Muslim-owned shop bans customers wearing veils

A Muslim-owned jewellery shop has decided to ban customers wearing veils after being targeted by robbers disguised as Islamic women.

Muslim women in a niqab will be encouraged to telephone in advance to ensure that a female member of staff is present during their visit, to confirm their identities.

Everyone entering ATAA Jewellers in Glasgow must reveal their faces under planned new rules to protect staff from further attacks.

The store owners decided to act after two Asian men wearing traditional Muslim women's clothes – including niqab veils – made away with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery earlier this month.

The pair, who were also carrying handbags, pretended to be interested in buying some items but attacked staff with pepper spray when cabinets were unlocked.

Now the Sadiq family who run the shop are planning to put up a sign informing customers that they cannot wear any headgear that covers the face.

Any Muslim women who are more comfortable in a niqab will be encouraged to telephone in advance to ensure that a female member of staff is present during their visit, to confirm their identities.

"It is our safety that matters as well at the end of the day," Rukhsana Sadiq told the BBC Asian Network. "God forbid anything like this happening to anyone else."

The family said they accepted the policy may offend some Muslims, but expect other businesses to take a similar approach. Criminals wearing Islamic veils have carried out at least one other robbery in the city.

Local councillor Hanzala Malik backed the plan. "I know in Scotland that banks will not allow their customers coming in with motorbike helmets, I don't see why it should be different for people wearing the Niqab. It is an issue about identifying people," he said.

The disguise potential of traditional Muslim women's dress has been exploited several times in recent years. July 21 bomber Yassin Omar donned a burka as he fled after the failed attacks, as did BBC journalist John Simpson to gain entry to Afghanistan during the 2001 invasion.

Why do they have to wear masques? Oh, Old Mo said so.

Couple Killed

Here's one of so many stories we hear about on a daily basis: a person known to be violent is free to move about in society. The authorities do nothing until a calamity occurs. And even then, they do very little... The simplistic tone of the article is typical, in it's wearisome objectivity, of the way crime is reported in the press.

The northern city of Denain was holding its 106th carnival. Three kilometers away, at Douchy-les-Mines, a 62-year-old man named Ahmed Assous murdered a young French couple. Because their car was improperly parked. The regional paper La Voix du Nord reports:

While the Lithuanian majorettes and Flemish drumkorps were parading in the neighboring city of Denain, a crime without precedent took place in Douchy-les-Mines, in the former miners' village ("coron") of La Fabrique.

The cause of the murder was "a simple neighborhood quarrel", according to Jean-Michel Bérard, prefect of the region. (...)

But the fact remains that a sixty-year-old man suddenly killed a man and a woman, both in their early twenties, who had come to visit their family in La Fabrique. The young couple was taking advantage of Easter Monday to introduce their 10-day-old baby to an uncle and an aunt.

They had arrived around 4:30 p.m. A half-hour later they came out, without the baby, to better park their Peugeot that they had left in front of a neighbor's house. That's when they saw they had a flat tire. They called on Ahmed Assous, 62, who, by way of a response, took out his 30-30 caliber carbine rifle, a veritable war weapon. According to several sources not officially confirmed, the former municipal employee of the city of Denain also shot in the direction of a young man, 17, the couple's nephew, who was not hit. But signs of a bullet impact were found on the front door of a vehicle parked nearby.

Note: The article does not say why they went to Assous - was it to ask for help, or to question him about the flat tire? Nor does it say if they knew him.

A subsequent article, also from la Voix du Nord, indicates that Ahmed Assous was a truck driver, not a municipal employee.

When the Denain police and firemen from Douchy-les-Mines arrived a few minutes later, they saw two bodies, motionless and soaked in blood, but they could not intervene since the killer, assumed to be dangerous, still had his weapon.

The man, "who had a reputation for violence", according to the prefect, retreated into his house.

The article concludes with a description of the crime scene, the closing off of traffic, and finally the surrender of the killer, who put up little resistance.

The family was described as "stunned" ("hébété") by the killings.

The second article, linked above, describes Ahmed Assous as a man who did not like anyone to park in front of his house, which he regarded as his territory. In 1996 he had struck a neighbor on the head for leaning on a parked car in front of his house. Neighbors also knew about the death threats he made to his wife who recently divorced him. After the divorce, he sank into pathological aggressiveness, consumed alcohol regularly, and shot his rifle in the garden.

How does this guy have a gun? He is a nut job muslim.

Mahmoud Abbas: "A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?"

