan, according to military and intelligence officials.

Since Obama wants to destroy this country from within and without, this is just about right. Remember the last time this was tried?

Obama 'whitewashing' reality of Islamic threat

The head of a pro-Israel organization says he's worried that the Barack Obama administration could be the most hostile ever to the state of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit the White House later this month for the first time since he took office March 31. Netanyahu has not endorsed the creation of a Palestinian state, though that has been a cornerstone of Western policy in the region. As a result, there have been predictions of clashes between the governments of Obama and Netanyahu.

Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, admits he is worried about how Obama will deal with the Jewish state.

"This could turn out to be the most hostile administration to Israel we have ever seen," Klein laments. "Remember, this isn't good for America. A weak Israel is not able fight Islamic terrorism as a strong Israel can -- and Israel is America's only reliable ally in the Middle East."

Klein says Obama does not even want to acknowledge what his own country is facing.

"He said we should not use the word 'terrorist' anymore -- [instead] we should use the word 'man-caused disaster,'" he explains. "And we shouldn't use the term 'war on terrorism' anymore -- [instead] we should use the term 'overseas contingency operations.'

"So he's trying to whitewash the reality and the fact that we are in the midst in a war against Islamist terrorism," Klein concludes.

Netanyahu is expected to unveil his official foreign policy before heading to Washington in mid-May.

He better stand strong for Israel, he will be facing Barack Hussain Obama, first muslim president.

National Prayer Day

The Obama administration is not planning on anything special for National Prayer Day. Every other president has made statements and declared the day a national day for all, even athiests like myself. He has been to one mass in a church since he became president. What happened to him being a Christian? I will tell you, he is a muslim that bowes down to mecca five times per day to pray to his god of hatred.

UK: 8 KFC outlets going to halal-only menu

Here is yet another indication of how pleas by Muslim minorities for pluralism and tolerance all too quickly turn into Islamic supremacist assertions that non-Muslims must abide by Islamic norms. And in this case, as in so many others, the non-Muslims in question willingly take on their subservient role, in pursuit of the bottom line.

Fast food giant Kentucky Fried Chicken is to launch a halal-only menu in eight of its London stores in a move which could be extended to other areas of the UK.

The menu, which will form part of a trial, will see the stores selling chicken products which have been fully approved by the Halal Food Authority for the first time.

KFC has 720 stores across the UK, and bosses said the move was designed to ensure the company was catering to a broader range of customers, following a growing demand for halal products.

A broader range of customers? Seems like a narrower range to me.

It is the latest fast food chain to introduce a halal-only menu after Domino's launched one at a Birmingham store in February.

From this week, KFC bargain buckets, crispy strips and family feasts bought in certain outlets serving high Muslim populations will all have the halal-approved stamp.

The fast-food chain has so far converted eight of its London restaurants to sell the meat, in areas including Forest Gate, West Ham, Tottenham and Bethnal Green.

The chosen branches, which also include those in Beckton, Leyton, Edmonton and Hounslow, will have a logo on the door telling visitors that all food served has been fully approved by the Halal Food Authority (HFA).

As Muslims cannot eat pork, the Halal branches have removed the Big Daddy burger from the menu as it contains bacon....

Domino's said the change has improved business despite an initial backlash from non-halal customers who complained they were not able to order pizzas such as the Meteor which contains pepperoni, sausage, meatballs and bacon.

Pepperoni, sausage, and bacon not served in a pizza place just to placate a religious group. And meatballs? Those are from beef. See how the world is bowing to their muslim masters? Remember, Obama showed us what the end goal is, bow to muslims.

India: Pakistan is "taking U.S. for a ride"

"The Pakistan government wants the world to believe it is less stable and in need of assistance, to be bailed out, but giving them more economic aid is like giving the bottle to an alcoholic," said one source.

The Indian government believes Pakistan is "taking the United States for a ride" in its war against Islamic militants who are now just 60 miles from the capital Islamabad.

Officials in India say that, despite major military operations in the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan has no will to challenge the Taliban and other jihadi groups because it needs them to carry out terrorist attacks in India and to maintain its influence in Afghanistan.

