Spencer: The Hate Crimes Racket
When Jilani originally reported this incident, college officials acted quickly, locking down the campus for a thoroughgoing police search. Hundreds of students out of the 3,300-member student body held a rally protesting the “hate crime,” and campus police offered Muslim students free rides and escorts around campus.
But now the crisis is over: the culprit has been arrested and charged with a felony -- and turns out to have been…Safia Jilani. After investigating the incident all week, police announced Friday that no one had hit Jilani on the head at all, and charged her with filing a false police report -- a felony that could get her three years in prison.
This is how they work. They play the victims and everyone runs to their side and say look how bad. Then we find out, more often than not, that the claims are false.
Iran mulling pre-emptive strike against Israel
The official, Dr. Seyed G. Safavi, said recent threats by Israeli authorities strengthened this position, but that as of yet, a preemptive strike has not been integrated into Iranian policy.
Safavi said a small, experienced group of officials is lobbying for a preemptive strike against Israel. "The recent Israeli declarations and harsh rhetoric on a strike against Iran put ammunition in these individuals' hands," he said.
Regarding dialogue with the United States and the West, Safavi said Iran's decision would be influenced by the results of the U.S. presidential elections next month, as well as by the Iranian presidential elections in June and the economic situation in the Islamic Republic.

Two female Kuwaiti ministers risk "dismissal" for not wearing the veil
A parliamentary committee has decided that their attire, without the hijab, violates the constitution and the electoral law. The matter will now be submitted to a vote in parliament. The only two women in Kuwait's executive branch risk being driven out from the government. The parliamentary legal committee has decided that their presence violates the constitution and the law, because they do not wear the hijab, the Islamic veil. The committee's statement will now be submitted to voting by the fifty members of parliament.
The Kuwaiti parliament is dominated by conservatives, who had four of the seven seats on the committee. But three "liberals" also voted against the two women. "The committee unanimously decided that appointing the two ministers in the cabinet violated article 82 of the constitution and article one of the election law for failing to abide by Islamic regulations," says Ali al-Hajeri, spokesman for the legal and legislative committee.
The two women under accusation (shown in the photo at a parliamentary session) are education minister Nuriya al-Sebih and administrative development minister Mudhi al-Humoud. Appointed following the elections on May 17, the two women immediately met with negative reactions from conservatives. At its first session, on June 1, parliament approved submission of the matter to the committee, which has now decided. That same day, as cabinet members took the oath, nine parliamentarians left the hall in protest against the "un-Islamic" attire of the two women.
Iran: We busted a pigeon spy ring
Hot on the heels of last year's Spy Squirrel bust comes this victory for counter-espionage. "Iran arrests pigeons 'spying' on nuclear site."One of the pigeons was caught near a rose water production plant in the city of Kashan in Isfahan province, the Etemad Melli newspaper reported. It said that some metal rings and "invisible" strings were attached to the bird, suggesting that it might have been somehow communicating what it had seen with the equipment it was carrying.
"Early this month, a black pigeon was caught bearing a blue-coated metal ring, with invisible strings," a source told the newspaper.
The source gave no further description of the pigeons, nor what their fate might be.
Natanz is home to Iran's heavily-bunkered underground uranium enrichment plant, which is also not far from Kashan.
The activity at Iran's controversial uranium enrichment facility is the focus of Iran's five-year standoff with the West, which fears it aims to develop nuclear weapons. The Tehran government insists its programme is intended to generate power for civilian use only.
Last year, Iran issued a formal protest over the use of espionage by the United States to produce a key intelligence report on the country's controversial nuclear programme.
It is also highly suspicious of Israel, whose extensive intelligence activities are not known to include the use of pigeons.
Denmark: Two jihadists found guilty of preparing attack
Hammad Khuershid was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Abdoulghani Tokhi was sentenced to seven years by a court in the town of Glostrup, just outside the capital of Copenhagen. Both are in their early 20s.
The men were arrested after an anti-terror raid that saw Danish agents filming them as they were carrying out a test blast. The explosives were reportedly the same as those used in the 2005 London bombings that killed 52 people.
Both men claimed the explosives were going to be used for fireworks.
At the trial prosecutors alleged that Khuershid had ties to an Al-Qaeda operative but they were unsure whether the attack was going to take place in Denmark or abroad.
Investigators claimed to have found bomb-making manuals in the men's homes.
Tokhi has a residency permit to live legally in Denmark, but authorities said he would be deported after completing his sentence.
