According to her, the new substance 'is known as the American hum, which is an Iranian-manufactured glue that if applied to the skin, sticks to it and can only be removed by surgery. After they glue the anuses of homosexuals, they give them a drink that causes diarrhea. Since the anus is closed, the diarrhea causes death. Videos of this form of torture are being distributed on mobile cellphones in Iraq.' According to this human rights activist, for the past 3 weeks a crackdown on homosexuals has been going on based on a religious decree that demands their death; dozens have been targeted. She says that the persecution of homosexuals is not confined to the Shiite clerics. Some Sunni leaders have also declared the death penalty for sodomy on satellite channels."

Obama refuses to meet with Netanyahu

He bowed to the Saudi King. He wants to meet with the Thug-In-Chief. He called Hugo Chavez "my friend." But Barack Obama has apparently refused to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday canceled his plans to attend the upcoming AIPAC summit, after it became clear that US President Barack Obama would not meet him during the conference.

Netanyahu announced that while he will not attend the conference in person, he will send a video-taped message to Washington....

I hate Obama. He is clearly a muslim. He will meet with the terrorists in Iran, Gaza and other places, but not Netanyahu.

Al Qaeda Calls for attack on Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) While the eyes of the world are focused on the Durban II racism conference in Geneva, the international al-Qaeda terrorist organization issued a new call for an attack on Israel.

The deputy al-Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, urged the group's Iraqi followers to sneak the borders and "liberate" Jerusalem in a new recording posted on the As-Sahab terrorist internet website on Monday.

Osama bin Laden's deputy also slammed Egypt for brokering talks between the Palestinian Authority's Hamas terrorist organization and its rival Fatah faction.

The talks are aimed at bringing the two groups together in hopes of rebuilding a PA unity government – a goal which has proven elusive thus far.

The Egyptian-born terrorist insisted in Monday's harangue, however, that the negotiations were actually intended to pressure Hamas into recognizing the State of Israel, which he warned the group not to do. He also called on PA Arabs to attack Israelis and their allies outside the country.

"If circumstances were difficult in one place they are easier in other places," he proclaimed. "Our enemies, crusaders and Jews are scattered everywhere."...

I love to hear these muslims use the term crusaders. I think what is needed is a modern day Crusades.

Man kills sister, niece, for "honor"

In Pakistan. "The accused, who had presented himself before the police after committing the crime, told the police that he had admonished the victims repeatedly but they turned a deaf ear to his advice." Evidently he thinks this sort of thing is exculpatory, the way Islamic jihadists start talking about the terrible provocations to which they have been subjected, and grievances they have, whenever anyone says something about, say, 9/11.

A MAN shot dead his sister and niece on suspicion in the Green Town police limits on Monday. Police said accused Zulfiqar Khokhar, a resident of 705-D-I, Green Town, suspected that his sister Shahnaz, 35, and his brother’s daughter Farah, 18, had developed illicit relationships with some locals. The accused, who had presented himself before the police after committing the crime, told the police that he had admonished the victims repeatedly but they turned a deaf ear to his advice. On Monday, the accused exchanged harsh words with the victims, which infuriated him and he opened fire at the women with a pump-action shotgun, killing them on the spot. Later, he presented himself before Green Town police and confessed the crime.

Police collected evidence from the crime scene and shifted the bodies to morgue. A case has also been registered against the accused on the complaint of his brother Jafar Khokhar, the father of victim Farah.

Talking to this correspondent, SP Sadr division Mansoorul Haq Rana said Zulfiqar had killed his sister and niece on suspicion. On Monday, the victims scolded the accused for admonishing them at this the accused killed the two women, the SP said. The assault weapon had been recovered, he added....

Islam-critic receives death threats, cancels speaking engagements

Considering that he's not just another critic of Islam, but an ex-Muslim, an apostate, who, according to sharia, must be put to death, this, of course, is only to be expected. But that he taught at Sunni Islam's most prestigious school and was an imam only to turn around and criticize Islam, also gives him that much more authority (and his foes that much more reason to want to slay him).