Recognizing Israel as a Jewish state poses temporal and religious problems for Abbas & Co.: Acknowledging and accepting Israel's Jewish identity disqualifies Muslims' future claims on the land for negotiation, armed conflict, the claim to a "right of return," and so forth. Doing so would also acknowledge the historical identity of the region as a Jewish homeland (as opposed to the revisionist story of the allegedly "uncorrupted" followers of a proto-Muslim Abraham). Lastly, it accepts something other than Islamic law as legitimate, which is out of step with the fundamental reason for waging jihad: Imposing Islamic dominion and law.

Ramallah, 27 April (AKI) - Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Monday dismissed calls by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognise Israel as a Jewish state. He also said a halt to Israel's continuing expansion of illegal Jewish settlements inside the West Bank was a prerequisite for resuming peace talks.

"A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?," said Abbas, quoted by Israeli media. "You can call yourselves as you like, but I don't accept it and I say so publicly."

He also said it was not his job to define or name the Israeli state.

"Name yourself, it's not my business. Name yourself the Hebrew Socialist Republic. All I know is that there is the state of Israel, in the borders of 1967, not one centimetre more, not one centimetre less. Anything else, I do not accept."

Many observers believe the so called 'green line' – the pre-1967 Six-Day War ceasefire line between Israel and Jordan – should be the basis for an international border between Israel and the West Bank in the creation of a future Palestinian state.

Israeli daily Haaretz said last week that Netanyahu wanted to impose the precondition of recognition of Israel as a Jewish state in order to resume peace negotiations.

However, it is believed such recognition would block the Palestinians demand for the "right of return" of millions of refugees who fled or were expelled by Jewish forces, during the establishment of Israel in 1948 and subsequent wars. The refugees are now scattered throughout the Middle East.

Israel's hardline foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said last Thursday that the right of return is not up for discussion....

No right of return. In fact, the Jews need to expel every arab from all of Israel, Gaza, Judea, Sumaria, and the Golan.

"My Muslim members don't want you because you are Jewish"

Islamic antisemitism, rooted in many Qur'anic injunctions, notably the charge that the Muslims' worst enemies will be the Jews (Qur'an 5:82), comes to Britain.

The Labour Party has become embroiled in a race row after a prospective female councillor was allegedly told she was 'too white and Jewish' to be selected.

Elaina Cohen claims that Labour councillor Mahmood Hussain said he would not support her application for an inner-city ward because 'my Muslim members don't want you because you are Jewish'.

Mrs Cohen, 50, has made an official complaint about the alleged remarks made by Mr Hussain, a Muslim and former lord mayor of Birmingham.

She said: 'I am shocked and upset that a member of the Labour Party in this day and age could even think something like that, let alone say it.

'People should not be allowed to make racist comments like that. If someone in the party feels I cannot represent them because of my colour or religion, that's ridiculous.

'I felt particularly aggrieved because I have worked across all sections of the community, particularly with the Muslim section, and have been on official visits to Pakistan.'
Mrs Cohen had applied to stand as a Labour councillor for the Birmingham ward of East Handsworth and Lozells, which has a high Asian and Afro-Caribbean population.

As one of Labour's safest seats on Tory-led Birmingham city council, the final candidate would be almost certain of victory at the June 4 by-election.

But when Mrs Cohen telephoned 57-year-old Mr Hussain for his support, she was astonished to be told that she was too 'white and Jewish' to be considered.

Lorraine Briscoe, who runs a local community association, was sitting next to Mrs Cohen when the conversation took place on speakerphone last Tuesday.

'I was disgusted that a councillor could make comments like that in 2009,' she said.
'He told her, "They will not vote for someone who is white and Jewish. My Muslim members don't want you because you are Jewish".

'Elaina then asked him if he had talked to his Muslim members about it and he said, "I don't want to talk about it with you" and hung up....

Mr Hussain said yesterday: 'I would not make those sort of comments. The allegations are not true.'

Sure he would never make these comments. This is straight from the terrorist training manual, the koran.

Afghanistan: Airborne chemical attack on girl school; nearly 50 collapse

"Police said they had made no arrests and did not know who was responsible." Those wacky, anonymous "miscreants" must be at it again. "Girls collapse after suspected poison attack on Afghan school," by Ben Farmer in Kabul for the Telegraph, April 27:

Dozens of girls collapsed and needed hospital attention after a suspected airborne chemical attack on a school in northern Afghanistan.Five teachers and 40 pupils were overcome by fumes during a school ceremony in the capital of northern Parwan province.