There have been several anti-terrorism raids, arrests of terrorism suspects and a terrorism trial in Denmark since 2005. That was the same year that the country attracted widespread condemnation from Muslims around the world after Danish daily Jyllands-Posten published cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed.
Denmark is also involved in the war in Afghanistan and maintains a small contingent of troops in Iraq.
Jordanian poet arrested on charges of "harming the Islamic faith"
The poet, Islam Samhan, published his collection of poems, "Grace like a Shadow," without the approval of the Jordanian government, and authorities say it insults the holy book, the official said.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Samhan was charged with harming the Islamic faith and violating the press and publication law for combining the sacred words of the Quran with sexual themes.
If convicted, the poet could face up to three years in jail.
Jordanian law bans the publication of any books or articles that could be seen as harmful to Islam and its Prophet Muhammad.
A book of love poems can harm Muhammad from beyond the grave?
More than two years ago, the court convicted the editors of two weekly newspapers of insulting Islam and sentenced them to two months in prison after they reprinted Danish newspaper caricatures of Muhammad.
Jordanian writers and artists urged the government in a collective petition to immediately release the poet, saying the arrest is a "retreat in the freedom of expression," and called for an end to the "oppression of freedom and intimidation practiced against intellectuals."

Fort Dix jihadist: "They are the ones, we are going to put bullets in their heads, Allah willing."
The suspects may have trained by playing paintball but the alleged plot to attack Fort Dix in New Jersey has been presented by the US government as one of the most serious examples of home-grown terrorism since the September 11 attacks.
The five men, all born outside the US but resident in the country, were charged in May 2007 with planning but not executing the attack on the base, which trains troops for deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.
At the start of their trial yesterday, prosecutors said the defendants were inspired by "jihad".
"Their motive was to defend Islam. Their inspiration was al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. Their intent was to kill members of the United States armed services," said William Fitzpatrick, prosecuting.
The government alleges that in 2006 and 2007 the men turned paintball games into terrorist training sessions and met at places like Dunkin' Donuts to discuss killing soldiers on the army installation in New Jersey.
The jury was told it would see jihadist videos that the defendants watched and would learn many details of the alleged plot, including claims that one of the men went on reconnaissance missions at Fort Dix and other military installations.
The men, all aged in their 20s, have denied terrorism charges. They include three Albanian-born brothers, illegal immigrants who ran a roofing business in New Jersey.
The others are a Jordanian-born taxi driver and a Turkish-born convenience store assistant.
Their lawyers are expected to question the role of two paid government informants who made hundreds of hours of secret recordings in the case.
Addressing such potential claims, Mr Fitzpatrick said the FBI had to find people who would have credibility with aspiring terrorists.
One of the informants was interested in citizenship and the other was interested in money, he said.
The court heard that conversations recorded by the FBI included one in which Mohamad Shnewer, the Jordanian-born defendant, referred to being tailed by a car.
Quoting Shnewer in the recording, Mr Fitzpatrick said: "They are the ones, we are going to put bullets in their heads, God willing."
A sixth man who admitted supplying firearms to the group was jailed for 20 months in March.
China's Islamic Crackdown has Begun
With prayers banned in public areas, private hajj trips not allowed, teaching of the Noble Qur'an not allowed in private and students and government officials forced to eat during Ramadan, China in enforcing laws and regulations restricting the practice of Islam.
In Khotan, signs posted in front of the grand mosque say the weekly Friday prayer sermon must not extend beyond than a half-hour.Prayers in public areas outside the mosque is forbidden and residents are banned from worshipping at mosques outside their town.Under the rules, imams are banned from teaching the Qur'an in private and only official versions of the Qur'an are allowed.Studying Arabic is only allowed at special government schools.Government workers are banned from showing the slightest sign of religious devotion. For example, a Muslim civil servant could be sacked for donning hijab. Many of the rules have been on the books for years, but local authorities have publicly highlighted them in recent weeks with banners hanged in towns. They began posting regulations mandating women not to wear hijab and men to shave their beards.
Students and government workers are compelled to eat during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
Signs painted on mud-brick walls in the winding alleyways of old Kashgar warn against making "illegal" hajj."Implement the policy of organized and planned pilgrimage; individual pilgrimage is forbidden," reads a red banner hanging on a large mosque in Urumqi, the regional capital of Xinjiang.