The assessment emerged after one of India's public prosecutors applied for an arrest warrant against a senior Pakistan Army officer it believes helped to co-ordinate the terrorist attack on Mumbai last November in which well-trained commando-style "fedayeen" killed more than 170 in a three-day-siege.Its investigation into the massacre revealed that a Colonel Sadatullah of the Pakistan Army's Signal Communication Organisation had contacted the terrorists by email.

Manmohan Singh, India's prime minister, accused Pakistan's security apparatus of involvement in planning the attack, which officials believe would not have been possible without their logistical support.

Officials say Pakistan created both the Taliban and groups like Lashkar e Taiba, which was behind the Mumbai attack, to further its strategic interests in India and Afghanistan, and could rain them in if it had the political will. Instead it is using them to create a sense of panic in Washington which will in turn lead to greater military aid.

Kanwal Sibal, a former foreign secretary, told The Daily Telegraph there were three types of Taliban in Pakistan – those focused on Afghanistan, those who are pro-Islamabad, and those who are challenging the government. The latter now posed a serious threat to Pakistan, but Islamabad had created them all.

"There's concern that the United States does not have an answer and giving them more economic aid without any conditions doesn't discourage Pakistan from pursuing reckless domestic policies," he said.

Obama is a muslim, we all know this. He is supporting the destruction of the US followed by the rest of the world.

Muqtada al-Sadr promoted to "Ayatollah"

Baghdad, 5 May (AKI) - Radical Iraqi Shia cleric, Moqtada al-Sadr, is reported to have assumed the title of Grand Ayatollah after concluding his studies in the holy city of Qom in Iran. Sources close to the cleric's faction released the news to the Arab daily, al-Sharq al-Awsat.[...]

Al-Sadr joined his supporters after completing two years of study in Iran and was expected to return to Iraq this week to resume his religious leadership.

During the Shia conference entitled 'The Al-Sadr faction and future challenges', Al-Sadr's supporters renewed their commitment to fight the occupation of their country and demand the removal of all foreign troops, while seeking greater collaboration with other Iraqi political parties.

In 2004, al-Sadr's militia launched an uprising against American troops in Baghdad and British forces in the Shia heartland of southern Iraq.

But his militia suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Iraq's new army last year and his followers have reportedly now turned to mainstream politics.

Al-Sadr is the son of a revered Ayatollah, Mohammed Sadiq al-Sadr, who represented oppressed majority Shias during Saddam Hussein's dictatorship.

He was murdered by the former regime in 1999, an assassination which provoked widespread riots in Shia areas.

This is future trouble for Iraq. Looks like Iran will be running or working with Iraq soon. We are pulling out after June of this year. After all the men and money we spent getting rid of Sadam we are turning the country over to terrorists. Muslims are a patient lot. They are working on taking over the world step by step. Once the world is totally muslim the sunni's and shia are going to fight to the last man. He will then exclaim "allah akbar" and kill himself.

Exposing the Anti-Semitic Values of the Muslim Students Association

Islam as purveyed to the American public by the mass media and the US government is virtually unrelated to the religion practiced by the vast majority of the members of the Muslim Students Association. Although the MSA presents itself to others as a benign social organization with no other purpose than promoting the legitimate interests of students from the Mid East and elsewhere in Dar Al-Islam, in actual fact the group seeks to further militant anti-Semitic Islam, especially its Wahhabi form.

All of us are done a disservice by depictions of Islam as a "religion of peace" akin to church-on-the-corner Christianity. For while there are peaceful Muslims and while some schools of Islam , like various Sufi groups, fit the image that the press and TV want us to believe is true for all of Islam, normative Islam is very different. It is anti-Semitic , that is, anti-Jewish, in its core values, in addition to considering followers of most of the great religions of the world as beneath contempt, deserving ridicule, insult, and death.

Richard Reeves: Better keep an eye on Pakistan’s nukes

NEW YORK — Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord that the United States and India have plans to seize Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.

I, for one, was badly shaken on Monday when Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, held a news conference to report on his recent trip to Pakistan and his private meetings with President Barack Obama and the White House’s security guys, beginning with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. The Associated Press headline was:

“MULLEN SAYS HE BELIEVES PAKISTAN NUKES ARE SECURE”

Believes? That’s nice, especially considering Pakistani officials have been lying to the world about those weapons for more than 25 years. They denied they were trying to develop the weapons. They denied they were actually developing them. They lied about having them. They lied about where they are.