Afghan officials said they were awaiting the results of blood tests to determine what had happened, but there were unconfirmed local reports a bottle had been thrown into the playground beforehand.Dr Abdullah Fahim, a spokesman for the public health ministry, said: "For the time being, it seems to be airborne poisoning. But it's not confirmed yet what the actual reason is."

One teacher at Sadiqi Padshah School in Charikar, who did not wish to be named, said the whole school had been standing in the playground listening to staff speeches when students began to collapse.

"We didn't know what was happening, all the children just went down and we took them to hospital." Victims were treated for severe headaches and streaming eyes after the attack on Sunday morning, 40 miles north of Kabul, but the provincial governor said all had made a full recovery.

Police said they had made no arrests and did not know who was responsible. While the growth of the Afghan school system is seen as one of the successes of the past seven years, Taliban-led insurgents opposed to the central government or girls' education continue to attack schools and teachers.

In 2008, there were 292 attacks on schools, with 92 people killed and 169 injured.

Last year in the southern city of Kandahar, men on motorbikes threw acid in the faces of girls walking to school.

However, Parwan, a Tajik-dominated province immediately north of Kabul, is considered relatively safe, with little Taliban activity.

When Taliban militants overran Buner last week, they told women to stay indoors, warned men to stop shaving their beards, and threatened shopkeepers who sold movies and music.

In Pakistan's rural society, male strangers are not even supposed look at local women. And yet, some farmers enjoy blaring Bollywood music and even dancing on trailers full of hay, while driving their gaudily-decorated tractors.

If the Taliban's rural revolt succeeds, it could bring silence to the Pakistani countryside.

Fort Dix jihadists sentenced to life of prison da'wa

A federal judge today sentenced three Muslim immigrants from South Jersey to life in prison for plotting to attack Fort Dix, saying radical ideology and hatred for America drove their plot to kill United States soldiers.

Gee, which radical ideology was involved?

The men, brothers from the Balkens [sic], were among five defendants convicted in December of conspiring to target the Burlington County military base in a crime prosecutors said was inspired by al Qaeda and proved homegrown jihadists were plotting inside America.

"Nothing has a greater impact on society than the crime of terrorism," U.S. District Judge Robert Kugler said before delivering the sentences in a heavily-guarded courtroom in Camden, crowded with government officials, reporters and the men's relatives.

The defendants - Dritan, Eljvir, and Shain Duka - sat quietly during the most of hearing, wearing dark-green prison jumpsuits and thick beards. Before being sentenced, they each delivered rambling statements -- lasting nearly 25 minutes -- saying the prosecution was riddled with lies.
"Me and my brothers are innocent," Eljvir Duka said....

Arab League says terrorism and Islam are different

VIENNA, April 24 (KUNA) -- The Arab League called for differentiating between terrorism and Islam, which is a religion that calls for love, tolerance, and civilized coexistence.

Hold on, love, tolerance and civilized coexistence? I have read the whole book. It is full of hate and segragation, and zero tolerance.

Arab League Secretary General's Advisor for Legal Affairs Mohammad Ridhwan Bin Khadhra, at the 18th meeting of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) held here, said that the killing of civilians was rejected by religions and international conventions.

He said it was important to combat terrorism, deal with its reasons, and differentiate between it and people's right to fight invaders and external aggression.

In other words, the West must abandon Israel.

He called for holding an international conference under the supervision of the UN, or a special UN General Assembly meeting on terrorism, and urged the international community to approve the UN draft agreement on the issue....

The way the UN is now, such a conference would criminalize any discussion of Islamic jihad in connection with terrorism.

Muslim who called for engagement with Muslim Brotherhood to advise White House

Mogahed, along with John Esposito, cooked the results of a Gallup survey of Muslims to increase the number of "moderates."

Mogahed was also a member of U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project, which called for engagement with Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood is dedicated, in its own words, to "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

CAIRO - The first Muslim woman appointed to a position in President Barack Obama’s administration met with lawmakers Monday and discussed her role on an interfaith advisory board the new administration hopes will broaden dialogue and understanding.

Dalia Mogahed’s dimpled smile shined from under her hijab, the Muslim headscarf, as she addressed senate staff and think tanks at a meeting organized by the Congressional Muslims Staffers Association to discuss American Muslim public opinion in the wake of a recent survey.

This is a hard liner that has no place in the government, but since Obama is really a muslim I can see why it has happened.