U.S. military: Terms like "jihad" and "Islamist" needed
"We must reject the notion that Islam and Arabic stand apart as bodies of knowledge that cannot be critiqued or discussed as elements of understanding our enemies in this conflict," said the internal report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times.
The report, "Freedom of Speech in Jihad Analysis: Debunking the Myth of Offensive Words," was written by unnamed civilian analysts and contractors for the U.S. Central Command, which is responsible for the Middle East and South Asia. It is thought to be the first official document to challenge those in the government who seek to downplay the role of Islam in inspiring some terrorist violence.
"The fact is our enemies cite the source of Islam as the foundation for their global jihad," the report said. "We are left with the responsibility of portraying our enemies in an honest and accurate fashion."
The report contributes to an ongoing debate within the U.S. government and military over the roots of terrorism, its relationship to Islam and how best to counter extremist ideology.
It cites two Bush administration documents that appear to minimize any link between radical Islam and terrorism.
A January 2008 memorandum from the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties stated that unidentified American Muslims recommended that the U.S. government avoid using the terms "jihadist," "Islamic terrorist," "Islamist" or "holy warrior," asserting that would create a "negative climate" and spawn acts of harassment and discrimination.
Dan Sutherland, Homeland Security officer for civil rights and civil liberties, said the document is not department policy.
"This was a compilation of recommendations and thoughts provided to us by some prominent American Muslim thinkers and never was intended to be Department of Homeland Security policy," he said in an interview.
"If a paper from another part of government says this doesn't make sense, that's a valid point. This memo is a thought piece meant to stir discussion."...

Muslim convert admits attempted suicide terror attack
Nicky Reilly, 22, who uses the Muslim name Mohamed Abdulaziz Rashid Saeed-Alim, pleaded guilty to launching the failed attack on a busy family restaurant at the Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter in May this year.Reilly researched how to make a bomb, acquired the components and made three devices using caustic soda, paraffin and aluminium foil, along with nails, which he had put in glass soft drink bottles.
But when he attempted to assemble one of the soft drink bottle bombs in the lavatory cubicle of the restaurant it exploded in his hands.
BOOOOOMMMMM!!!! TO BAD IT DID NOT TAKE OFF HIS HANDS LIKE CAPTAIN HOOK WHO ALSO LIVES IN BRITAIN.
Reilly appeared at the Old Bailey via a video link and pleaded guilty to attempted murder at the Giraffe restaurant.
He also admitted engaging in preparation for terrorism in that he researched targets and how to make bombs and prepared three of them in the restaurant.
Two charges under the Explosives Act were not put to him after Stuart Baker, prosecuting, told the court that they were alternatives to the more serious charges.
At 10.20am on May 22 Reilly boarded a double-decker Stagecoach bus at Bretonside bus station in his home town of Plymouth, arriving in Exeter shortly after 12 noon.
He took the assembled bombs to the lavatories of the Giraffe restaurant at the Princesshay shopping centre and at around 12.50pm tried to set them off in the main dining area.
He was injured in the attack, in which one device partially detonated, and spent four days in hospital.
When police searched the flat he shared with his mother and 10-year-old brother, they found a typed note which suggested he had planned a suicide attack.
Suicide is not allowed in islam, but being killed while killing infidels is a guarenteed way to get to paradise and your 72 virgins.
Reilly, of King Street, Plymouth, was arrested when he staggered outside after suffering serious facial injuries in the blast on May 22.
UK Muslims stage protest over being questioned at airports
MUSLIMS BLOW THEMSELVES UP TO KILL THE INFIDELS AND GOTO PARADISE. DING, DING, DING, DING YOU WIN.
A protest has been staged outside Strathclyde Police headquarters over alleged "harassment" of Muslim travellers at Glasgow Airport.
About 60 demonstrators claimed that Pakistani and Afghan passengers had been "interrogated" for up to three hours by officers from Special Branch.
They accused police of operating "discriminatory policies".
Strathclyde Police said it welcomed dialogue over the implementation of terrorism legislation.
President of the Scottish Afghan Society, Mohammad Asif, said Strathclyde Police had a duty to treat Muslim passengers like "human beings".
"Muslim community members have been singled out for questioning for no apparent reason other than being Afghan or Pakistani," he said.
"This treatment is unacceptable in a democracy and we are fed up with the discriminatory policies of Strathclyde Police Special Branch.
"We cannot bear the psychological torture anymore. The authorities treat us like terrorists, as well as putting pressure on Afghans to become informers and spies, but we are not going to be intimidated and pressurised."