I can only pray that the government of India, the country Pakistan’s nuclear missiles are aimed at, is not as credulous as Adm. Mullen. At his conference he said he did not “think” the weapons — about a hundred of them — would eventually be controlled by the Taliban. And I hope the Indians are not as “confident” as President Obama said he was about the missiles after meeting with Mullen last weekend. More than that I pray that Indian intelligence agencies know where the bombs are.

You can be sure that the Taliban, which is practically part of the Pakistani intelligence establishment, knows where the nukes are. And the Taliban will know in advance if the Pakistanis try to move them — and they will try to grab one or two if they hit the roads.

“I’m confident that we can make sure that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is secure,” Obama said last week, “primarily, initially, because the Pakistani army, I think, recognizes the hazards of those weapons falling into the wrong hands.” He added: “We’ve got strong military-to-military consultation and cooperation.”

Confident? Whatever is in their hearts about Islam, about the United States, about the Taliban, the Pakistani army can’t fight. The recipient of billions upon billions of U.S. dollars and training over the decades, the great Pakistan army is essentially a national police force configured to try to keep the “masses” in their place to protect the government in Islamabad — a government which, more often than not, has been the army itself.

Basically, since becoming a country, a haven for Muslims when the British left colonial India in 1947, the Pakistani army has fought and quickly lost three wars against the country of India. The most spectacular of those defeats came in 1970, when they lost East Pakistan, which was more than half the nation and is now the country of Bangladesh. That happened when the Indian army rolled up the Pakistani army in days.

Now, this is the situation, as reported in Monday’s New York Times:“We are largely relying on assurances, the same assurances we have been hearing for years,” said one senior official who was involved in the dialogue with Pakistan during the Bush years and remains involved today.
“The worse things get, the more strongly they hew to the line, ‘Don’t worry; we’ve got it under control.’”

Right. The United States government was buying that crap as long ago as the 1980s, when I was living in Islamabad. One of my neighbors, A.Q. Kahn, was going to work every morning with a military escort to a place called Kahuta, where he was in charge of developing the Pakistan nuclear bomb. Everybody knew that, including every American in Pakistan, but we were buying Pakistan in those days because we needed them in the mujahideen war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

We declared victory when the Soviets withdrew after nine years and their government collapsed. Then we went back to ignoring Pakistan, which was governed by a three-way deal between rich Westernized elites, the army and the mullahs, the clerics who control the medieval life of “the masses” — and educated many of their children in the madrassas that graduated the Taliban.

If all this sounds “alarmist,” it is meant to be. I only hope the Indians, no innocents abroad, are on this case and understand it better than we do. These could be the final days of “modern” Pakistan — and maybe of other peoples as well.Richard Reeves is a columnist for Universal Press Syndicate.

U.S. military destroys soldier's Bibles

The U.S. military is confirming that it has destroyed some Bibles belonging to an American soldier serving in Afghanistan.

Reuters News says the Bibles were confiscated and destroyed after Qatar-based Al Jazeer television showed soldiers at a Bible class on a base with a stack of Bibles translated into the local Pashto and Dari languages. The U.S. military forbids its members on active duty -- including those based in places like Afghanistan -- from trying to convert people to another religion.

Reuters quotes Maj. Jennifer Willis at the Bagram Air Base, north of Kabul, who said "I can now confirm that the Bibles shown on Al Jazeera's clip were, in fact, collected by the chaplains and later destroyed. They were never distributed."

According to the military officials, the Bibles were sent through private mail to an evangelical Christian soldier by his church back home. Reuters says the soldier brought them to the Bible study class where they were filmed.

The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, told a Pentagon briefing Monday that the military's position is that it will never "push any specific religion."

It is ok for muslims to come to our country and do dawa, but god forbid a bible get into the hands of a muslim or even into a muslim country. It is right in their book to not allow muslims to read any other book besides the koran. Gee I wonder why? Maybe because they would drop the hate filled book the koran and believe in peaceful co-existance with the rest of the world.

Anomaly in Iran: adulterer stoned to death, adulteress "repented and so has not been stoned"

Usually women are stoned for adultery, while the men are exonerated. Sharia Alert from the Islamic Republic of Iran: "Adulterer stoned to death in Iran," from AFP, May 5 (thanks to JE):
A man convicted of committing adultery has been stoned to death in a northern Iranian city, a top judiciary official said.

