Al-Qaeda to Yemen: "The time for the rule of Islam has come so that you could bask in the justice and tolerance it brings"

DUBAI, May 13 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda called on Wednesday for Islamic rule in Yemen and vowed to retaliate for what it said was the killing of civilians in clashes between police and locals in the south, where secessionist sentiment is strong.

The country in the Arabian Peninsula is trying to shake off an image of violence and lawlessness to promote tourism and foreign investment. It is battling al Qaeda, separatist calls in the south and Shi'ite rebels in the north.

"The time for the rule of Islam has come so that you could bask in the justice and tolerance it brings," Abu Basir Nasser al-Wahayshi, the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, said in a recording posted on an Islamist website on Wednesday. "The injustice that befell you, God willing, will not pass without punishment. The killing of Muslims in the streets is a great crime that has no justification."[...]

President Ali Abdullah Saleh called on Yemenis earlier this month to hold a dialogue to maintain national unity following a a week of clashes in the south between the police and locals.

"As far as we are concerned, Ali Abdullah Saleh is an infidel and an agent ... and today he is using all forms of oppression with the pretext of preserving unity," said Wahayshi.

Saleh, who took power in the former North Yemen in 1978 and has been president since union with the south in 1990, has backed U.S. moves to crack down on al Qaeda after the September 11, 2001 attacks on U.S. cities...

Jihadists may have plotted terror attack from prison

Here is yet another example of prison being used as a laboratory for jihad.

ABC identifies the two men as French citizens, although it does note of Gendron that he is a convert to Islam. In not identifying them outright as Muslims, ABC is of course following standard journalistic practice, which proceeds on the assumption that jihad terror attacks are condemned by authoritative and mainstream Islam, and are a twisting and hijacking of the Islamic faith. It would be offensive to peaceful Muslims to identify these men as Muslims, we're told, despite the fact that they hatched this plot because of their understanding of Islamic texts and teachings.

Italian authorities on Tuesday delivered arrest warrants for international terrorism to two French citizens suspected of being important Al Qaeda representatives in Europe.

Dubbed the Sheik and the Engineer by the Italian press, the two men - Bassam Ayachi, 63, a Syrian-born with French citizen, and Marcel Gendron, 34, a French engineer converted to Islam - were already being held in prison in Bari, Italy on charges of organizing illegal immigration.
Investigators placed microphones inside the prison cell they shared.

According to the Italian paper La Repubblica, apparently aware that someone might try to listen, the men spoke in low voices and interrupted phrases and would turn up the volume of the TV in their cell at crucial times. Nonetheless a pool of 14 translators helped decipher the taped conversations in Arabic and French, which investigators say show the men were actively planning terrorist attacks in Europe -- with talk of "a ton of grenades" and a plane attack on Charles De Gaulle airport.

Particularly significant passages, according to Bari prosecutors' arrest warrant, obtained by Italian media:

Investigators believe that these conversations and many others show the two men were actively planning future attacks....

We need to just kill all muslims. They are going to take over the world. That is their stated goal. Why will no one listen. And why do they have to kill all of us? Because it says to do that in their book, the koran, the terrorist training manual.

Somalia president signs Islamic sharia bill into law

MOGADISHU, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed on Wednesday signed into law a parliament-passed bill introducing the Islamic Sharia law in Somalia as eight people were killed and fifteen others were wounded in fresh fighting that erupted in Mogadishu between government forces and Islamist fighters.

President Ahmed said since Somalia has an Islamic law he sees no reason for the continuation of hostilities in the country where nearly a week of clashes raged between the government forces and allied Islamist fighters from the hardline Al-Shabaab movement and Hezul Islam faction.

The Somali parliament unanimously endorsed the implementation of the Islamic Sharia law in the war-torn country last month.[...]

Meanwhile, the secluded spiritual leader of Al-Shabaab, Sheikh Muqtar Abderrahman Abu Zuhayr, said the fighting in Mogadishu is between "Good and Evil" and urged local people to support his fighters.

Abu Zuhayr, who has never been seen in public and whose whereabouts is unknown, released an 11-minute audio tape to local radio stations in Mogadishu.