The treatment is unacceptable? Well to damned bad. If muslims were not killing themselves and trying to take as many of us with them this would never be happening. Remember: Read koran, become terrorist. It is that simple. I for one say error on the side of caution.
Al-Takeyya
The Islamic principle of lying for the sake of Allah. Falsehoods told to prevent denigration of Islam, to protect oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned by the Qur'an, including lying under penalty of perjury in testimony before the United States Congress, lying or making distorted statements to the media such as claiming that Islam is a religion of peace, and deceiving fellow Muslims when the one lying has deemed them to be apostates. See the Islam Review article for documentation of this from the Qur'an and the Hadith. The practice of Al-Takeyya is commonly employed to declare a Hudna.

FBI admits that the murder of Amina and Sarah Said may have been an honor killing
For the first time, the FBI has admitted that the murders of Amina and Sarah Said by their father may have been an honor killing on American soil. What can we do to help make sure that there is never another such killing here?
But what do you think the odds are that any public figure will call upon Muslims in America to do anything like that? I would put them at, oh, about a billion to one.
Almost a year after two teenage girls were found dead — allegedly executed by their father — in the back seat of a taxicab in Texas, the FBI is saying for the first time that the case may have been an "honor killing."
Sarah Said, 17, and her sister Amina, 18, were killed on New Year's Day, but for nine months authorities deflected questions about whether their father — the prime suspect and the subject of a nationwide manhunt — may have targeted them because of a perceived slight upon his honor.
The girls' great-aunt, Gail Gartrell, says the girls' father killed them both because he felt they disgraced the family by dating non-Muslims and acting too Western, and she called the girls' murders an honor killing from the start.
But the FBI held off on calling it an honor killing until just recently, when it made Yaser Abdel Said the "featured fugitive" on its Web site.
"That's what I've been trying to tell everybody all along," Gartrell told FOXNews.com. "I would say that's a victory."
Here comes CAIR to worry about "stigmatizing" the Muslim community.
But some Muslims say that calling the case an honor killing goes too far.
"As far as we're concerned, until the motive is proven in a court of law, this is [just] a homicide," Mustafaa Carroll, the executive director of the Council of American-Islamic Relations in Dallas, told FOXNews.com.
He said he worries that terms like "honor killing" may stigmatize the Islamic community. “We (Muslims) don’t have the market on jealous husbands ... or domestic violence,” Carroll said.
The United Nations estimates that 5,000 women are killed worldwide every year in honor killings — mostly in the Middle East, where many countries still have laws that protect men who murder female relatives they believe have engaged in inappropriate activity. A U.N. report includes chilling examples of such cases.
“On the order of clerics, an 18-year-old woman was flogged to death in Batsail, Bangladesh, for "immoral behavior,” the report reads. “In Egypt, a father paraded his daughter's severed head through the streets shouting, ‘I avenged my honor.’”
But Islamic scripture in no way condones such actions, Carroll said.
"People have their own cultural nuances and norms from before they got their religion," he said. "This is not Islamic culture."

Primary school to serve pupils halal meat whether they're Muslim or not
No choice: Dale Primary want to serve halal meat alone to avoid 'contamination'All pupils at a primary school face being served halal meat at lunchtime whether they are Muslim or not, it emerged today.
Dale Primary, which has a large proportion of Asians among its 550 pupils, is consulting parents about the controversial move.
Under the plans pupils would only be offered Islamic-approved meals on days when meat is on the menu to 'avoid cross-contamination'.For meat to be classified halal, a Muslim must have slaughtered the animal from which it came by a single cut to the throat and without stunning it first.
A prayer, including the words 'Allah is great', is said while single cut to the throat all the blood is drained.
The school, Derby's biggest primary, provides its own catering after opting out of the city council system.
Head teacher Linda Sullivan has written to parents, carers and staff asking them if the school should offer halal meat to pupils.
Governors will consider the response before deciding whether to implement the plan.
A school spokeswoman said: 'The governors want to know if there is a strong demand as one or two parents have mentioned serving halal meat.
'The letter is asking for views and it's not a vote. If we were to change, it would probably be halal-only to avoid cross-contamination.
'The results of the survey will be going to the next governors' meeting for discussion.'
Local councillor Fareed Hussain, added: 'I think it is right that the governors should explore this but I think they need to listen to the responses carefully.
"If there are dissenting voices, I think they should consider giving a choice between halal meat or not because otherwise it will become a contentious issue.