Mark A. Gabriel, ex-Muslim and Islam-critic has gotten death threats and must cancel speaking appointments in the Netherlands.

The American terrorism fighting unit, the FBI, advised Gabriel to drop all public appearances in the Europe due to these death threats. He was escorted to the Schiphol airport by his contact person in the Netherlands, Jewish-Christian pastor Ben Kok. Gabriel had planned to be in the Netherlands till April 25.

Gabriel (51), his pseudonym for years, grew up as a Muslim in Egypt. He was a teacher at Al-Azhar University and an imam as well, but was disappointed with Islam, in particular due to its violent character. When he crossed over to Christianity, he had to flee. He now has asylum in the US.

We should have given asylum to Ayan Hirsi Ali.

Obama hides $200 million for Hamas in 'supplemental' Iraq and Afghanistan appropriation

I wonder if this is something else he promised when he bowed to King Abdullah at the G-20 in London.

President Obama has hidden a supplemental $200 million for the 'Palestinian Authority' in a 'supplemental budget' for American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. By putting the money there, it is less likely to be subject to congressional scrutiny. Given that Obama originally wanted to give the PA $800 million, I suppose we shouldn't complain too much.

Given that (a) in the past, money given to Fatah has been used to pay Hamas salaries, (b) money was last transferred to Gaza for that purpose in February, which means that the quarterly salaries are due, (c) at least 40% of the 'Palestinian Authority's 'budget' is spent in Gaza, and (d) the Netanyahu government is a lot less likely than its predecessor to transfer cash to Gaza, my guess is that a major chunk of this money is going to Gaza for 'salaries.

'But Omri at Mere Rhetoric has lots of interesting speculation about other ways the 'Palestinian Authority' may spend the money, along with some ways in which the American budgetary process is being used to hurt Israel, and you should definitely read the whole thing (Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit).

UK schools may close for Ramadan

Eurabia Alert. It makes sense, really: if more than 40 percent of the students are going to be absent anyway, why keep the school open? One may legitimately wonder, however, how sanguine that 40 percent will be about non-Muslim holidays once they take power -- since Muslim leaders have more than once expressed their distaste for non-Muslim observances.

Some schools in Britain could soon be allowed to close for non-Christian religious festivals, it has emerged.

The move comes as figures reveal a big increase in absences from city classrooms for 'religious observance'.

Under new council guidelines currently being drawn up, schools in Manchester where more than 40 per cent may be absent for a religious festival could decide to close.

Parents are legally entitled to take their children out of school for non-Christian religious festivals, such as Ramadan.

But because academic holidays are largely based on the Christian calendar, they can't do it without missing lessons.

Now headteachers could soon be timing teacher training days to coincide with holy dates such as Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Yom Kippur and Diwali.

Schools must still be open for the legally-required 190 days a year so that no pupil misses out on teaching time.

Meanwhile, the traditional school calendar, with Easter and Christmas holidays, stays the same.

The changes are most likely to affect schools in areas such as Longsight and Cheetham Hill that have a large percentage of Muslim pupils....

Church invites Obama's Muslim grandmother to Christianity; she declines and Muslims are up in arms

Projecting Islam's ways onto Christianity, Muslims insist the church is trying to convert Obama's grandmother "against her will... condemning the move as provocation."

NAIROBI: A Protestant church in Kenya is trying to convert US President Barack Obama's step-grandmother to Christianity against her will, a Muslim group said Monday, condemning the move as provocation.

The Seventh Day Adventist church in the western town of Kisumu had invited 87-year-old Sarah Obama -- a Muslim -- to a function on Saturday, where she was allegedly to be baptised.

According to relatives in her village of Kogelo, "Mama Sarah", as she is popularly known in the US president's paternal homeland, was surprised by the offer and declined to attend.