"There is no neutrality in this war. Mogadishu residents should support the Mujahedeens because you cannot be neutral when the fight is between Good and Evil," said Abu Zuhayr.

Abu Zuhayr, who is wanted by the U.S. for terrorism, warned local media to be "neutral and not to mislead people", saying if the media cannot tell the truth, it should stop "twisting the truth and misleading the people".

"Fear God and report the facts as they are," Abu Zuhayr added.

He said the media has a duty towards the people, urging it to "take part in the Jihad (holy war)".

"The journalist should observe the efficiency and fairness of his profession and should never spoil the history of Islam and the people and his own," he said.

Spoil the history of islam? Hmmm? You mean terrorism.

Danish bus firm tells Muslim women to remove their veils

Common sense: "it is normal that passengers holding photo travel passes should identify themselves to the driver or the conductor." However, the cries of "Islamophobia" are inevitable.

Copenhagen. Observant Muslim women in Denmark will have to remove their face veils when their travel passes are being checked, one of the country's leading transport operators Arriva said Wednesday AFP informs.

Danish bus companies have introduced the rule after two incidents where Arriva drivers refused to allow passengers wearing the face veil, or niqab, to travel on their buses.

"All bus companies have recently come to an agreement on this point as it is normal that passengers holding photo travel passes should identify themselves to the driver or the conductor," Arriva spokesman Martin Wex said.

Those passengers who refuse to show their faces will be forced to buy another ticket to get on board, he said, adding that the policy would also apply to some Arriva train services in Denmark.

It is about time. We have seen many muslims dress like a woman to rob banks and other businesses. If they want to wear a mask, fine, walk.

Illinois: Muslim student who faked hate crime seeks trial in mental health court

She fabricated an anti-Muslim "hate crime." Despite an abundance of evidence that the faking of such hate crimes for political purposes is a thriving industry, she is now claiming to be mentally ill.

A Muslim student who allegedly made a false claim last year that she was attacked on the campus of Elmhurst College by a masked man making anti-Islamic slurs applied today to have her disorderly conduct case transferred to DuPage County mental health court.

Safia Jilani, 19, of Oak Brook, reported on Oct. 9 that she was beaten by a man with a gun in the college's science center. Elmhurst police said no such attack took place, and charges were filed against her.

"This young adult has had medical issues in the past that could have led to this episode," said defense attorney Terry Ekl, who said he has turned over a medical report to prosecutors. He declined to specify the medical condition....

This is what all muslims say when they are caught when trying to scam people. Now she is mentally ill. Why was she not being treated before? Because she is only mental because she is a muslim. They are all mental.

Jihadist involved with Oregon training camp convicted on 11 counts

MANHATTAN (CN) - Oussama Abdullah Kassir aka Abu Abdullah aka Abu Khadija, a Swedish citizen who tried to establish a jihad training camp in Bly, Ore., was found guilty of supporting al Qaeda after a four-week jury trial in Federal Court. He will be sentenced on Sept. 2, and faces multiple terms of life imprisonment.

One of his co-conspirators faxed radical London cleric Abu Hamza a letter saying that the training camp took advantage of the fact that Oregon is a "pro-militia and fire-arms state" and that the property in Bly "looks just like Afghanistan," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement. The co-conspirator said the group was "stock-piling weapons and ammunition," prosecutors added.

According to the indictment and evidence at trial:

When he received this letter in late 1999, Hamza sent Kassir and his alleged cohort Haroon Rashid Aswat from England to Bly, where Kassir told witnesses that he supported Osama Bin Laden and had undergone jihad training in Pakistan. A witness saw him carrying a CD with instructions on how to make bombs and poisons.

After leaving the camp, Kassir and Aswat traveled to Seattle, where they stayed at the Dar Us Salaam Mosque. From there, Kassir gave lessons on "how to assemble and disassemble AK-47s and how to alter an AK-47 to launch a grenade."

He established at least six Web sites, featuring cyber-pamphlets such as "The Mujahideen Explosives Handbook" and "The Mujahideen Poisons Handbook." He operated the sites from 2001 until he was arrested.

The jury found Kassir guilty of all 11 counts, including providing support to al Qaeda, conspiracy to kill or maim people overseas, and distributing information relating to explosives, destructive devices, and weapons of mass destruction.