Report says fragile state institutions, weak leadership and inadequate resources limit ability of Islamabad to fight militancy.

LAHORE: If Talibanisation of Pakistan continues at the current pace, the next generation of the world’s most dangerous terrorists will be born, indoctrinated, and trained in Pakistan, the Council on Foreign Relations, an American think tank, warned on Tuesday.

“Today, Al Qaeda’s top leadership is most likely based in Pakistan, along with the top Taliban leaders,” the report – titled From AfPak to PakAf: A Response to the New US Strategy for South Asia – said.[...]

Groups like the banned Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, according to the report, are well resourced and interconnected and some of these appear to retain influence in state institutions and enjoy public sympathy on account of social services.

It says over the past two years, the security environment in Afghanistan and Pakistan has taken a significant turn for the worse destabilising the Pashtun belt in southern and eastern Afghanistan as well as western Pakistan.

“At the same time, a range of other violent actors from Punjabi anti-Indian extremists to Central Asian warlords-operate in the non-Pashtun areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan,” according to the report, adding Pakistan and Afghanistan offer these groups an unusually hospitable environment, one that complicates and magnifies the danger.

The report by Daniel Markey also says that: “The geographic proximity of Pakistan’s nuclear programme to these sophisticated terrorists and the recent history of illicit transfers of material and know-how pose a unique threat.”

The report concludes that fragile state institutions, weak leadership, and inadequate resources limit the ability of Islamabad and Kabul to fight militancy in the near term or to foster moderation.

Pakistani jihad leader wants Sharia "even in America"

He said it. And Muslim Khan also mentioned the need to collect jizya payments from the dhimmis.

MINGORA/LAHORE/NEW DELHI: Swat Taliban have said they are not bound to honour the peace accord between the government and cleric Sufi Muhammad, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to the channel, they said the NWFP government had signed the deal with Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi, and not with the Taliban.

Taliban sharia: Although there was no official confirmation, Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan issued a direct challenge to the legitimacy of Pakistan’s government in a telephone interview with the CNN, by demanding the imposition of the Taliban’s model of sharia throughout Pakistan and beyond, “even in America”.

Disagree: He also denounced any Pakistanis who disagreed with his interpretation of Islam, calling them “non-Muslims”. He also called for the imposition of jiziya, a tax to be levied on all non-Muslims in Pakistan....

Muhammad cartoons editor: There's a problem with Muslims in Europe

Flemming Rose, culture editor of Danish paper that published cartoons of Muslim prophet which led to riots, says clashes were attempt by Muslims to impose Islamic law on non-Muslim countries. He tells Ynet way to fight intolerance is by freedom of expression, not by limiting it.

Flemming Rose, culture editor of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten which published 12 cartoons depicting the Muslim Prophet Muhammad in 2005 that led to an outbreak of riots in the Muslim world in which over 50 people were killed, says he feels no remorse for his decision – but could not give a straight answer as to whether he would do it again.

Rose is currently in Israel as guest of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In an interview with Ynet on Tuesday he said, "If I said I wouldn't do it again, it would send a very bad message to those who committed crimes and intimidations, and would in fact be telling them: If you keep this up, we will do whatever you want.

"If I do say that I would publish the cartoons again, in light of what happened, people will think I am cynical and don't consider the repercussions of my actions. It's like asking a rape victim if she regrets wearing a revealing shirt for a Friday night out."

The crisis that was dubbed "the Muhammad cartoons controversy", broke out in two rounds.

The first was in 2006, after Muslim clerics spoke out against the publication of the 12 Muhammad cartoons in Denmark. The second time was in February 2008, after no less than 18 different newspapers published the most famous of the drawings, that depicted the prophet with a bomb in his turban, in response to a foiled attempt on the lives of the illustrators...

There is a problem with every muslim. Nothing new here.

Videos of this form of torture are being distributed on mobile cellphones in Iraq.' According to this human rights activist, for the past 3 weeks a crackdown on homosexuals has been going on based on a religious decree that demands their death; dozens have been targeted. She says that the persecution of homosexuals is not confined to the Shiite clerics. Some Sunni leaders have also declared the death penalty for sodomy on satellite channels."

Obama refuses to meet with Netanyahu

He bowed to the Saudi King. He wants to meet with the Thug-In-Chief. He called Hugo Chavez "my friend." But Barack Obama has apparently refused to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday canceled his plans to attend the upcoming AIPAC summit, after it became clear that US President Barack Obama would not meet him during the conference.