'I know that places such as hospitals are able to offer either halal or non-halal dishes, so I can't see why the school couldn't accommodate that.'
Shabana Ayub, 30, a Muslim parent of two Dale Primary pupils, welcomed the idea of introducing halal meat but only if there were other menu options.
She said: 'I think it's a good idea because my children both like meat but they can't eat anything that's not halal.
'I think there needs to be other options because there are Hindu and Christian children who go to the school as well.'
Earlier this year parents hit out at Rose Hill Primary School in Oxford after it began serving halal meat without telling them.
Many of the complaints centred around the method of slaughter, which they claimed was cruel.
And last year parents staged protests outside a school over its decision to serve only halal meat at lunchtime.
Staff called the police after one father went into Kingsgate Primary in West Hampstead, north London, to challenge the new meals policy.
New Mexico-born Imam: Muslims should leave U.S., for "the punishment of Allah is hovering over America"
Brothers and Sisters this leads to the belief that the punishment of Allah is hovering over America. When? And how? Allah knows best.
So if you are one of those unfortunate folks who turned out to be living in the wrong place at the wrong time then it is advisable for you to leave. That is obviously if you take heed. Many don’t and are still living the utopia of the American dream. I am not talking about Mo and Mike who are still shaking to the tunes of MTV with their coke and big mac and are only Muslim by name, but I am talking about the practicing Muslims who sadly enough still think that the America of George W is the Abyssinia of the Negus.
Hijra [flight, emigration] for the sake of Allah will continue until the day of Judgment. If you leave with the intention of forsaking the people of sin and protecting your family from evil you would be rewarded abundantly. But not everyone has the capacity to make hijra just like there were some Muslims who could not make hijra from Makkah [Mecca] at the time of Rasulullah [Prophet of Allah, i.e., Muhammad]. So for those who cannot they should pray to Allah to make a way out for them and protect them from the people of transgression.
If you are a person whom Allah has bestowed wealth upon then you should avoid owning property in the US and you should diversify out of the dollar into gold and silver. Gold and silver have retained there value over history and there is no reason to think that they would not do the same in the future. In addition to this being the prudent thing to do from a financial point of view, it is also the recommended thing to do Islamicly. Muslims should not be supporting the economy of a nation that is fighting them.
Finally, for those who are contemplating purchasing a home in the US based on mortgage which is a clear form of Riba [usury] they should fear Allah. In addition to it being one of the most evil sins in Islam it is putting money in the wrong place. Allah says that He will destroy Riba. It is a promise from Allah. There is no blessing in anything based on it. What is happening in the US nowadays is a testimony to that....
Australia: Study finds most non-Muslims still unaware that Islam has its own set of rules
The findings emerged from a study commissioned by the federal government to develop better community-based integration programs.
The project focused on Muslims who have experienced racism since the 2005 Cronulla riots.
To determine social barriers, researchers interviewed a group of 10 Muslims who socialise predominantly with other Muslims. They also spoke to 10 non-Muslims from the Cronulla area who did not mix with Muslims.
Among the non-Muslims, it was not well-known that drinking alcohol is forbidden under Islam.
The concept of halal - denoting what is permissible under Islam - was also little understood.
Female Muslim interviewees said they could not understand how drinking by non-Muslims can be seen as responsible behaviour.
Their male counterparts said they would refuse invitations to events where alcohol was consumed to shield the women from it...

U.K.: Muslim prisoners get new clothes if cells are searched with dogs
"Muslim inmates get new clothes if dog sniffs cell."
Muslim prisoners are being given fresh clothes and bedding after sniffer dogs search their cells – because they view the animals as unclean.
The inmates say their bedclothes and prison uniforms must be changed according to Islamic law if they have come anywhere near dog saliva.
Government rules mean warders are having to hand out replacement sets after random drug searches to avoid religious discrimination claims.
The dogs have also been banned from touching copies of the Islamic holy book the Koran and other religious items.
Prisoners are handed special bags to protect the articles.
Now some staff and other prisoners are incensed by what they claim is special treatment.
A source at Dover prison said: “It seems ridiculous that staff have to go out of their way to treat these prisoners differently.
“Some of the other inmates are not happy that they have to make do with the same old bedding.”
John Midgley, co-founder of the Campaign Against Political Correctness, added: “If people think others are getting different treatment, they are bound to be upset. Perhaps the only fair way to do this is to allow everyone to have their bedding changed.”