Hamza and Aswat are awaiting extradition proceedings, which are pending in the European Court of Human Rights, to be tried in the United States.

We need to just kill these people. Let them go and they win. They will take up arms where ever they go.

Amnesty International condemns amputations in Somalia, but sidesteps the role of sharia

Rather, the report attributes such punishments to the lack of the rule of law, ignoring the fact that amputation for theft is a mainstay of Islamic law. This underscores the obvious but crucial point that one man's "rule of law" is not necessarily equivalent to another's. A great deal depends on whose law, and whose idea of "justice" is being enforced. And political correctness aside, they are not all basically the same.

NAIROBI (AFP) — Islamist armed groups controlling Somalia's southern city of Kismayo have carried out amputations and unlawful killings, Amnesty International reported Thursday.

The London-based watchdog cited the case of Mohamed Omar Ismail, who one of his hands publicly amputated by local religious leaders as a punishment for allegedly stealing items worth around 90 dollars (65 euros).

Hundreds of residents attended the punishment, which was carried out in a place called "Freedom Park," Amnesty's statement said.

"Punishments like amputations and killings illustrate the extent to which violence still substitutes for the rule of law in many areas of Somalia," said Michelle Kagari, Deputy Director of Amnesty International?s Africa Programme.

The port of Kismayo, Somalia's largest southern city, was seized in August 2008 by a coalition of forces loyal to rebel leader Hassan Turki, and the Shebab, the country's main radical Islamist insurgent organisation.

Turki is listed as a terrorist financier by Washington.

The administration formed there began implementing a strict form of Sharia (Islamic law).

In October, a 13-year-old girl was stoned to death in public by around 50 men on one of Kismayo's main squares. She was accused of adultery by local hardline Islamists after reporting that she had been raped by three men.

Amnesty, which listed several other cases of unlawful punishment over the past year, called on the local authorities to condemn human rights abuses and on the United Nations to establish monitoring mechanisms.

Nope, this has nothing to do with the koran and islam. Hell, this is right out of the of the koran, the terrorist training manual.

Republican-Muslim "humiliated and degraded" by ACT message

Many North Texas Muslims and some Republican Party officials have expressed offense towards a program that's drawing crowds at some Republican clubs.

Traveling across the country, the program warns of a stealth Jihad within the United States. While some consider the message prudent, others say it's just about hate.

Muslims packed a mosque in south Arlington for Friday prayers. Inside, the imam switches back and forth from Arabic to English. But, a Republican precinct judge, Dorrie O'Brien, is crisscrossing Tarrant County to spread a message that he believes something more might be more [sic] going on than prayer.

At a meeting at a Fort Worth restaurant, O'Brien warned North Texans to beware of stealth Mujahidee manipulating the media, infiltrating the military and running for public office.

Jamal Qaddura, a Republican precinct chair, shot [a] video of O'Brien's speech.

"[The] Quran demands believers wage Jihad against the infidel, again, everybody who isn't Muslim," O'Brien is captured telling the north Tarrant County Republican club. "... A grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the western civilization from within."

O'Brien is a local representative for a Florida-based group called "Act for America," which warns that Muslims want to undermine the United States government.

In his message, he said he believes there is "a stealth Jihad in the United States guided by the Muslim Brotherhood." The Muslim Brotherhood is a large international organization based in Egypt that supports creating Islamic states.

"I'm not aware of anybody in the United States here who is with the Muslim Brotherhood," said Qaddura, who enlisted Tarrant County Medical Examiner Nizam Peerwani to give a rebuttal.

"I was humiliated and degraded," he said of O'Brien's message.

Qaddura said he was shocked to hear O'Brien's message, which included warnings that "Islam permits the killing of innocent people."

"And this is what the ultimate goal is is to replace the United States' flag and the United States' government with the half moon and the star," O'Brien said.

Qaddura said the messages prey on fears, which have a way of spreading and doing a lot of harm.
"This is a good community," he said. "We are Texans, and Texans don't put up with that stuff."

ACT is a great organization. They are watching the muslims in this country and reporting what they hear.