"I regret the attempt by the Christian religion to force her to convert," Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa, the organising secretary of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, told AFP.

"Why only her? Why not before Obama became president? Didn't they see her before he became president? We are ready to protect our religion," he said.

Said Obama, a step-brother to the US president, said the church pastors had approached Sarah Obama with news that she could become a Christian.

"Mama (Sarah) was born a Muslim and wishes to die a Muslim. The issue of conversion is neither here not [sic] there," he said.

Khalifa denounced the move as a "provocation."

"They don't have permission from Jesus to convert someone. I challenge them to quote a verse from the Bible allowing them to convert someone," he said.

Sarah became a national celebrity when her grandson visited the country in 2006 and her modest homestead has become a tourist attraction since the former Illinois senator's November 2008 election triumph.

The Kenyan government last month declared Kogelo a protected national heritage site.

I truly believe that Obama is really a muslim. He is trying hard to destroy the US financially.

Note that underneath the bluster of the claim in the press release's headline (below) is the Islamic dogma that everyone is born a Muslim. By such means Muslims can claim anyone's accomplishments. But the assertion that the abolition of slavery is in the Qur'an is false. The Qur'an takes slavery for granted, and it is no accident that there has never been a Muslim Wilberforce or Garrison.

Nor does the Qur'an teach equality of any kind between the Muslims, "the best of people" (3:110) and the unbelievers, "the most vile of created beings" (98:6).

Swat Valley invites Osama bin Laden and offers to "help" and "protect" him

MINGORA, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistan was trying to end bloodshed when it let the idyllic Swat Valley fall under Islamic law last week. Instead, it has emboldened the Taliban to extend a hand to militants, including Osama bin Laden.Imagine that!

The local spokesman for the Taliban, which control the valley, told The Associated Press he'd welcome militants bent on battling U.S. troops and their Arab allies if they want to settle there.

"Osama can come here. Sure, like a brother they can stay anywhere they want," Muslim Khan said in a two-hour interview Friday, his first with a foreign journalist since Islamic law was imposed. "Yes, we will help them and protect them."

Khan spoke in halting English he learned during four years painting houses in the U.S. before returning to Swat in 2002. He averted his eyes as he spoke to a female journalist, in line with his strict understanding of Islam.

Pakistan reacted with alarm to his comments, saying it would never let him shelter the likes of bin Laden.Of course; one is not supposed to say such things, at least not publicly, definitely not when being interviewed by a Western kafira.

"We would have to go for the military operation. We would have to apply force again," said Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira. "We simply condemn this. We are fighting this war against al-Qaida and the Taliban."

But it is far from clear that the government has the means to do much of anything in the Swat Valley. It agreed to Islamic law in the region — drawing international condemnation — after trying and failing to defeat the Taliban in fighting marked by brutal beheadings that killed more than 850 people over two years.

"We lost the war. We negotiated from a position of weakness," said Afrasiab Khattak, a leader of the Awami National Party, which governs the province that includes Swat...

I forsee Bin Laden with nukes in the very near future. Put one in a container with a couple suicide bombers and there will be a huge mushroom cloud in some port. I just hope it is San Francisco.

Islamic cleric defends law sanctioning marital rape

He is said to be the man behind the controversial Shia state law, a law critics say strips Afghan Shia women of many rights.[...]

"The law ... which I created I see as correct for both men and women," he said. "We have given rights to both men and women, even better than rights given to women in the West. We give women more in this law."

I asked him about reports that if a women does not comply in having sexual relations with her husband, then the husband can refuse to feed her. "Yes, I said that," Mohseni said looking me in the eye. "When a couple marries, sex is a part of marriage, and they agree to that."

Can she refuse to feed him? Uh, no.

He went on to explain that a woman isn't obliged to have sexual relations every single night or if she is told by her doctor to refrain. But otherwise it is her obligation and something she signed up for when she got married. He calls it the wife's duty.