Philip Davies, Tory MP for Shipley in Yorkshire, said: “Another way for people not to have their cells searched for drugs is not to commit crime in the first place. If you commit a crime and go to prison, there are certain things which you expect to happen.”
The jail policy emerged after an illegal immigrant awaiting deportation at Dover prison asked its bosses to clarify the rules on sniffer dog searches.
In reply to the letter in prisoners’ magazine Inside Time, the Ministry of Justice’s Rosemary Hanna wrote: “We are aware that if dog saliva comes in contact with the clothing or religious artefacts of a Muslim, it renders these items defiled. As such, a prisoner must be allowed to change clothing if this occurs.”
She added: “Dogs used to search cells should not be allowed to touch holy books and artefacts.
The prisoner should be allowed to identify and remove religious artefacts from their cell so that the supporting staff can search them by hand before the cell is searched. It is also good practice to issue prisoners with a clear plastic pouch to cover holy books and artefacts.
“Also, bedding should be changed where the prisoner feels that it has been defiled.”
A leading imam, Ibrahim Mogra, said the policy was “very sensitive and sensible”.
He said: “We would expect the religious requirements and needs of all our diverse religious communities to be accommodated.”
Just like Sharia law doesn't.
The row comes after some Muslims argued they should not be touched by sniffer dogs trained to spot terrorists at railway stations.
Last month it was revealed that the Association of Chief Police Officers proposed that police dogs wear bootees on their paws when searching Muslim suspects’ homes.
Islamic scholars denounce dancing, say it violates sharia
Salsa festival in Morocco stirs controversy. "Islamic scholars say dance violates sharia," by Hassan al-Ashraffor Al-Arabiya.Marrakesh will host its first international salsa festival amid controversy as officials and religious leaders expressed dismay over the city’s hosting of a festival devoted to the sexy Latin dance.
The festival, which runs Oct. 8-12, features 100 dancers from Cuba, Mexico, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, Milan, including Francisco Vasquez and Alex da Silva, choreographers for Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. The contestants will also give salsa classes to students of Moroccan universities.
But some locals voiced objections that the dance is un-Islamic and violates local social norms.
One Islamic scholar said the salsa festival violates sharia Islamic law. Mohamed Al-Taweel, pprofessor of jurisprudence at the University of al-Karaouine said that the festival is sinful for a number if reasons, no the least of which is the mingling between men and women.
Moroccan sheikh Abdul-Bari al-Zamzami, a member of the Moroccan Scholars Association, told AlArabiya.net that the festival promotes vice among the youth, who are easily deceived by such Western activities.
Other officials disagreed, however, noting that the festival promotes intercultural understanding and artistic expression.
"I do not think that the salsa festival has a negative impact on Morocco,” Nabil Benabdallah, a former minister of communication, told AlArabiya.net.
But Islamic preacher Mohamed al-Amrawi argued that activities which violate decency and promote vice among youth are prohibited by law.
"Moroccan youth should be trained in different scientific and creative fields,” he told AlArabiya.net
Besides promoting vice, Taweel said he also thinks the festival is an unnecessary waste of money, thrown away just to give the West the impression that Morocco is a liberal, accommodating country.

On Faith, Science and the E-Coli Bacteria in Infant Urine
Following are excerpts from a program featuring Dr. Ahmad Al-Muzain, a Palestinian expert on Koranic science, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on September 3, 2008:
Dr. Ahmad Al-Muzain: The Prophet Muhammad said that there is no need to wash off the urine of the male infant. Only the urine of the female infant should be washed. In the case of the urine of the male infant, it is enough to sprinkle water lightly over it. From this, the religious scholars have concluded that the urine of the male is less impure than the urine of the female. This gives rise to many questions: Why is there a distinction between the urine of the male and the female? What is the wisdom in this? Is this, as some Orientalists claim, discrimination against the female, even in infancy? God forbid that this is true.
In order to prove the wisdom behind this, scientists from an Iraqi university have conducted a unique experiment. Of course, this experiment was supervised by a professor from the International Commission on Scientific Signs in the Quran and the Sunna.
This experiment proved that a type of bacteria known as E. coli - and you can see a picture of this bacteria behind me... We found this type of bacteria in the urine culture of both male and female infants. What was strange, however, was that the urine of the male infant contained much fewer bacteria than that of the female.
This proves unequivocally that this is the true religion, and that this knowledge was conveyed to the Prophet by Allah.
I really love the muslim world. They are very entertaining.