Jihadis mobilizing in small American towns

The Dept. of Justice reports that there are "more than 35 suspected communes and more than 30,000 members spread across the US, all in support of one goal: the purification of Islam through violence."

WASHINGTON: In the 1980s when small towns in FATA were turning into recruitment centers for the Afghan war, seeds of jihad took hold and bloomed in some unexpected places – in two small towns in the United States, where two groups formed by Sheikh Mubarik Gilani –arrested in connection with Daniel Pearl's murder in 2002 – are suspected of violent extremism.

The towns of Red House, Virginia and Islamberg, New York are home to a small number of African-American converts to Islam who have withdrawn from the outside world to live by a set of strict religious codes. The two communities, which have formed a sect calling themselves the Muslims of the Americas, are said to be the followers of Sheikh Gilani. Gilani began preaching at a mosque in Brooklyn, New York seeking recruits for the Afghan jihad in 1980. It was then that he formed the group Jamat al Fuqra and later the Muslims of the Americas.

The Muslims of the Americas, a group exempt from tax, operates communes of primarily black, American-born Muslims in many states in the US. In addition to the compounds in Virginia and New York, these groups, which some have characterized as a cult, has compounds in Badger, California; Red House, Virginia; Binghamton, New York; and York, South Carolina. The cult houses between 100 and 200 people, many of them women and children in about 20 huge trailers.

A 2005 Department of Homeland Security report, titled the "Integrated Planning Guidance Report", warned that "other predicted possible sponsors of attacks (against North America) include Jamat al Fuqra (JF) that has been linked to Muslims of the Americas".Federal government officials told Daily Times that in 2006, the Department of Justice reported that the JF "has more than 35 suspected communes and more than 30,000 members spread across the US, all in support of one goal: the purification of Islam through violence."...

They are tax exempt? Why? And if we know that these places exist, why are we not going in and monitoring them?

Pakistan: Swat jihadists hiding, fleeing among civilians

Many militants were joining hundreds of thousands of residents fleeing the troubled northwestern Swat valley as the military eased a curfew late on Monday, informed sources told Adnkronos International (AKI). It was the last chance for the local population to leave their homes and head for safer areas ahead of an expected escalation of military operations against the Taliban, the sources said.

“Most of the militants are on the run. Those left are heavily under siege by the security forces but they are hiding in the population and that’s why security forces relaxed the curfew hours from 6 pm to 10 pm," a senior security officer told AKI, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"So that people would evacuate the areas and shift their families to the safer places so that military would carry out its operations without the fear of any collateral damage,” the source added.

In Peshawar, the commissioner for the Afghan refugee camp Syed Jamaluddin Shah told the reporters that three new camps would be established in Noshera and Charsada in the surrounding North West Frontier Province region which would have the capacity to provide shelter to at least 4,000 displaced families.

The military says it killed 200 militants in and near the Swat valley over the weekend. The army has deployed up to 15,000 troops to route [sic] some 500 militants fighting for the imposition of Islamic law in the Swat valley and neighbouring districts....

If the Taliban is faring as poorly as Pakistan reports, can offers of a "truce" and "negotiations" be far behind? At that point, we'll see if they learned anything in Islamabad since the initial truce in 2006.

They have not learned anything. The taliban is going to ask for a truce and will promise to behave and not kill people. Sure.

Taleban warn pope on 'proselytism'

Rome, May 7 - The Taleban have warned Pope Benedict XVI to help stop alleged attempts to convert Muslims in Afghanistan, in order to prevent ''serious consequences''.

The apparent threat appeared on a Taleban-linked website Thursday after Arab-language network Al Jazeera showed US soldiers in Afghanistan holding copies of the Bible translated into local languages.

''The Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan asks Pope Benedict XVI to act to stop the foolish and irresponsible actions of the crusaders upsetting the feelings of Muslim rebels, without awaiting the consequences of a severe reaction,'' said a Taleban message on the website, alemarah1.org.

''The Taleban forcefully exhort the mujaheddin, scholars and all religious circles to control the activities of the invaders and crusaders, and not allow anyone to preach religions except Islam,'' the message said.

Al Jazeera showed US soldiers in Bagram, not far from Kabul, with a pile of Bibles translated into the two local languages.