Mohseni added that a wife wearing makeup "prevents a man from thinking about other women on the streets and he can just think of his wife."

He continued: "It is natural that women (wear makeup). Don't they in the West? Their women wear it on the streets and in shops. Women should put make-up on for their husbands as it will increase the love and attraction between the two."

The cleric also explained that a woman is not required to ask the permission of a man to leave the house if she has a job and needs to go to work. But they do need to get permission if they are leaving for other reasons.

More importantly, he said, a couple needs to make clear the day they marry whether or not she will need permission to leave the home. If they disagree then they should not get married.

"Like you are working for CNN," he said. "If your boss tells you you'll be working for 8 hours a day then you're responsible for that. It's the same here; they both have to agree on it."

According to Mohseni, the West is imposing its beliefs on the Muslim world because they don't understand.

It is certainly true that the West doesn't understand the Muslim world.

However, it's not just people in the West who are opposed to this law; many Afghans, men and women, have vehemently resisted it. They fear it will set women back after the progress that has been made in the last seven years.

Sima Samar, head of Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission, has been working for a year now, trying to amend certain articles within the law.

"I feel discriminated. Clear-cut. I don't feel equal in this country," she told us.

Samar said the law does not represent Islam. It blatantly contradicts the constitution of Afghanistan, which states that men and women are equal.

We saw how much provisions of the Afghan Constitution that contradicted Sharia were worth when the government put Abdul Rahman on trial for apostasy, despite the fact that the Constitution contains language about religious freedom.

Critics have labeled the law as "Talibanistic" but Samar says even many of the Taliban's actions were not enshrined in law.

She admitted that a law for Shias is necessary but that it should be what is stated in Sharia or Islamic Law. "One of the very important pillars in Islam is justice, there is no justice in this law," she said.

Well, that all depends on what one thinks is the font of justice, no?

U.S. to boycott Durban II, Congressional Black Caucus "deeply dismayed"

Anything that pledges to combat "racism" can't be bad, right? Because everyone's use of the term and agenda for using it involves exactly the same, altruistic aims for equal rights, right?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The United States is boycotting a U.N. conference on racism next week over a document that "singles out" Israel in its criticism and conflicts with the nation's "commitment to unfettered free speech," the U.S. State Department said Saturday.

The Obama administration made the decision not to attend the Durban Review Conference in Geneva "with regret," a State Department statement said.

Two months ago, the administration had warned that it would boycott the conference if changes were not made to the document to be adopted by the conference. In recent weeks, discussions over the document have fueled several revisions, but the changes to the language didn't meet U.S. expectations, the statement said.

The current draft is "significantly improved," but "it now seems certain these remaining concerns will not be addressed in the document to be adopted by the conference next week."

State Department officials say the document contains language that reaffirms the Durban Declaration and Programme of Actions from the 2001 conference in Durban, South Africa, which the United States has said it won't support. The 2001 document "prejudges key issues that can only be resolved in negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians," the statement said.

Australia also said it would boycott the conference. Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said the 2001 document unfairly "singled out" Israel.

""Regrettably, we cannot be confident that the Review Conference will not again be used as a platform to air offensive views, including anti-Semitic views," he said. [...]

Meanwhile, the Congressional Black Caucus said it was "deeply dismayed" by the decision made by the nation's first African-African president, saying it was inconsistent with administration policies.

"Had the United States sent a high-level delegation reflecting the richness and diversity of our country, it would have sent a powerful message to the world that we're ready to lead by example," the statement said. "Instead, the administration opted to boycott the conference, a decision that does not advance the cause of combating racism and intolerance, but rather sets the cause back."

Again, they are projecting the Western definitions and experiences of "racism and intolerance" as the universal understanding and usage of the terms. To broaden their view, they might ask the Arab League how it has regarded the "richness and diversity" of Darfur while crying "racism and intolerance" over the Danish cartoons of Muhammad.