Netanyahu announced that while he will not attend the conference in person, he will send a video-taped message to Washington....

I hate Obama. He is clearly a muslim. He will meet with the terrorists in Iran, Gaza and other places, but not Netanyahu.

Al Qaeda Calls for attack on Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) While the eyes of the world are focused on the Durban II racism conference in Geneva, the international al-Qaeda terrorist organization issued a new call for an attack on Israel.

The deputy al-Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, urged the group's Iraqi followers to sneak the borders and "liberate" Jerusalem in a new recording posted on the As-Sahab terrorist internet website on Monday.

Osama bin Laden's deputy also slammed Egypt for brokering talks between the Palestinian Authority's Hamas terrorist organization and its rival Fatah faction.

The talks are aimed at bringing the two groups together in hopes of rebuilding a PA unity government – a goal which has proven elusive thus far.

The Egyptian-born terrorist insisted in Monday's harangue, however, that the negotiations were actually intended to pressure Hamas into recognizing the State of Israel, which he warned the group not to do. He also called on PA Arabs to attack Israelis and their allies outside the country.

A MAN shot dead his sister and niece on suspicion in the Green Town police limits on Monday. Police said accused Zulfiqar Khokhar, a resident of 705-D-I, Green Town, suspected that his sister Shahnaz, 35, and his brother’s daughter Farah, 18, had developed illicit relationships with some locals. The accused, who had presented himself before the police after committing the crime, told the police that he had admonished the victims repeatedly but they turned a deaf ear to his advice. On Monday, the accused exchanged harsh words with the victims, which infuriated him and he opened fire at the women with a pump-action shotgun, killing them on the spot. Later, he presented himself before Green Town police and confessed the crime.

Police collected evidence from the crime scene and shifted the bodies to morgue. A case has also been registered against the accused on the complaint of his brother Jafar Khokhar, the father of victim Farah.

Talking to this correspondent, SP Sadr division Mansoorul Haq Rana said Zulfiqar had killed his sister and niece on suspicion. On Monday, the victims scolded the accused for admonishing them at this the accused killed the two women, the SP said. The assault weapon had been recovered, he added....

Islam-critic receives death threats, cancels speaking engagements

Considering that he's not just another critic of Islam, but an ex-Muslim, an apostate, who, according to sharia, must be put to death, this, of course, is only to be expected. But that he taught at Sunni Islam's most prestigious school and was an imam only to turn around and criticize Islam, also gives him that much more authority (and his foes that much more reason to want to slay him).

Mark A. Gabriel, ex-Muslim and Islam-critic has gotten death threats and must cancel speaking appointments in the Netherlands.

The American terrorism fighting unit, the FBI, advised Gabriel to drop all public appearances in the Europe due to these death threats. He was escorted to the Schiphol airport by his contact person in the Netherlands, Jewish-Christian pastor Ben Kok. Gabriel had planned to be in the Netherlands till April 25.

Gabriel (51), his pseudonym for years, grew up as a Muslim in Egypt. He was a teacher at Al-Azhar University and an imam as well, but was disappointed with Islam, in particular due to its violent character. When he crossed over to Christianity, he had to flee. He now has asylum in the US.

We should have given asylum to Ayan Hirsi Ali.

Obama hides $200 million for Hamas in 'supplemental' Iraq and Afghanistan appropriation

I wonder if this is something else he promised when he bowed to King Abdullah at the G-20 in London.

President Obama has hidden a supplemental $200 million for the 'Palestinian Authority' in a 'supplemental budget' for American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. By putting the money there, it is less likely to be subject to congressional scrutiny. Given that Obama originally wanted to give the PA $800 million, I suppose we shouldn't complain too much.

Given that (a) in the past, money given to Fatah has been used to pay Hamas salaries, (b) money was last transferred to Gaza for that purpose in February, which means that the quarterly salaries are due, (c) at least 40% of the 'Palestinian Authority's 'budget' is spent in Gaza, and (d) the Netanyahu government is a lot less likely than its predecessor to transfer cash to Gaza, my guess is that a major chunk of this money is going to Gaza for 'salaries.

'But Omri at Mere Rhetoric has lots of interesting speculation about other ways the 'Palestinian Authority' may spend the money, along with some ways in which the American budgetary process is being used to hurt Israel, and you should definitely read the whole thing (Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit).

This is the transparentcy that our muslim president spoke so much about during the election. Remember it is ok for muslims to lie to non-muslims when it is good for islam. It is in their book, the terrorist training manual, the koran.