The US army subsequently said that ''any form of religious proselytism by troops is prohibited'' and assured that the bibles had been ''confiscated and destroyed''.

Trying to convert Muslims is a crime in Afghanistan and other Islamic countries.

The warning was issued amid mounting protests in Afghanistan against civilian deaths in recent US bombing raids.

It also came on the eve of the the pope's week-long trip to the Holy Land.

It is against the law to try to convert a muslim because once a muslim reads the bible and sees what a "real" religion looks like. I personally know that all religions are man made, no god involved.

RANT PREACHER OPENS JIHAD SUMMER SCHOOL

RANTING preacher Anjem Choudary is planning to peddle his hate to teenagers at a “jihad” summer school.

The vile extremist has appointed himself principal lecturer of a 20-week course in his twisted version of Islam.

Now fears are being raised Choudary and his followers will indoctrinate a new generation of Muslim fanatics.

The minimum age advertised is 15, but his School of Shari’ah has promised to consider even younger students.

They will learn about the Islamic “struggle” and how to enter the “Gardens of Paradise”.

Last night disgusted Tory MP Philip Davies, 37, said: “This is appalling. We know what this character is like and the kinds of things he will be saying. We need summer schools to encourage people to integrate into British society.

"The last thing we need is individuals like this spreading their poison and indoctrinating more people into their cause.”

Choudary, 41, has joined fellow fanatics to set up the School of Shari’ah, based in east London.

A police source said: “Choudary is well on the radar and is considered safe because he is so high profile.”

English Democrats chairman Robin Tilbrook criticised Choudary’s right to preach hate while also raking in handouts.

He said: “Not only is he spreading his warped view of Islam, but he’s flaunting it in our face by doing it with our cash.”

Muslim Council of Britain spokesman Inayat Bunglawala said: “Anjem Choudary is not regarded as a qualified Islamic scholar by mainstream UK Muslims.

“That said, however, he is free to promote his own views and teachings in the UK as long as he acts within the law. “We live in a country that is proud of its tradition of free speech after all.”

This guy needs a good killing.

MUSLIMS AREN’T LOYAL TO UK SAY 66% OF BRITS

Nearly two-thirds of Brits think Muslims living in the UK are not loyal to our country.

Only 36% of us think we can trust them, says a new Gallup poll.

And inter-race experts fear the image of peaceful Muslims has been seriously damaged by a few ranting fundamentalists, such as Anjem Choudary, 41, and Abu Izzadeen, 33.

Douglas Murray, director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, told the Daily Star: “There are many people who don’t feel it’s their country any more.

“There is a very considerable feeling of alienation among white Brits.

“All the major decisions that have been taken on big subjects like immigration and Europe have been made without asking their opinions.”

He went on: “It’s not surprising that a large percentage of non-Muslims think Muslims are not loyal. Every day we see reports of Muslims who are trying to attack this country.

“It’s very hard to do a positive spin on 7/7 or the Luton protests.

“It’s not surprising people see a link between fundamentalists and the wider Muslim community.”

The poll also found that up to a fifth of Muslim residents felt no allegiance to Britain.

“This means up to half a million,” said Mr Murray. “It’s in this pool that terrorists can find their recruitment area.”

British Muslims also tend to hold more conservative views than their counterparts in the rest of Europe. They are more strongly against gays, abortion, pornography, suicide and sex outside marriage.

Only 3% of Muslims here believe sex before marriage is permissible.

Mr Murray said: “We have to be better in this country at saying who we are so that people know who they are.

We need to come down stronger on people.“It’s not a pick-and-choose buffet. If you live in Britain you have to adopt and accept this way of life.

“We can’t force people to have positive attitudes to co-habiting or sex before marriage but we can encourage people not to live lives apart.

“The biggest mistake we’ve made in this country is to encourage people to live in separate communities. It means that people not only don’t feel loyalty but they feel they don’t have to feel loyalty.”

Despite the figures, Dalia Mogahed, executive director of the Gallup Centre for Muslim Studies, said: “British Muslims want to be part of the wider community and contribute to society.”

I do not believe that any muslims that live in Briton want to assimilate. They want to take over and have sharia the law of the land. They tell us this. Why don't we listen?