The Congressional Black Caucus is itself a racist group. Why should there be a black only entitiy in the government?

Al-Qaeda to Somalis: "Increase your strikes against the crusaders at sea"

Terrorist organisation trying to exploit anti-Western sentiment among well-armed youth with access to boats and maritime skills

LAHORE: A Saudi Al Qaeda operative has called on Somali comrades to step up their attacks on ‘crusaders’ in the Gulf of Aden, and in Djibouti.

“To our steadfast brethren in Somalia, take caution and prepare yourselves,” Sa’id Ali Jabir Al Khathim Al Shihri says in an audiotape acquired by CBS News. “Increase your strikes against the crusaders at sea and in Djibouti.”

It was the first clear sign that Al Qaeda was trying to take advantage of anti-Western sentiment, and a ready supply of well-armed young men in Somalia with access to boats and maritime skills.
A maritime intelligence source told a CBS correspondent that interaction between pirate groups and Somalia’s Al Qaeda-linked groups was first noticed about nine months ago.

The source said it was now ‘inconceivable’ that Al Qaeda would not benefit financially from the successful pirate hijackings.

Following the rescue of the Maersk Alabama by the US Navy, during which three pirates were killed and another captured, there were threats against any American crew members found in future hijackings.

Shihri, captured near Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan in December of 2001, was among the first detainees held at the Guantanamo Bay. After being held without charge for almost six years, he was released to Saudi authorities and enrolled in a rehabilitation programme there.

Following his release, he went to Yemen and was subsequently described as a deputy leader in an Al Qaeda press release.

Islamic supremacist leader: "There is no room for democracy in Islam"

MINGORA: While addressing a large rally here on Sunday, Chief of the Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat, Maulana Sufi Mohammed said that the movement for the implementation of Sharia began in 1994.

‘The fifteen year struggle of the TNSM for the implementation of Sharia in Malakand is now bearing results,’ the Chief of the Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat said.

He said the democratic system is an un-Islamic one and the judicial system of Pakistan should be according to the Sharia.

‘Now any appeal against the Qazi courts’ decisions can be made only through the Darul Qaza,’ he added. ‘There is no room for democracy in Islam.’

In line with these statements, Sufi has demanded the abolition of all judges in Malakand, giving April 23 as a deadline for the establishment of Darul Qaza....

After that it will be jihad.

Obama Administration drawing up contingency plans to punish Israel if it attacks Iran?

Having taken military action against Iran off the table, the Obama administration is considering ways of punishing Israel if it attacks Iran to end its nuclear arms program (and prevent a second Holocaust).

In other words, having failed to contain Iran, the United States is concentrating on restraining Israel.

Administration contingency plans include condemnation of Israel, support for a United Nations Security Council resolution that could include sanctions on Israel, and suspending or seriously cutting military aid to the Jewish State.

One of President Obama's closest foreign policy advisers, National Security Council member Samantha Power, is a proponent of ending military aid to Israel in order to force it to negotiate with Iran's Palestinian Islamist proxy, Hamas, and withdraw from all lands taken during the Six-Day War of June 1967. Power also advocates shifting aid to a Palestinian state. Overall, she views Israel as a liability and a historic mistake, in line with the European left position (and that of old-line, right-of-center, American isolationists and anti-Semites). Her antidemocratic admirers in the Democratic Party's (Hillary-hating) left wing agree and are eager for an opportunity to paint Israel as a Jewish North Korea (although they actually have more sympathy for North Korea than for Israel).

The big question is how the Obama administration would react if Iran retaliated against Israel indirectly as well as directly--by making good on its repeated threats to attack U.S. forces in the Middle East and shut down the strategic, 29 mile-wide Strait of Hormuz, through which an estimated 20% of the world's crude oil is transported by tanker ships. Would the U.S. fight back with real ferocity or respond in a limited way while blaming Israel for preemptively attacking Iran and appealing to "the Muslim world" for "understanding?"