The stoning was carried out in the city of Rasht during the Iranian month of Esfand which ended on March 20, judiciary spokesman Ali Reza Jamshidi said.

He said the woman involved in the case has "repented and so has not been stoned".

Under Iran's Islamic law, adultery is still punishable by stoning, which involves the public hurling of stones at a partially buried convict. A man is buried up to his waist and a woman up to her shoulders.

Convicts are spared if they can free themselves.

They are not spared if they can free themselves, I have seen videos of they reburing a woman twice after she got out of the hole. She did not make it.

The Aftab-e Yazd newspaper reported that a 30-year-old government employee identified only as "V", was stoned in a prison in Rasht on March 5. Some Iranian news websites identified him as Vali Azad.

Five Iranians have reportedly been stoned to death in the past four years, including two men in Mashhad in December last year, despite a 2002 directive by judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahrudi imposing a moratorium on such executions.

Latest conspiracy theory: US behind Pakistani crisis to eliminate nukes

Furthermore, not only is America "not our [Pakistanis'] friend," but “We will never allow US to continue its mission of killing innocent people in Pakistan.” Of course not; that task is reserved for the Taliban.

MANSEHRA: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch Sunday claimed the US had hatched a conspiracy to pitch Pakistan Army against its own people to accomplish the mission of destroying the nuclear arsenal of Pakistan.

“America is not our friend as it never supported us in crucial times. The government launched army operation in Dir and Buner districts on the behest of US,” he told a protest rally here. The participants holding party flags chanted anti-US, Israel, Indian and government slogans.

Provincial chief of JI Sirajul Haq, District ameer Dr Tariq Sherazi and naib ameer Younas Khattak also addressed the rally. Liaqat Bloch said that US was involved in the killing of Pakhtuns in the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying; “We will never allow US to continue its mission of killing innocent people in Pakistan.”...

There are no innocent muslims. They are all for the world domination by islam and sharia. If this only was a real plan to take away their nukes. That is all we need, Bin Ladin with working nukes.

Latest jihadi prison-break plot hatched in gym-turned-mosque

Let's see now, 70 convicted jihadis gathering together for "two-hour prayer meetings"... Surely there's nothing nefarious about that? Surely such time is spent discussing the finer points of Muslim theology?

Why are they coddling these convicted terrorists? Why do they have a right to have a meeting in a mosque? You know that the guards probably do not speak whatever language they speak. How can this be a bad idea?

A high-security prison has been put on alert after intelligence reports that a group of Muslim extremists were plotting to escape.The gym at HMP Wakefield, West Yorkshire, has been turned into a makeshift mosque so prison staff can keep a better eye on inmates after the chapel, usually used for group prayer, was deemed too 'high-risk'.

The room is now double-locked and patrolled by 12 officers with dogs while up to 70 Muslim inmates, including al-Qaeda operative Kamel Bourgass, gather for two-hour prayer meetings.Extra security precautions were first taken two weeks ago, after the prison governor was informed of an escape bid similar to one foiled at HMP Full Sutton, East Yorkshire, last month.

Nine inmates – including convicted terrorists – planned to escape by helicopter. Accomplices on the outside were to hire it for "business" then force the pilot to land in prison at gunpoint.

"The Governor is not taking any chances", a source at HMP Wakefield told the Daily Mirror.

"Inmates usually pray alone in cells but are allowed to come together for religious services once a week. Muslims meet an Imam and read the Koran as in the ordinary chapel, but the gym is bigger and more secure. "All eyes are on them during prayer time, more so now than ever."

Bourgass, 33, an Algerian, is serving a life sentence for murdering a policeman, Det Con Stephen Oake, during a raid at a house in Manchester. He also stabbed three other officers during the incident in 2003.

TRIPOLI, Libya, May 2 (APP): Pakistan and Libya on Saturday reiterated the need for resolving conflicts and disputes of region through peaceful means and reaffirmed their denunciation for efforts to link Islam and Muslims with terrorism. In a joint statement issued at the end of President Asif Ali Zardari’s three-day official visit to Libya, the two countries underscored the importance of respect for sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity of states, besides supporting the principles of non-intervention and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