He said that nothing had changed during the 100 days of the Obama presidency, even though Obama had come to power with the slogan of "change."

He added, "Today there is news [in the U.S.] that Iran is named as the most active country supporting terrorism, and the U.S.'s inexperienced foreign minister [i.e. Hillary Clinton] says that if Iran does not agree with our [i.e. the U.S.'s] directive we will intensify the sanctions... Are you [Americans] after talks? For a long time the world people have been overwhelmed by hearing your (Americans') empty drums."

Calling the U.S. claim of talks with Iran "double standards," he said, "You do not want talks!" and added that Americans are wishing the day will come for them to re-plunder Iran's wealth, but to no avail.

In further comments on U.S. President Obama's policies, he said, "The world knows quite well that Obama has gained no success inside in harnessing financial crisis."

He added that U.S. foreign policy on the Palestinians under Obama presidency was the same at that of his predecessors and a repeat of the same old policy of Bush.

He added, "Americans always consider themselves committed to supporting Israel. That's a dark stain in U.S. diplomacy."

ISLAMABAD: Angered by Pakistan government's decision to launch an all out war against them, the Taliban has vowed to "eliminate" country's top leadership including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and their close family members.

"We thought that being a member of a religious family, Gilani will support our demand of implementing Sharia in the Malakand division but instead he has announced an all-out war against us, which has angered our commanders as well as fighters," an unnamed Taliban commander told The News daily.

The militant commander, who spoke to the newspaper by phone, said after Gilani declared during an address to the nation on Thursday that the Taliban would be wiped out from the Swat Valley and adjoining areas, the militants had started planning to "eliminate the top leaders of the ruling alliance, including President, Prime Minister and their close family members and aides"....

I honestly believe that the terrorists are going to get ahold of Pakistan's nukes.

Muslim hostility for Yemen's few remaining Jews grows

KHARIF, Yemen In this village in northern Yemen, where a kosher butcher slaughters chickens and the school bus carries young boys in side curls along a dirt track to their Hebrew studies, one of the oldest Jewish communities in the Arab world is fighting for its survival.

Yemen's Jews, here and elsewhere in the country, are thought to have roots dating back nearly 3,000 years to King Solomon. The community used to number 60,000 but shrank dramatically when most left for the newborn state of Israel.

Those remaining, variously estimated to number 250 to 400, are feeling new and sometimes violent pressure from Yemeni Muslims, lately inflamed by Israel's fierce offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza that cost over 1,000 Palestinian lives.

They face a Yemeni government that is ambivalent — publicly supportive but also lax in keeping its promises — in an Arab world where Islamic extremism and hostility to minorities are generally on the rise.

'There is hardly a mosque sermon that's free of bigotry. The government's own political rhetoric marginalizes the Jews, and civil society is too weak to protect them,' says Mansour Hayel, a Muslim Yemeni and human rights activist who is an expert on Yemen's Jewry.

'The government's policies are to blame for the suffering of the Jews,' he says.[...]

Not just the government's policies, but islam itself. It is in the koran, the terrorist training manual, that the Jews are the enemies of the muslims. All muslims hate Jews. They have to.

Jihadis moving to the suburbs of D.C.

How would you like your family’s next-door neighbor to be a former Guantanamo Bay inmate who was trained in a military camp in pre-9/11 Afghanistan? Would it matter if they were declared no longer to be an “enemy combatant” by the Pentagon?

That’s the fundamental question that ought to be going through the minds of Northern Virginia residents this week, amid news reports - including our own Daily News exclusive today - that a group from Gitmo may soon be making house in the D.C. suburbs. Officials tell The News the ethnic Turk Muslims from China, known as Uyghurs, will be settled in a Uyghur community in Fairfax, Va. - if Team Obama gives the thumbs up.

While Republicans have unarguably been making political hay out of this news - as well as the release of the Bush-era “torture memos” and President Obama’s plan to close Gitmo by January - they are indeed representing the views of many counterterror officials by objecting strenuously to plans to resettle a half-dozen former detainees in the D.C. suburbs.

“There are people in the intelligence community who are concerned about the Uyghurs from a security standpoint,” Rep. Pete King (R-L.I.), ranking GOPer on the Homeland Security Committee, told The Mouth. “They have very real worries.”...