One wonders how the Apologizer-in-Chief would react.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, whom Tony Blair promised to ban, calls for jihad and elimination of Israel at London rally

Hizb ut-Tahrir is banned in numerous countries -- even by the prolific exporters of jihad in Saudi Arabia -- but legal in Australia and the U.K. Now, according to a spokesman for Britain's Home Office, "the group's status was being reassessed in light of the latest remarks but said that the decision to proscribe an organisation must be 'proportionate'."

Dr Imran Waheed, told followers of Hizb ut-Tahrir that there could be "no peace" with Israel and urged them to "fight in the way of Allah".

A leaflet distributed by the international wing of the organisation also called for Muslim countries to "eliminate the state of the Jews".

The remarks increased pressure on Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, to ban Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Patrick Mercer, the Tory chairman of the Commons Counter-Terrorism Subcommittee, said Dr Waheed's comments appeared to represent "incitement to violence" and accused the Government of performing a U-turn on an earlier commitment to ban it.

Speaking in Downing Street in August 2005, just a month after the London bombings, Mr Blair announced a wider crackdown on extremism, adding: "We will proscribe Hizb ut-Tahrir and the successor organisation of Al Mujahiroun."

The group, advocates the setting up of an Islamic "caliphate" or nation and describes itself as "unashamedly anti-Israel".

But it insists that it is exclusively non-violent and denies accusations of anti-Semitism.

Critics say that the group, which has thrived on university campuses, is a gateway to more extremist groups, something which it also vehemently denies.

Addressing a rally at Marble Arch in January following the Israeli military action in Gaza, Dr Waheed – the group's media adviser in Britain who was banned from entering Indonesia in 2007 – said that there was "no need for conferences, no need for treaties, no need for negotiations".

In the speech, highlighted by the think tank the Centre for Social Cohesion, he added: "There will be no peace and no negotiations with the illegitimate entity of Israel."

He went on: "There is only one solution to the occupation of Muslim lands, one solution to the cries of the widows and the orphans, one solution to avenge the death of the elderly and the children ... fight in the way of Allah those who fight you. Al-Jihad."

A leaflet available on the group's international website, dated Jan 19 2009, criticises the governments of Muslim countries which have attended peace summits as "shameful".

"Instead, it was their duty to eliminate the state of Jews that has usurped Palestine," it added.

A spokesman for the Home Office said that the group's status was being reassessed in light of the latest remarks but said that the decision to proscribe an organisation must be "proportionate"....

And yet the UK still allows people like this into their country.

Irony: Islamic scholars will meet to discuss religious tolerance under sharia in Mecca, where non-Muslims cannot enter

Mecca (AsiaNews) - Religious tolerance under Sharia and freedom of expression will be two of the central themes of the 19th meeting of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), which will see the presence of experts and scholars of Islamic law from about 60 countries, and will be held at the end of April in Mecca.

At the discussion, in addition to the 200 scholars, there will be many written contributions from various parts of the world, including countries in which Muslims are not the majority, but a significant minority.

At the meeting of the IIFA, which is a branch of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the scholars will also be joined by Islamic affairs ministers from various countries. In its coverage of the news, the Saudi newspaper Arab News reports a statement from the secretary general of the IIFA, Abdul Salam Al-Ebady, who says that, together with the topics of religious tolerance and freedom of expression, there will be discussions of "wide-ranging topics, such as Islamic finance, banking, domestic abuse, health and medicine and environmental protection." He stresses that this is an international event that sees the participation of the largest number of scholars, for the purpose of confronting the problems of the modern world in the light of Islamic law.

Some topics, like diabetes and fasting, are exclusive to the Muslim world, but others, like domestic abuse, or like religious tolerance and freedom of expression, do not involve only people of different religious convictions, but have also been and are causes of criticism and dispute toward Islamic countries on the part of international organizations and human rights groups, in addition to non-Muslim countries.