No kidding, real worries. These guys were found in a terrorist training camp. They will be released into the community and quickly disappear. They will turn up in an attack in the US. You can bet on that. I say their pictures need to be released to the public. We can keep an eye on them.

U.S.-Israeli cooperation starting to break down under Obama?

Senior officials in Jerusalem expressed concern recently over the sharp decline in the coordination between Israel and the United States on security and state affairs since President Barack Obama’s entered the White House and especially since the formation of Israel’s new government…

“Obama’s people brief their Israeli counterparts in advance much less about security and Middle East policy activities than the Bush administration used to,” the officials said.

In addition, when they do brief Israeli officials, they don’t consult with them or coordinate their statements in advance.

This has caused several coordination “malfunctions” between the two states in the past two months, they said…

[A senior] official said the new administration no longer seems to see Israel as a “special” or “extraordinary” state in the Middle East, with which the U.S. must maintain a different dialogue than with other states.

Obama is either a muslim or a sympithizer. He hates Israel. He wants muslims to rule the world.

Queen's medal of honour scrapped... because it's too Christian for Muslims and Hindus

A medal personally established by the Queen is being withdrawn after it was deemed offensive to Muslims and Hindus.

The honour - known as The Trinity Cross of the Order of Trinity - has been ruled unlawful and too Christian.

It has been awarded to 62 distinguished residents of the former colony of Trinidad and Tobago over more than 40 years, including cricketers Brian Lara and Garfield Sobers, novelist V.S. Naipaul and many diplomats and politicians.

But groups representing the Caribbean islands' Muslim and Hindu communities - which account for around a third of their 1.3million-strong population - had argued that the words 'Trinity' and 'Cross' were 'overtly Christian'. They also said the use of a cross insignia was offensive.

Five British law lords, all members of the Privy Council, have ruled that the honour breached the right to equality and the right to freedom of conscience and belief.

The Council is an obscure body made up of senior politicians, bishops and peers. They advise the monarch on the exercise of the Royal Prerogative and act as a final court of appeal for many former colonies.

In the judgment, Lord Hope of Craighead said that the Trinity Cross was 'perceived by Hindus and Muslims living in Trinidad and Tobago as an overtly Christian symbol both in name and substance' and as such breached the islands' constitution of 1976.

It will be replaced with the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago - a circular medal featuring a sun, stars, water and a map of the islands.

Lawyer Anand Ramlogan of Hindu association Maha Saba said of the decision: 'It's a vindication of the 40 years of disquiet and unease silently suffered by the Muslim and Hindu communities whose legitimate grievance with the Trinity Cross was flippantly dismissed by successive governments.'

The implications of the ruling are being studied by lawyers in the Cabinet Office, which oversees the honours system. Hugh Peskett, editor-in-chief of Burke's Peerage and Gentry, warned that changing the names of titles to remove Christian references would destroy hundreds of years of history. 'Part of the significance of an honour is its antiquity,' he said.

The Queen is due to visit Trinidad and Tobago - which won independence in 1962 - in November for the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.

Officers stripped of stop and search terror powers over fears of angering Muslims

Scotland Yard is scaling down its use of controversial powers which allow officers to stop and search people without reasonable grounds for suspicion.

Stung by criticism that the practice has alienated ethnic minorities, the Metropolitan Police is changing its policy on when Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 can be employed.

In future its use will be restricted to policing 'iconic' or strategically important sites, such as Buckingham Palace and Parliament, and to specific operations.

In other cases officers will be told to use Section 43 of the Act, which requires them to have reasonable suspicion that the person they are stopping is a terrorist.

The Met increased its use of the Section 44 powers following the car bomb attacks on a nightclub in Haymarket, Central London, and Glasgow Airport in June 2007.

Since October of that year the force has carried out 154,293 stop and searches.

But Government figures released last week showed that black and Asian people were targeted disproportionately.

Assistant Commissioner John Yates, who took over as the force's anti-terror chief last month, highlighted the concerns in a recent report to the Met Police Authority.

He wrote: 'The power is seen as controversial and has the potential to have a negative impact, particularly on minority communities.'