WASHINGTON — A growing number of U.S. intelligence, defense and diplomatic officials have concluded that there's little hope of preventing nuclear-armed Pakistan from disintegrating into fiefdoms controlled by Islamist warlords and terrorists, posing a greater threat to the U.S. than Afghanistan's terrorist haven did before 9/11.

"It's a disaster in the making on the scale of the Iranian revolution," said a U.S. intelligence official with long experience in Pakistan who requested anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly.

Pakistan's fragmentation into warlord-run fiefdoms that host al Qaida and other terrorist groups would have grave implications for the security of its nuclear arsenal; for the U.S.-led effort to pacify Afghanistan; and for the security of India, the nearby oil-rich Persian Gulf and Central Asia, the U.S. and its allies.

"Pakistan has 173 million people and 100 nuclear weapons, an army which is bigger than the American army, and the headquarters of al Qaida sitting in two-thirds of the country which the government does not control," said David Kilcullen, a retired Australian army officer, a former State Department adviser and a counterinsurgency consultant to the Obama administration.

"Pakistan isn't Afghanistan, a backward, isolated, landlocked place that outsiders get interested in about once a century," agreed the U.S. intelligence official. "It's a developed state . . . (with) a major Indian Ocean port and ties to the outside world, especially the (Persian) Gulf, that Afghanistan and the Taliban never had."

"The implications of this are disastrous for the U.S.," he added. "The supply lines (from Karachi to U.S. bases) in Kandahar and Kabul from the south and east will be cut, or at least they'll be less secure, and probably sooner rather than later, and that will jeopardize the mission in Afghanistan, especially now that it's getting bigger."

The experts McClatchy interviewed said their views aren't a worst case scenario but a realistic expectation based on the militants' gains and the failure of Pakistan's civilian and military leadership to respond.

"The place is beyond redemption," said a Pentagon adviser who asked not to be further identified so he could speak freely. "I don't see any plausible scenario under which the present government or its most likely successor will mobilize the economic, political and security resources to push back this rising tide of violence.

"I think Pakistan is moving toward a situation where the extremists control virtually all of the countryside and the government controls only the urban centers," he continued. "If you look out 10 years, I think the government will be overrun by Islamic militants."...

For three days in November 2008, all eyes were transfixed on the Jihadist bloodbath in Mumbai. These scenes of the burning Taj Mahal Hotel were on live feed to cable and satellite networks around the world. Many Westerners had heard of the rivalry between India and Pakistan, and may have been aware of the tensions centering on the disputed territory of Kashmir, but the sheer brutality and brazenness of the Mumbai Massacre brought the Jihad in India to global consciousness as never before. Unfortunately for India, the Mumbai attacks were only unique in terms of the high-profile media coverage accorded to them. The casualty figures, while appalling, were rather standard in the context of the series of Islamic terror attacks in India in the 21st century. And they are dwarfed by the massacres of tens and hundreds of thousands, sometimes in a single day, that pepper the 1300 year history of Islamic conquest on the Indian subcontinent.

Before the Islamic juggernaut burst in from the west, the native religions of these lands were Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. The Jihad against India was extraordinarily brutal even by Islamic standards. This is because unlike the so-called people of the book, Christians and Jews, who enjoyed some basic rights as subjected Dhimmis… Hindus and Buddhists were considered idolaters; the lowest of the low, worthy only of death.

Only 25 years after Muhammad’s death Islamic forces had crushed the Sassanid Persian Empire, and thus brought the spearhead of Islam to the borderlands of India. The first permanent Muslim foothold on the subcontinent was achieved with Muhammad bin Qasim's conquest of Sindh in 711 A.D. He demolished temples, shattered sculptures, plundered palaces, killed all able-bodied men and carried their women and children into slavery. For example, it took his army three days to slaughter all the inhabitants of the port city of Debal. But the Arab Muslim conquest would stall here in the northwestern frontier.
